"The Way I'm Livin'" will be going for adds on June 23, one week after Sunny Sweeney's song goes for adds. June is gonna be great! :) Source

This is a great song, but unfortunately I can't see it having much major market radio success. I hope it can at least sneak into the top 60 for a few weeks.

Don't forget folks that this is now available on iTunes! LAW kills it on this song.

^^^^Yet another indictment of the underwhelming state of today's country radio, alongside the indefensible chart run for 'I Got A Car'.

So I guess this isn't even going to chart. I knew it wouldn't be a big hit, but I was hoping it would at least log a few weeks on the bottom of the chart. How disappointing.

I was actually surprised this hardly got any adds because while Lee Ann has never been a huge force at country radio and hasn't had a hit in a long time, I expected some modest curiosity for her comeback given her critical acclaim and name recognition. It's too bad because this is just a stellar track and LAW remains an incredible vocalist.

I wish I could feign some sort of shock & surprise that this isn't garnering any support from radio but lets face it.... theres several reasons why mainstream "country" radio is treating this like poison. (a). She's over forty years old. (b). This is an actual country song , with some slight instrument changes would even border on Bluegrass. (c). Not a tailgate in sight. (d). She has a vagina.
I'm just happy to get a new single/ album from a lady I personally consider to be the greatest living female voice in country music today. And hopefully it will find enough success where Lee Ann can FINALLY start releasing new music on a semi regular basis. Bottom Line: Lee Ann Womack is to good for mainstream radio. The last thing I want to see is her prostitute herself out to the ridiculous whims that radio is demanding of not only female singers but singers in general today.

She's on Sugar Hill Records. I'm certainly not saying that Lee Ann's age and gender, along with the type of traditional country music she sings doesn't have anything to do with it cause it obviously does but the label she's with now is a huge deciding factor unfortunately. Sugar Hill usually has artists who have seen better commercial days or artists who play music that doesn't suit modern country radio. It was nice seeing a couple small adds for Lee Ann's song in the weekly chart issues and I wasn't ruling out this sneaking into the top 60 at some point, but I'm not surprised at all.
Either way it's great to see Lee Ann delivering fans new music and I'm just thankful she's continuing making stellar country music.

I just heard this flawless song on the newly launched 'Nash-Icon' station (WLAW) in Muskegon, MI, and suffice it so say, she sounds as wonderful as ever, and looks absolutely ravishing as she celebrates her 48th birthday tomorrow (8/19).
An absolute masterpiece, and the latest in a long line of them from this incomparable singer, and suffice it to say that these NASH-Icon stations are a godsend for those of us who want real country music as opposed to the overwhelming amount of marginal stuff out there these days.
The newly-launched one in nearby Oxnard, CA (KRRF) is barely into a 10,000 song marathon without commercials, and having heard Randy, Ronnie Milsap, Reba, Patty Loveless, Don Williams, Alabama and a slew of other format legends within the last hour, major props are definitely in order to Lew Dickey of Cumulus Radio for giving baby-boomers such as yours truly true country music to listen to.

It was the Cumulus block that added this. Cumulus' Nash Icon stations have been giving this some spins as well, but the stations that flipped to Nash Icons have been removed from the Billboard panel (not enough current music played) and I'm guessing they'll be removed from the Mediabase panel as well, if they haven't already.
According to AllAccess, these are the 13 Mediabase stations that added "The Way I'm Livin'":
KATC - Colorado Springs KATM - Stockton, CA KHKI - Des Moines KIIM - Tucson KPLX - Dallas KRST - Albuquerque KUBL - Salt Lake City WFMS - Indianapolis WGKX - Memphis WIVK - Knoxville, TN WKDF - Nashville WKHX - Atlanta WNSH - New York City
And just a reminder (most here probably know this, but for those who don't..), Billboard's add system is an auto-add system, which simply means that a song is counted as "added" whenever a station gives it first-time spins. So my guess is that these 13 Cumulus stations doubled as adds on both the BB and MB panels, and that there were 5 additional stations (Cumulus or otherwise) that maybe spun this song 1-3ish times this past week but didn't yet report the song as an "add" to Mediabase (but it did count as a Billboard add; thus the discrepancy between 18 and 13).

I was just going to say, that seems like a block add to me (though I'm nowhere near as good as jhomes87 at figuring out which stations are which). I'm hoping that this means it'll at least chart (and the New & Active appearance makes me optimistic), but I guess time will tell.

I'm hoping that this means it'll at least chart (and the New & Active appearance makes me optimistic), but I guess time will tell. If the Nash Icon stations were on the panel, I think this would have enough audience to rank in the top 60. My hope is that they will eventually create a separate chart to track airplay on Nash Icons stations, even if its only a spins-based chart. I understand why those stations aren't on the main BB chart anymore (since they only play about 25% current music), but I still think it'd be cool for some company (BB or MB) to publish an airplay chart for the Nash Icons stations, that includes spins for the newer music they are playing as well as all the Gold titles. Anyway, thanks for the compliment! I was sure that it was a block add, and even though the main AddBoard website is no longer accessible, you can still access a list of station adds on AllAccess beginning on Tuesday afternoon/evening of each week. You just have to hover over the "Mediabase" drop-down menu, and then click on Airplay Add Board. From there you can click the blue "stations" link for each song, to get a list of the new adds for each song. And I've basically memorized which station call letters are Cumulus ones and which ones are Clear Channel (and CBS and so on), but if I forget, there's always Wikipedia to help me remember, lol

^Love it! Is it September 23rd yet?? It's a shame there's no place for a song/artist like this on country radio... other than some spins here and there on Nash Icon stations.

It's a damn shame that Lee Ann Womack is not getting the support she usually has at Country radio. She is such an excellent singer at Country radio.I hope the CMT Crossroads episode she'll be doing with John Legend gets her more fans.

Terrific album. This is the example I should use (along with the one I've been using, Pam Tillis's Rhinestoned) when I get trapped into wasting time arguing that country radio has no time to play women, only girls, but the women are out there making great music and living without the airplay.
This is amazing material, arranged perfectly and sung with tenderness and desperation. There is no point to listing favorites from this one. The whole album shakes me up.
