The video to this is pretty good. Definitely fits the song and both ladies are having a blast. Carrie looks amazing, too.
I am trying extremely hard but I am just not that into the song. It must be the most overrated thing on radio right now...and I'm a pretty big Miranda fan. Not awful by any means but just definitely very average.

I love the video (and so does my dad), but I still can't get into this song much.

#1 on Hot Country Songs as of this morning. It's the second chart topper on the mongrel chart for Miranda Lambert following her other duet with Keith Urban, We Were Us and it's the first for Carrie Underwood. Congratulations to both artists. If it tops the airplay chart, I can add Lambert's name to the list of those artists with the most #1s. The mid week update says it's Underwood's 13th #1. If you were to combine the old Hot Country Songs chart with the new, it's her 14th. Anyway, it's the #1 streaming country song.

She also jumps 84-19 on the HOT 100 and has officially got her highest charting song on that chart to date. "Mama's Broken Heart" is her second highest, that peaked at #20.

I keep thinking that, yes, this song is definitely Miranda material but I'm almost positive it would not be something Carrie would release as a single. Again, really great and interesting video yet the song is just average and missing a hook.

I wish this song would get more plays then it does, Country radio isn't eating this up like her other stuff :(

Hearing this a lot on radio, it's starting to click more with me. It's definitely more enjoyable to me when this comes on the radio than it does when I'm just listening to Platinum or my music library on shuffle. Also a perfect song to sing along to, that's for sure.

I really think this one is going to start to take off in a bigger way in the next couple of weeks. It's selling fairly well and the call-out scores are great. They've been going a bit more the slow and steady route the last few weeks, mostly because of big new releases from FGL, Jason, and Luke. The new Kenny and Lady A songs have also been getting a lot of love from radio, so that makes for a jam-packed top 20.
Chase Rice had a bigger week this week and re-passed Miranda & Carrie, with "Ready Set Roll" jumping 18-15 on Billboard while "Somethin' Bad" held at #17, but that looks to be a temporary move to me. Chase's song has at times shown signs of peaking in the last couple of weeks and his album is out soon too, so I can't imagine that song lasting for too much longer.
Going off tonight's chart, we can expect "Somethin' Bad" to go up ahead of and out-peak songs like "Later On" and "Dust" (as well as the aforementioned Chase Rice tune), and I think SB will pass Eric Paslay and Brantley Gilbert in the coming weeks, too. The only other song currently below SB on the chart that will probably go up quicker is Aldean's "Burnin' It Down". And of course we'll have to see how the new Blake, Taylor, and Garth tunes do in the next few weeks, but even big debuts by those songs likely won't get them ahead of Miranda & Carrie, as this song is now over 20 million and I think it's likely to hit 25 million in 2-3 weeks.

This is one of the few songs where I like both artists but absolutely loathe this song and its shouty, annoying vocals. Station-changer for sure for me, so I hope it picks up steam, zooms to the top and quickly disappears from my radio. The sooner it peaks, the sooner we can get another single from Miranda & possibly something brand new from Carrie.

I loved that performance from the CMA Music Festival shown tonight. They really feed off each other and seem to love performing it live together. Downloads and streams have been strong for a country song, but radio hasn't been following suit. Blech.

