This appears to be done. It's down 50 spins today and 600k in audience, and had a poor update yesterday if I remember correctly. Kind of surprised with this one since sales were so strong and it had the On The Verge, I figured it was at least top 10 bound. I'm at least willing to see this songs update tomorrow to see if it free falls but I agree this probably finished. "God Made Girls" has lost over 1.7 million in audience since Sunday with of course the 600k loss coming today. I knew this wasn't going to be a big hit even with the OTV announcement - with a top 10 fight being the absolutely best case scenario. The song while great in sales was just too polarizing for radio and its listeners. The lyrics really seemed to rub many the wrong way and in the end, that along with this being considerably older than the previous OTV selections is why it appears to have lost its battle in the top 20.

What a shame. With the way this had been selling, it definitely deserved far better. I'm going to remain optimistic though and hope that this can pull a turn around and that even if it can't, the follow-up single will perform much better. Hopefully the next release will sell just as well without being too polarizing. I really, really loved this one, so I have a good feeling about what's to come from RaeLynn, even though I didn't even like her before "God Made Girls" came out, lol. They also named 'turn down for what?' one of the five best lyrics of the year, so they threw any credibility that list might have had out the window with that. They need to re-evaluate if they think 'turn down for what?' is one of the finest lyrical moments of 2014.

Normally I would agree that this one is done, but the updates have been pretty misleading. GMG is down about 600k alone at one of the Westwood One satellite stations (and that airplay loss won't be reflected on Billboard), and its 7-day spin change is still only -5. Now, if it loses another 600k tomorrow and has a bullet of closer to -100, then I would say it's about to sink like a rock.
Another thing that must be considered is that it's been about 7-8 weeks since she was named as the OTV artist, and so within the last week or two, many iHeartMedia (Clear Channel) stations likely met the minimum threshold of spins they were required to give "God Made Girls". So perhaps some of them have decided to adjust its rotation with a slight decrease in spins. If even a handful of CC stations reduce its airplay by 2-3 spins per week (per station), that's gonna be a sizable drop.
Any way you look at it, it's definitely struggling...but when looked at a little bit closer, it's easy to see that, at the very least, there's still the possibility that this one can rebound in January. It definitely needs to stop dropping this week, though, or else Billboard will likely send it recurrent on next week's chart.

Yes, I'm glad you made me feel better in terms of believing that this has the" small" chance it isn't done (and glad as in confirming my gut feel, not because I enjoy the song cause I don't).
All the signs are there for this to be done but like jhomes87 said, we need to at the very least give this the next few days to see how this performs. The sudden loss of audience this week gives the impression this is done (which is very possible) but that Westwood station is paramount to that loss. I'm not saying this is not done but rather some slight skepticism on whether it truly is. But the fact still remains that "God Made Girls" has struggled mightily these past few weeks (which was pointed out a little further back in the thread) and this loss may be the indicator for radio to start letting this go, especially on the verge of the Christmas break (it is tough to ask for this song to hang on a month from now).
I give this a small chance to rebound but I agree that this is just about out of steam. Tomorrow and Saturday will tell us more.
BTW: This to me is now two consecutive singles that I feel iHeartMedia has missed on and that there were better choices to be had.

I do remember "Leave the Night On" had a really bad week while it was just outside the top 20, and ended up losing the bullet on both charts, presumably after all the iHeartRadio stations had given it the mandatory 150 spins and several decided not to keep the song in the same level of rotation once the On the Verge "period" was over. Sam Hunt's song ended up recovering the following week and heading straight to #1. With the pretty notable controversy surrounding "God Made Girls" I'm not sure I expect this to make the top 10 but I agree it may not be quite done and could last until February.

This is struggling but there's a really good chance that it's not yet done. I'm really hoping that it is done already though.

"God Made Girls" was able to gain some spins back (22 to be exact) but the it lost another 300k in audience. So far its down 2 million in audience on MB since Sunday (its lost at least some audience every day this week). It's evident to me that Valory will try and stick with this but it has to stop losing audience or it could be sent recurrent on Billboard.

This song is okay, reminds me a little of Miranda Lambert. But for some reason it just isn't clicking with me.

I could see Cledus T. Judd doing a hunting anthem parody called God Made Squirrels, just a thought I got to be honest; I heard this come on this afternoon and I was giggling pretty hard thinking back to this post. I hope Cledus visits Pulse. :)

This song came on the radio today while I was driving my mom to work, and she literally said "what the heck is this?" I told her I didn't like it either and she changed the station.
I just cannot stand RaeLynn's voice. Maybe she'll sound better on other songs, but this one is particularly bad, and I haven't really gone out of my way to listen to any of her other songs either. I also do not like the lyrics of this song, at all. It's honestly my least favorite song out there right now, and probably one of my least favorite songs of the year. I didn't hate it at first but now I can't change the station quick enough.
I'm all for new females breaking through but RaeLynn is at the bottom of my list, as to which ladies I would love to hear (more) on the radio.

