The Steven Tyler thing would not work at all but I also think "Love" was a poor single choice to return Jana to country radio. There's nothing memorable about it and I seem to forget this song is still charting. I also believe "Whiskey" was a bad second single choice and that "I Hope It Rains" wasn't that great of a song (her vocals I'm not a fan of at all but the song itself wasn't a radio hit to me).
Her chance at being relevant at country radio is quickly dwindling and releasing a song with a rock singer who hasn't been relevant for my lifetime is, suffice to say, not a smart move.

Those are all good points, but Aerosmith was pretty big in 1998 with "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" from Armageddon. I think that's even technically their biggest hit. But yeah, those are all valid points

Lol Plus it's hard to believe that 1998 was 16 years ago, wow.

If this was with a more established artist, there would be buzz, though.

This song benefited from a big boost on Friday of last week, so that her MB update on Saturday morning was +69 spins and over 200k gained in audience. Does anybody know why that happened? It was completely inconsistent with the rest of her chart performance for the week.
I assume that on this coming Saturday morning she is going to lose those spins and that audience gain, causing her numbers to look bad (and creating a risk that she'll go recurrent on Billboard). I'm not rooting against her and it would be fine with me if she posts a rally, but I don't understand those big gains and I don't see what rabbit she'll be pulling out of her hat this week.

Jaded, from 2001, is the last one I can think of, and I'm an Aerosmith fan. They are just a veteran rock band that tours well, but has no impact on radio whatsoever. If she wants to do a song with an aging star, she should pick a country one, since the song will be promoted to country radio.

If "Bullet" is an original country song, why wouldn't radio stations play it? I guess I just don't see how featuring a popular rock star makes the song itself less country or would ruin radio's good will toward Jana. They don't want to play her music anyway, so she doesn't have much to lose by trying something "risky" (which I don't even really see that as). I'll wait until I hear the song to decide if radio will play it.

Yeah, if the duet is genuinely good, I don't think having a rock star on it will be to its detriment, unless of course it just doesn't work well as a song. But I actually believe that it could be a boost for Jana because Steven Tyler's seen as a legend regardless of his genre, and he often shows up at country-related events like this years CMAs and he's a judge on American Idol, etc. So there's definitely some added pull there that could help Jana out with building some hype around a new single. Country radio of today may actually be just as receptive (maybe even more?) to her dueting with someone like Steven Tyler than if she threw someone like Kenny Rogers on it instead. It would eliminate the need for forcing those unconventional crossover awards show performances like Little Big Town feat. Ariana Grande, too, lol.

This went recurrent on Billboard this week and it now has taken a serious hit on MB with losing 300k in audience today. "Love" went without a bullet last week, so this will be gone from the MB chart once the freeze is over. Its MB peak was #31 while its Billboard peak was #32.
I've pointed this out before but this wasn't a good lead single choice. Sometimes the simplest songs can be the most effective, but the "I still believe in's" just did nothing for me and I feel PD's weren't overly enthusiastic about this one when deciding songs level of spins. The time of year it was released and competition certainly didn't help Jana's chances but "Love's" chart run was the exact run I expected.
