Well I expected something awful for the live performance after comments. I'm not a big Miranda and especially Carrie (except for her ballads) fan but I thought it was pretty good. The words faded out at the end of sentences (they seemed out of breath? Lots of words to sing?) but the vocals and performance seemed fine. I guess the choreography could have been a little more interesting instead of stomping and waving arms in one small area but still.... Far from awful.
Spotify version is very erratic on my computer today for some reason, but it sounds good.
I'm sure it will be big, like everyone said. Will this take the place of a second Miranda single I suppose?

Honestly, I enjoyed Miranda and Carrie's "Somethin' Bad" debut performance! It was badass amazing and they were completely having fun and that's more important to me. I got a real good feeling "Somethin' Bad" will be a huge hit and I'm totally okay with it. Ha I admit I have SB on repeat since yesterday. I totally can't wait for the music video. ;)
Currently, SB is no. 3 on iTunes all genre. Good job ladies!

I will wait for a studio version to pop up before commenting. However, looking at their Billboard performance, Miranda Lambert was trying to look like Carrie Underwood. Someone suggested a catchy name for the duo. I am coming up with Lamwood or Woodlam for suggestions. This vocal collaboration will battle Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, and Thomas Rhett this summer for airplay and awards.

I love this song.
It sounds like 'GunPowder and Lead' meets 'Undo It / Last Name'.
Carrie really rocks the song.
EDIT : Will the airplay and spins from this song be counted for Carrie for the Mediabase/Billboard year end chart??
The airplay and spins of 'REMIND ME' weren't counted for Carrie since Carrie was featured as a 'duet'.
But i believe that SOMETHIN' BAD is a MIRANDA LAMBERT 'and' CARRIE UNDERWOOD song. Not Miranda Lambert 'feat' Carrie Underwood.

Did I hear the same song as everybody else? I thought the live version was horrendous and such a missed opprotunity. I havent gotten a chance to hear the studio version yet , but I cant imagine anything swaying me unless theres a completely new song jacked under this scream fest. Something Bad indeed.

If Automatic fails to hit #1 because of interest of Something Bad, then Miranda Lambert will gain entry on the list of those with the most #1s at five (she should be placed on that list after Florida Georgia Line gets their fifth with This Is How We Roll, becoming the 121st artist to do so). Carrie Underwood will also move up on said list at fourteen chart toppers. The #31 artist according to CMT: www.cmt.com/news/country-music/1727508/cmt-all-time-top-40-miranda-lambert.jhtml

Confirmed by Sony Music Nashville, Carrie & Miranda will perform this tune again on the CMT Awards next month. For the next live performance, they should add a verse for each of them to wailing on. The song is fine without a climax on the studio version. But live, this needs A LOT more. I'm thinking each of them sing the chorus (wailing) solo followed by a combined chorus to end. It just doesn't work live; it's too short and anticlimactic. I hope they figure something EPIC out.

Has anyone heard the song on the radio yet either from the live Billboard Awards show or the studio version of the song? I haven't seen it on the Mediabase chart as of yet but it has yet to make the Top 50 on said chart. The Hot 100 will only count Monday and Tuesday though but I can wonder if it has enough to break into the Top 20 on the Hot Country Songs chart or will we see a repeat of the 35 to 1 jump that Luke Bryan's "That's My Kind of Night" received when it was released.

Geez, this really does just END doesn't it? I don't know if it's because I'm listening on my laptop but the production sounds awful - I could barely make out their lyrics during the verses, which is a huge pet peeve of mine, especially when I'm listening in the car. If all I can hear is the music, and no words, I'm likely changing the channel. I don't have time for crappy wall of sound production. Hmph.
As for the song itself, it's alright. It's catchy, and it's obviously going to be a huge hit. I appreciate the Thelma and Louise theme. I'm glad they're having fun with it. I guess it's pretty much what I was expecting it to be, which I can't figure out if I appreciate or if I'm disappointed. Hm.

I'm a fan of both Carrie and Miranda but I have to be honest, I don't love this song.

Luckily I was able to take advantage of being a night owl and heard the YouTube version which was surprisingly, fantastic quality.
I've now heard the song again through spotify and while this kind of music is not what I would like to be dominating the radio, it's a nice change of pace and the feel is infectious. The lyrics are nothing special and the song ends in a very anti-climactic way but it's still a cool style of song. The live performance was just not that good (and I usually love Miranda and Carrie's live performances). So I'm glad the studio version was far superior. I think this will probably be officially sent to radio in June, but that won't stop this from having a steady climb up the charts ahead if time much like "Don't You Wanna Stay" and "Remind Me" did while "My Kinda Party" and "Old Alabama" were still technically being promoted and climbing the charts. Hopefully this won't put the kibosh on "Automatic's" #1 hopes but when you debut a song like this you always run that risk and I'm sure RCA was aware of that.

You said Hot 100. I am expecting Somethin' Bad to make a MAJOR dent on that chart. So it's possible that it will debut at #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart (mongrel chart) presuming that it will debut in the Top 10 on the Hot 100. If this occurs: 1. It will only be the second song to debut at #1 after Garth Brooks' "More Than A Memory" in 2007. 2. It will be the first time that two females debut at #1. 3. It will become the first Top 10 Hot 100 hit for Miranda and the 3rd for Carrie.

So I listened to this in the car while running errands, and it's a surefire smash. Doesn't translate live, but it's definitely a rocker and PERFECT for radio.

I hear the same song you hear. It's on the same level as Tim McGraw's "Looking For That Girl" to my ears. With all the bashing of Fla-Ga line, Thomas Rhett, Brantley Gilbert for bringing a lack of Country to the Genre, this is just more of the same and basically sounds like a big heap of noise to me.

Some stations will undoubtedly start playing this already, but I repeat: it has NOT been officially sent to radio yet, so don't expect it to enter the top 50 on Mediabase just yet. I don't think we'll see it on there for at least a few days yet, possibly longer than that. Sales alone will cause it to debut high on Hot Country Songs, but comparing it to Garth's #1 debut is silly, as the chart was airplay-only at the time. And in any case, I highly, highly doubt this would debut #1 on HCS. I believe that the sales tracking week for HCS is the same as the airplay tracking week, so Monday through Sunday. Thus, "Something Bad" will debut on HCS this Thursday with just a few hours of sales from last night...not nearly enough to get it to #1. I think a top 30 debut is possible, though. Then next Thursday, after a full week of sales, it will probably jump up quite a bit higher, but I can't see it getting all the way to #1, especially with "Play It Again" and "This Is How We Roll" still selling very well plus easily outdoing "Something Bad" in streaming and airplay.

I waited a couple of days to play this and was disappointed by what I heard. Count me out on this one. It's way over produced for my liking and reminds me of Kenny and Tim's "Feel Like A Rock Star" a little. This was also compared to Carrie's "Last Name" which I wasn't a fan of either.
