Think you T2 way too low. Recent duo of the year wins and number one singles give them at least cranking. Problem is that they're situation is worse than this time last year. Trans Am isn't doing much and they have no momentum. Maybe a C- but that's as high as I can go. Those awards were when they had no competition.

Same with Jon. Ashley is at least C since she's got her album on Blake's song from this year and I think she'll get some award noms. Cam and I think Chase are too soon.

But Danielle, Jon and Chase had only top 20 hits (Chase's a top 10 hit, but it plummeted as soon as Broken Bow pulled the plug off, and his second single is moving slowly). Ashley got a #1 more so for Blake Shelton (for Lonely Tonight). I don't think she'll get a hit as a solo artist. Cam will move to C-list when "Burning House" goes top 10.

Well it's been about a year since the last post so here goes nothing.
A List Chris Young? Thomas Rhett Blake Shelton Dierks Bentley Zac Brown Band Kenny Chesney Tim McGraw Eric Church FGL Sam Hunt Carrie Underwood Jason Aldean Luke Bryan Keith Urban
Potential/Borderline A listers Maren Morris Old Dominion Dustin Lynch Chris Stapleton Brett Eldredge Cole Swindell Brad Paisley Miranda Lambert Kelsea Ballerini Dan + Shay
B list or potential B listers Maddie & Tae (getting Two top 10s as a new artist guarntees a spot here) Lee Brice Brothers Osborne Jennifer Nettles Kip Moore Justin Moore Kane Brown Kacey Musgraves Jake Owen Jon Pardi Cam Little Big Town Rascal Flatts Cassadee Pope Reba Lady Antebellum (there's probably some interest going into the next project) Chris Janson Brandy Clark Ashley Monroe Hunter Hayes
C List (no particular order) Chase Rice A Thousand Horses Toby Keith Eli Young Band Joe Nichols Josh Turner David Nail Eric Paslay Scotty McCreery (visual profile and fanbase basically) Chris Lane Frankie Ballard Big & Rich LoCash Granger Smith Jana Kramer Martina McBride Trace Adkins Easton Corbin Billy Currington Chase Bryant Randy Houser Michael Ray Canaan Smith Craig Campbell Jerrod Niemann Tucker Beathard Brett Young Drake White The Band Perry (how much they were talked about this last year alone deserves recognition)

These 3 are pretty much guaranteed top 30 status with no matter what they release right now, while half the names on here are struggling to make the top 30 lol. Jake Owen has had 2 MONSTER hits in "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" and "Beachin'" and has sold pretty well his last two albums (one even went Gold), Little Big Town just won numerous awards and had one of the biggest hits of the year last year, and Lady A had one of the biggest country crossovers ever, and still are a huge relevant name. All 3 aren't at their peak right now, but there's definitely a good chance they all rebound. The Cassadee Pope thread has comments about this being possibly her last chance at the label with "Summertime". That's definitely not B-list status lol. Also, I'd personally still leave Chris Young on the B-list. I know he's had 2 big singles in a row, but I personally just don't hear enough buzz about his tours to put him on the A-list quite yet. I'd also feel pretty safe by putting Chris Stapleton on the A-list, even without radio airplay.

I have potential B listers, for Cassadee, Brothers Osborne and Lee since both have a decent enough of radio prescence and I can see them getting B list if they do well enough. For LBT, Lady A and Jake Owen. Little Big Town well I might have screwed that up. The others I stand by, Jake Owen has not been in the Top 10 for nearly 2 years. Lady A sales are down significantly, 747 didn't go Gold as they had 2 songs die in the teens "Freestyle" and "Long Stretch Of Love" there is no way A listers should qualify if they have songs stall in the teen. Chris Young, is tricky, so I took a guess honestly. Kane Brown: Sales are off the wall with this guy and they are amazing Brandy Clark: Such high critical acclaim and I imagine she will have an award show presence.

Kane Brown: Sales are off the wall with this guy and they are amazing Brandy Clark: Such high critical acclaim and I imagine she will have an award show presence. 1. Jake Owen is clearly about to have a top 10 hit right now though in "American Country Love Song", and radio has embraced it rather easily. 2. I agree that Lady A isn't A-list status anymore, I just have issue with them being in the same group as Cassadee Pope, who I'd probably stick on C or D list personally. 3. Kane Brown has definitely sold well but he still doesn't have a Gold record yet and I don't even think he's warmed up for somebody yet on tour? He might be there eventually, but c'mon he is D-list at best. 4. Brandy has critical acclaim but she has no hit songs and the sales aren't even that great. There good for her respective airplay, but guys like Don Henley and Jason Isbell have outsold her by a lot, with less critical acclaim.

Yeah, this is why I don't think these kinds of categories work out all that well. Anything shy of putting someone on the A-list seems difficult to do, imo.

A-list is tough, because there's up to three types of A-list:
Current top of charts and radio (FGL, Sam Hunt, Thomas, maybe Cole *ugh*) Veteran Acts who still top charts and radio (Jason, Luke, Carrie, Blake, Keith, Kenny) Legends who still tour well and have a big brand around their name (Tim, Garth, Reba)

This thread has been dead for a long time but I'm going to post here because a lot of things have changed since the last post. Apologies if this is against Pulse rules.Mid 2018Criteria- Amount of time since previous Top 5 (in months)
- Average speed of singles from current and previous albums (in weeks) (top 20 and above)
- Combined sales of current and previous albums
- Average sales of singles from current and previous albums
- Average Spotify streams of singles from current and previous albums
- Amount of time since first Top 5 (in years)
NOTE: THIS IS INCOMPLETE AND PROBABLY WILL BE UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR A-List
- Florida Georgia Line - 11,846 points
- Luke Bryan - 11,766 points
- Keith Urban - 11,046 points
- Carrie Underwood - 9,499 points
- Blake Shelton - 8,485 points
B-List B+ List
- Lady Antebellum - 6,264 points
- Dustin Lynch - 5,362 points (Might need to change the formula lol)
- Brad Paisley - 4,368 points
B- List- Darius Rucker - 2,710 points
I might just make a year-end post, because tabulating all of the numbers takes insanely long.

Was thinking about this today and was curious what people’s thoughts are through a more updated lens. For me A-List looks like:
Luke Bryan Jason Aldean Carrie Underwood Miranda Lambert Blake Shelton Florida Georgia Line Kenny Chesney Keith Urban Thomas Rhett Eric Church Chris Stapleton
Some newer artists are hard to say, like Old Dominion, Dan + Shay or Maren Morris, or even someone like Luke Combs. Or an act like Brothers Osborne, who has the profile and awards but not really the commercial heft. What does everyone else think?

I think the first four would be B-List artists, since they haven’t really established themselves as reliable hitmakers with fast rising singles (well, maybe Old Dominion), even though they’ve had multiple hits. Brothers Osborne is still on the line between B and C for me, because while they sell well enough, they still don’t have enough radio success in my opinion.

I also think there should be a legends tier. Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire would never be C or D list artists, though their careers are at different spots.
