According to Chip Esten (he tweeted it) Florida Georgia Line will be performing Dirt on Nashville tomorrow. I know it's been posted that they'll be performing on the show but I don't think I've seen them mention what song until this.

After how wrong my prediction was about "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" not going #1, I'm taking a rain check on making predictions about "Dirt," but I will note that at the current rates "Dirt" and "Burnin' It Down" are gaining audience on Billboard, "Burnin'" could catch "Dirt" before it makes #1. I'm not saying this will happen, but I am saying that I wouldn't put it past Broken Bow Records to attempt such a scenario.
On a separate note, I've noticed that Republic Nashville, one of 2013's top labels (#1 on Billboard and #2 on Mediabase if I recall correctly) currently has only one song on the entire chart right now, "Dirt" of course. If the Republic Nashville promo team is fighting like apes, then I'd hate to say how squirrels fight. All kidding aside, at risk of presenting confirmation bias, I have to wonder if some of the Clear Channel stations have been holding back on playing some Big Machine records due to the Big Machine-Cumulus "Nash Icons" venture. For example, "Dust" may not have been a big digital seller, but the record had great Callout scores and digital sales for top 5 hits from B- and C-listers have been much worse (see "Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About" for an idea of just how bad a song can sell and still go top 5 with a strong label behind it).

I like Anything Goes, but I've heard better from them. It kind of reminds me of Tell Me How You Like It from the first record, which in my opinion was the weakest song on the album. Aside from that one, I could listen to the whole album start to finish and be very impressed and engaged. I'm hoping this album is the same way. A lot of their songs have great listenability (and singalongability, both of which should be words), regardless of whether or not I think some should be on country radio.

From Country Aircheck: Tour dates and venues can be found here. They also stopped by NBC's Today to talk about the album and the tour, and they even assisted Al Roker in a brief look at the weather forecast for the Florida-Georgia line ( view here).

I can't imagine BMLG will let this not make #1 but they'd better step on it with some strong updates or Burnin' It Down will pass it up and I can't see BID with only one week at #1.
I still really love this song & think it would be a shame if this didn't hit the top.

Aldean really cooled off in today's Mediabase update (after a huge Wednesday morning update) so I think FGL will be #1 on Mediabase this Sunday as well as on Billboard on Monday.

Slightly off topic, but FGL is on the cover of Billboard this upcoming week. I read about half the story and just had to stop. The article doesn't beat around the bush at all on FGL's music, and inside the life of the group. The fact that they are changing country music into Shinedown/Nickelback/Three Days Grace is bad enough, but this section made me not want to EVER EVER EVER hear the new album:
What's striking about Anything Goes is how closely it duplicates FGL's previous records. One example: It'z Just What We Do, FGL's 2012 digital EP, had a song that rhymed "party" with "Bacardi," Here's to the Good Times had a song that rhymed "party" with "Bacardi," and now Anything Goes has "Sun Daze," a song that rhymes "party" with "Bacardi." The lyrics rely heavily on mentions of beloved musical acts, from Bob Marley to Shania Twain, and a barrage of alcohol brand names. Of the 12 songs on Anything Goes, two mention Friday, and three mention Saturday. Four mention whiskey, three include beer brands, and 10 use the word "night."
Country music is shifting back towards something more traditional eventually, right?

^^^^We don't really know yet although I certainly hope that the deluge of new music from several format superstars will lead to a much better year for country radio in 2015 than 2014, easily the worst year for country music in my 18 years as a country music listener.
The recurrent airplay for 'Stay' has been downright normal throughout the entire year as opposed to the unprecedented recurrent airplay for 'Cruise' so much so that 'Stay' might not make the year-end top 20 at Mediabase, with this turn of events on the charts coming only one year after they placed two songs in the year-end top five.

The big update for "Burnin' It Down" Wednesday morning was due to Jason Aldean performing the song on a syndicated 30-minute album promotion special on all iHeartRadio stations. "Dirt" will have no problem getting to #1 this week. Capitol Nashville was trying to get "Roller Coaster" a second week at #1, but their plan didn't work at all and most radio stations seem to have knocked "Coaster" into lower rotation this week. "Dirt" is already tracking at #1 according to the real-time Billboard #1/most added ticker and the single is only 25 spins below Luke Bryan's single on the Mediabase chart, so "Dirt" should be #1 on Mediabase by tomorrow. Maybe Capitol will do a great job of working the Mediabase points system and just barely keep the Luke Bryan single at #1 on the Mediabase chart for a second week as they did with "Drink a Beer," but I expect this week's #1 to be "Dirt" on both charts and "Burnin' It Down" to begin a two- or three-week reign at #1 next week.

This got its #1, and in its album release week too, which is great timing for FGL and Big Machine. I expect this to take a pretty big hit this week, and also for "Sun Daze" to start really moving now.

listened to the previews. Only songs I really enjoy are this one and Smoke. Can tolerate the final 3 tracks as well as Anything Goes & Sippin' On Fire. Outside of that it's pretty much the same old crap. I hate saying that, because I haven't been as hard on them as others have. I do enjoy their sound they bring overall, but If they continue releasing the same stuff over and over again. They won't last. I give them maybe one more album cycle.