I loved that performance from the CMA Music Festival shown tonight. They really feed off each other and seem to love performing it live together. Downloads and streams have been strong for a country song, but radio hasn't been following suit. Blech. I wouldn't exactly say that. It's moving a little slower than a typical Miranda or Carrie single, but it's really just because almost every A-lister has a single out right now inside the top 25 (which is just uncanny). They can't all climb super fast. This is at #17 after 11 weeks on Billboard, but really it's only been at radio for 8 weeks (the first 4 chart weeks were from unsolicited airplay before the song had even been sent out). Lead singles from Kenny, Brad, Lady A, Jason, and FGL have really made it tough on other songs climbing up through the top 30 right now, and of course there's also a new Luke single (5th from his album, but he's white hot right now), plus a Dustin Lynch lead single, the corporate backing of Sam Hunt, and big hits from Dierks and Tim, plus new tunes from Brantley Gilbert, ZBB, and Eric Church. And the ZBB and Eric Church songs are the ones that have been negatively impacted the most. Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts, and Keith Urban aren't exactly blazing up the charts right now either. Anyway, like I said in my last post, I think it's only a matter of time 'til this starts to really take off and blaze through the top 15 like you'd expect a Miranda and/or Carrie single to do. Billy Currington and Joe Nichols are on the way down now, and Lee Brice will probably start downward next week. Chris Young is already recurrent on Billboard and will leave the Mediabase chart on Sunday as well. And then we have Eric Paslay who looks about ready to peak, as well as slower-movers Brantley Gilbert, The Swon Brothers, and Chase Rice. I'd expect the Brantley/Thomas Rhett/Justin Moore song to eventually hit #1 but it's likely to take a slower route to get there. The Swon Brothers and Chase Rice will be lucky to hit the top 10, and I definitely don't see them out-peaking "Somethin' Bad". So with a handful of songs getting ready to slide down the chart, I'd look for a lot of that airplay to go to that next big 'batch' of songs sitting outside the top 10, which includes "Somethin' Bad" as well as other songs like "Small Town Throwdown", "Cold One", "Sunshine & Whiskey", "Day Drinking", and "Somewhere In My Car" (I left out some of the older songs like "Later On", "Song About A Girl", "Ready Set Roll", and "Dust" as I think they will all run out of steam prior to hitting the top 10...perhaps 1 of the 4 will eek out a top 10 peak though).

I really like this one. There's a lot of energy and I think Carrie and Miranda sound great together. The production is gritty, but not messy like Frank Liddell's production can get at times. I also like how there are semi-subdued sections, like the "whoa, something bad, whoa, something bad" breaks where all you hear is the vocals and drums. I just think it's fun and catchy in a good way.
Not to put any of you down, but I really get the feeling that a lot of the people on this forum have a super-low tolerance for "fun" songs...

This has been one song that I liked when I first heard it, but now after some more spins I'm not a fan of anymore. It's just seems really half-assed for lack of better words. "Automatic" was way better. I wish there was either more to the story or it rocked a little bit harder. I don't hate it, but I don't go out of my way to listen to it either. I hope "Little Red a Wagon" is the 3rd single.

By far my least favorite song off the (amazing) Platinum album, the video's actually good but not one of the cases where it "saves" the song. And I'm even more baffled that Priscilla looks to be next. Another Sunday In The South, Girls, Smokin and Drinkin, Platinum and Little Red Wagon should've all been singles over these two.

Not liking a "fun" song for whatever reason doesn't mean that the individual has a low tolerance for fun. Overlooking bad qualities in a song (poor lyrics, vocals, production, etc.) simply because it's "fun" just doesn't make any sense, and it's a poor excuse that by nature of a song being "fun," quality is of less importance. And that's not my opinion of this tune either, because I've grown to like this one more and more since it's release despite initially being very underwhelmed by it, but I found your statement flawed and had to comment.

This is really just my perception. Overall, it seems that this group often has fewer nice things to say about more "fun" type songs other than "oh, it's okay" or "it's not too bad, but underwhelming". I'm not saying that "oh, it's just a fun song" should be used as an excuse to overlook flaws — although I admit I'm a bit more able to overlook flaws in a "fun" song than a "serious" one myself — but at least from my POV, it just seems that songs like this generally garner fewer positive comments in this forum, and I always wonder why that is. Are most people around here just more discerning than I? Keep in mind, this isn't a complaint about you guys being buttoned-down and joyless, just an observation.

This has grown on me quite a bit, but I still have such a major issue with it just ending. Like...the last chorus just stops when the song really heats up.

What I like most about this single is the video. I haven't listened to this song since the video release to be honest.

This is not surprising at all given her relationship with NBC Sunday Night Football. In fact, I'm sure it was part of her original contract that she'd get a halftime performance show once it cycled back to NBC. I mean, this seems obvious. Other than the obvious business connection, Carrie will be an entertaining performer & one I'll look forward to. The halftime show generally is a high energy set, and having seen Carrie in concert, I always thought she brings more of a rock concert experience than a country concert, anyway, which should please the suits. She's got plenty of recognizable, rockish singles (aka her scoundrel songs) to pull from that will go over great, I'm sure.

So... thoughts on chart performance of this song? I had hoped it would be almost to the top aka off the radio by now to make way for a better single from Miranda. I am curious to see if people think this will get to #1 naturally considering the pretty high negatives or will the label make an annoyingly obnoxious push to force this to the top? It looks like it's selling well but it's had some uneven updates over the last couple of weeks, so I have no idea, to be honest.
