This has officially been made available to radio today according to Daily Play MPEAnd it officially goes for adds next Monday the 16th! :) A ton of stations have already added this though, including almost 50 today. It should basically complete the panel next week, I'd imagine.

68 of the 149 stations on the Mediabase panel have already added it, including 49 today; I expect both of those numbers will skyrocket this week, and this should reach the top 30 this weekend, which isn't too shabby considering that the adds date, which was a mortal lock to be ignored anyway, arrives on Monday.

Though I don't think it's such a great song in itself, I really do like the way their voices blend.

I was thinking about this earlier: the last solo female Billboard #1 single was Carrie's "Blown Away" in November 2012! That's amazing. It might not be until Carrie's next lead single until another solo #1.
I'm not crazy about this song though. I think I like the idea of an uptempo foot-stomper more than the actual result from these two. Despite that, I'm 100% rooting for Carrie and Miranda to take the top spot with it simply to represent the women of country music.

The 2010's have turned into the 1950's for the women of Country music. There is so much F'ed up with this genre right now, it's not even recognizable.

Rooting for it, for sure, because radio just needs some damn estrogen. But I just wish it had been a different song. Like I wish they'd done Little Red Wagon or something ... sassier, I guess. This song is fine for what it is, but I still want something more.

Now that this song has settled in on radio + I've spun the entire Platinum record to death and back twice, I can safely say that I'm content and happy with this song. Does it achieve the expectations I had for it prior to its release? No. Does that matter? No. It's a good song, it's fun to listen to and sing along to, and no matter what anyone says, I'll laugh at any argument claiming that even one bro-Country song is better than this. Yay for estrogen. And after reading zjames's post, I'm thinking that the next time a solo female hits #1 will be whatever/whenever Carrie releases something new (assuming she releases something once SB peaks since it'll be primetime for her to put out a lead single by then). Miranda can't seem to get a song up to the very top anymore. That's really damn scary.

She just hit #1 two weeks ago with one of the year's very best singles, and with a standout tune will absolutely TROUNCE some abominable bro-country tunes on the year-end charts @ Mediabase, including the super-excruciating 'This Is How We Roll' as well as the equally-if-not-more-gruesome 'Bottoms Up', with a couple more obnoxious tunes well within range over the final five months of this chart year.
I smell numerous Grammy and CMA nominations for 'Automatic' as well as for 'Platinum' as opposed to too many 'bro-country' bombast numbers to count including those just mentioned; look for this rousing number to pick up more adds on Monday, with at least a dozen or more stations quite likely to jump on the bandwagon.
I don't know if it will be the thunderous smash that 'Who Says You Can't Go Home' was a few years ago, but I'd love to see it happen, since we've all known for years that Ms. Nettles can certainly sing the **** out of anything just as these two songstresses can with a song such as this which is very definitely within their respective wheelhouses as they've both proven for several years running.
This is the type of song that all three of these ladies would undoubtedly get into a major league catfight over if it came to that.

She just hit #1 two weeks ago with one of the year's very best singles I thought "Automatic" peaked at #3? I think zjames was referring to (legit chart) Billboard solo female #1s, in which case, "Blown Away" was the last one for the 2 weeks of Oct. 27 and Nov. 3.

My God, if there are still females getting to #1 right now, that's all the more reason to follow it.

That way, Carrie has 18 #1s. It's not like the drought of females on Mediabase is a whole lot better than on Billboard, though, which is unfortunate.

She just hit #1 two weeks ago with one of the year's very best singles "Automatic" you mean? Wow. I think it's a pretty lame single. Anyway, I like "SB" but don't love it. I would love to see these two have success with it, though, for various reasons.

The gaps between songs on the country chart are crazy. "SB" has gained over 600 spins in the past week but only moved up 3 spots. Ha. It needs like 900 more spins just to move up 3 spots into the top 25. Wow.

This video is phenom. They stuck to the theme of the song and had a lot of fun with it. And they looked incredible. I stan Priscilla Parker so hard.

I can't get over the cleverness of making this into movie trailer. They used the briefness of the song to their advantage... It's not really long enough to play out an entire story, so they just made a movie preview of the story. It's honestly one of my favorite music videos, ever, I think. It's early, but they literally hit every component music videos should have. They have plenty of beauty shots, they follow a story, the creativity was top-notch, and it's completely original. They made me love this song even more!

I really, really like the video. I think it does a great job of building on the sexiness and attitude in the song. At first, I felt a little cheated because it did seem short and unfinished but carrieidol1 makes a good point about them recognizing the brevity of the song and presenting it as a trailer. So, that's why I recommend they film a 7 to 10 minute short film around the concept and release it when the song nears the top of the charts.

Absolutely love the video - so much so, it has made me appreciate the song more. I've had it stuck in my head all day. I love that it didn't completely follow the lyrics of the song, but instead gave it a lot more depth. Great costumes, Carrie and Miranda are fantastic, and I love the editing. Also cool to know that the video's storyline was conceptualized by Carrie.
I know Miranda has worked with Trey Fanjoy a lot before, but this was Carrie's first time with her and hopefully not her last.
