I've never been impressed by her voice. Maybe the studio version will sound better but this live version isn't great.

Joey Moi produced the studio version to this song and most of the record which has already been cut. She's been on BMLG's roster for a while, but they waited a good long while to release the official debut single. RaeLynn co-wrote this song by the way. The other songs that will be on her album that she's performing for radio are "Kissin' Frogs", "Love Traingle", "Young", and "Careless".

^Pretty sure that was just released to iTunes around the time she sang it on The Voice to get some quick downloads in, despite it being a boring, forgettable song. It was never meant to be the lead single - just a song to make it known to The Voice fans that Raelynn was making music.

The add date is June 30.
Source is RaeLynn at a rehearsal.

Oh, it'll definitely chart. She's on Valory (Brantley Gilbert, Thomas Rhett, Justin Moore). Will it be a hit? I don't know...but it'll easily chart given the strong label behind her.

To me the song has a lot of potential and she's a great live performer. Her vocals have genuinely improved in that area. Also, the lyrics on this are pretty relatable.

Her voice is way more tolerable on the studio version compared to live performances on videos and that of the Boyfriend song, but I still don't know if I like this one, might grow on me though.

I just heard the live one and I'm not a fan. I can't stand her vocals and "Boyfriend" was tremendously annoying.

I've been following her for a while now, even though I find her voice a little annoying at times too. But I think she's so gorgeous and has so much charisma that I end up rooting for her lol But I think she's really improving since her The Voice days, and she seems very authentic to me. The studio version is quite enjoyable and the lyrics are pretty good. By the way, the song was written by RaeLynn, Nicolle Galyon, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna.

I surprisingly heard this on the radio last week. I'm so glad she didn't rush to put an album out after her time on The Voice. I think the time in between the album and The Voice did her well. I really like the live versions of her songs on YouTube.

I just listened to this and ... enjoyed it, which I was not expecting.
This and "Girl in a Country Song" might provide a much needed one-two punch at radio, though I suspect Maddie & Tae will have more buzz right off the bat. But I can root for this. Her vocals still aren't anything amazing, and the production is a bit loud but that's so normal anymore. I appreciate the sentiment of the song, and think it's cute. I kind of almost wish this had been Danielle Bradbery's lead single.

Quoting this post from another thread because this is literally how I feel about this: A year ago, if you would have told me I was going to actually going to like a RaeLynn song I would have died laughing. I can't believe how good this is. I was ready for her to go away before she even got here because I thought her vocals on everything she sang on The Voice were horrendous. But this is kind of fantastic. I'm not sure if it's a work of studio trickery or she's actually getting better at singing, or some combination of both. Though her voice is not only tolerable but enjoyable on this, and I like the song itself beyond that. My only complaint is that the chorus is a bit overproduced and it sounds a bit at odds with her vocal track, as opposed to just being too loud. It's hard to explain, but if feels a little off to me. And those background vocals on the chorus come out of nowhere and kind of seem like a random addition. I'm actually really impressed though that this is quite good. I would love to hear this on the radio and see it become a big hit, though I'm still curious as to how the rest of her debut will sound and if its merely a fluke that I enjoy this one.

I saw her singing other new songs on YouTube and I pretty much liked it too. From what I read in interviews, she's really capable as a songwriter for her age and she's the one setting the tone and course of the co-writing session, instead of waiting someone to throw out ideas and help with a line or two.
But I also read that it took 4 days for her to lay down the vocals for this single. :O Maybe because of her phrasing (that is getting better).
Here's a video of one of her songs, the other ones are related, you can watch it too. (And hell yes, I'm becoming a RaeLynn fan lol)
Song starts at 1:07

Her voice is different and not similar to anyone else. The song is just OK. I don't care for her personality. She seems abrasive and that is a turn off for me.

What a beautiful song. I can definitely see the potential in her knowing she was able to write that. Her vocals were alright on that video, too, but I imagine they'll sound better on the studio cut, which I am very much looking forward to now.

Ok. so I just finally listened to the studio version of this song and i absolutely LOVE this. I wonder if this will do anything considering the over crowd of songs on radio right now. BUT one thing is for sure , I really am rooting for her now. I could see this going top 30 on country radio but i also could see it doing way better... or worse.

"God Made Girls" has a bullet of over 200 currently on MB and sits inside the top 50 on the rolling chart after being #52 the previous week. This is off to a pretty good start and with the long radio tour she had it seems to being paying off early on.
The funny thing though is she had a 44 spin increase this week on KKBQ in Houston. "God Made Girls" jumped from 6 spins to 50 spins! Now I know there are some wacky playlists out there and I'm not surprised by some of the oddities since I've been looking at these things for a while, but this playlist is pretty interesting even to me. Justin's rock remake jumped from 4 spins to 49, "Small Town Throwdown" is getting spun over 60 times, and "Rewind" which went recurrent a while ago, jumped from 3 spins to 24 spins.
Meanwhile songs that are in the top 25 in airplay like "Somethin' Bad" sits at just 6 spins. "All Alright" (7), "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" (12), and "Bartender" (16). David's "Kiss You Tonight" dropped from 55 spins to 11 this past week as well...
Sometimes I find a playlist that makes me chuckle.

Well, They may just have major reaction to the single there too.

I was not at all a fan of her on the Voice (thought she was quite the horror lol). But this is definitely a cute listenable song. And age-appropriate for her.

Well, They may just have major reaction to the single there too. I would say that's the reason, but there are too many oddities in that particular playlist to make me think it's just that. Either way I'm sure RaeLynn appreciates the 44 spin increase...as long as they don't give her the David Nail treatment and decrease her spin total by 44 spins.