Lol you quoted me on this exact post a while back and your responses to each are perfect. Though comparing her to a chipmunk is pretty dang insulting to chipmunks

See, this is exactly how I felt about her before this song dropped. I thought her live performances on The Voice of "Hell on Heels" and "If I Die Young," i.e. were tragic. But her performance of "God Made Girls" on the show a few weeks ago was a big change from what I remember when she was actually on the show. And I just love the studio cut -- including her vocals, which surprised me a lot -- and it was pretty instant for me. It's weird, I never cared for her before this song, but I fell madly in love with this and at this point, I'm pretty excited to hear what else she has on her debut album. "Love Triangle" and "For a Boy" both sound pretty promising from live performance videos, but those are the only two I know of.

I will say, reading the Entertainment Weekly lists, it's hard to really decipher whether their "best" or "worst" list is truly the worst lyrics. Honestly, "God Made Girls" has a better lyric than any of the other songs they posted imo, but I'm not going to delve into my disdain for modern pop music anymore than that lol.

I'm a little surprised at the amount of hate this song has garnered from Pulse. I think this is a pretty well done and catchy country song. The lyrics are decent enough and she has a distinct voice.

Can't speak for everyone who doesn't like the song here, but in my case her voice is just awful- nails on a chalkboard squeaky for me; almost like a version of a Chipmunks song. The way she stretches out 'Guuurrrls' is extremely annoying to my ear. The lyrics- insipidly sweet at best and annoyingly passive at worst. I have no problem with Shotgun Rider since Tim at least puts his significant other in the seat next to him whereas this one has lines stating God made girls specifically to flirt and wear pretty skirts, etc...... for boys. I thought it was a parody at first, but then realized it wasn't. I'm sure it is meant to not be taken so seriously (aimed toward teens?) but I found it almost more annoying than many Bro-Country. Of course everyone has different voices that are pleasing to their ear and I do agree the melody is catchy.

For every line about flirting and wearing pretty skirts, there's also ones like "Somebody's gotta teach him how to dance" or "Something that can wake him up and call his bluff and drag his butt to church." The female character in "God Made Girls" is not submissive -- the entire song plays off the relationship women have with men, and there's a balancing act between lines about her being a pretty complement to man as well as being there to keep him in line and not be a caveman. I mean think about it -- she's wearing a pretty skirt for him and he's washing his truck for her. They're both just trying to essentially impress the other. And it is very much aimed at a teen audience -- which makes sense given RaeLynn's age -- and with that in mind, I think this is a perfect look at the relationship between the genders, particularly at that stage in life. Plus, this song was written by three women (plus RaeLynn) that are all very talented writers: Lori McKenna, Nicolle Galyon, and Liz Rose. I'd be stunned if any one of those great songwriters wrote this song with intention of shortchanging their own gender, and from the way the lyrics are used in the song, I believe the whole gist of this song is how women are like the other half to man and together the two complement one another as equals.

I understand where you are coming from.....especially if you are male, as your signature indicates. But as a female, with a daughter I feel this really isn't a modern or even true look at much of gender relationship. I have nothing against looking pretty for guys or flirting (although of course the focus of the song is not how even though guys try to look pretty for girls and also flirt-it focuses on the fact that God made girls to do this for boys) but to me the overall song just comes off like sugarcoated cliche vs sweet nostalgia. Agreed the songwriters most certainly weren't trying to shortchange their gender, just write a successful song by appealing to that certain sentimental feeling; somewhat similar to the feeling one gets when thinking of driving down that 'back, dirt road'. I can see how it appeals to certain traditional values and what some view women should be (the sweet angel 'dragging his butt to church' , keeping men from being a caveman, etc ) and that is fine for those who may find that appealing but I think to a lot of teens/ young adults (especially females) this picture of the gender relationship is very cliched and dated. The lyrics could be found 'cute' to many I'm sure, but for me they just come off annoying, especially with her vocals. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan , but her romantic lyrics aimed at teens/young adults seem more real and less annoying to me as a whole. Obviously many enjoy the song, but many also find it polarizing or annoying, thus the 'hate' expressed here as jferstler mentioned

This is very much a polarizing song, and although the song may have been written to be a harmless cute song, there are other interpretations of the song (which is one of the things I love about music!) and 2 people could have 2 different views on the song.
The voice is very annoying, but singing along to it is so much fun for me, that I quickly forget about it! (But of course this is just me!)

Her 5 song EP titled "Me" is now available on iTunes. Kissin' Frogs sounds like a possible hit in my opinion.

"Kissin' Frogs" is a cute song but her vocals on that one sound like they'd be especially polarizing for radio. "Careless" actually stands out to me as the best candidate for a follow-up single, based on the selections from her EP. I could also see "Boyfriend" doing alright on country radio, too, while "Better Do It" sounds like it'd be polarizing like "Frogs."

I still love this song and I'm happy all the success it and Rae are achieving.
She also confirmed that her next single is not included on the EP.
