Artist: JT Hodges Single: "Already High" Label: Show-Dog Universal Add Date: June 16th Source: All AccessAudio: HereIt seems "Lay It Down" will not be the official next single, as "Already High" is up via All Access. I'm sure the audio will be up very soon with the add date less than three weeks away. Perhaps someone has the mediabase player link? I really wish he was on another label, as his first two singles vastly under performed imo and "Sleepy Little Town" was fantastic, though not all that surprised that one didn't do so well, as it wasn't the most radio friendly tune.

The chorus of this song is pretty good, just like I thought the chorus of "Goodbyes Made You Mine" was.
He has a song called "Lay It Down" and I really love that one.

I love this! Of course, I thought JT's debut album was phenomenal too. This is just fun, catchy, and even a little silly...but it's an instant favorite for me.

If I was optimistic before the June 16th add date (and I really wasn't to be honest), then I'm certainly not now about "Already High's" chances at radio. Just 8 total adds on add date with 10 stations overall on the MB panel. It somehow seems to be only getting worse for Show-Dog Universal when it comes to their artists getting airtime on country radio. It's very disappointing because JT and Joel Crouse are very talented and have showcased great releases like "Sleepy Little Town", "Goodbyes Made You Mine", "Hunt You Down", "Oh Juliet" and "Why God Made Love Songs", but are unable to get a breakthrough single.

I'm wondering how much life ShowDog-Universal has left? The can't seem to get anybody a hit even with such great songs like this. Hopefully this will be a slow climber and maybe take off sometime down the road, but I should know better by now right?

This went for adds a full month ago and still hasn't charted. It's "New & Active" on Billboard tonight but with only 186k in total audience. Ugh, I really wish JT was with a better label than Show Dog. This seems to be selling pretty well and it's getting strong early feedback. I've heard it on several smaller stations but not on any monitored ones.
"Already High" is far from my favorite JT song (his debut album was incredible), but I still really enjoy this one. The best part about it is his voice...I just find it so incredible.
I really feel that if JT was with a different indie label such as Big Machine, Broken Bow, or even Black River or RPM that he could do some damage on the charts (and obviously he'd have a much better chance at success if he were with Sony, UMG, or Warner too).

ShowDog is Toby Keith only, the only big name there, so no need too much promotion to get a hit, the other poor artists which have better songs don't get it without promotion.

It's just a case of the promo teams not perhaps doing enough to promote their artists as well as they could. I don't see them folding any time soon.

I like this song. Much better than some other popular stuff from males right now. Video isn't bad but the lip-syncing in the first half of the video is off or something just looked odd to me. I hope this song does something for him.

"Already High" is pretty much done. It lost 33 spins this past week as it fell to just 21 spins overall on MB. It never reached the top 60 on both MB and Billboard.
I know I sound like a broken record, but Show Dog-Universal is struggling mightily.

^agree with sabre14 Showdog can pick talent but they sure can't promote it, this song sounded perfect for radio. Hell this might even be the first year in forever that Toby won't release an album

I know I sound like a broken record, but Show Dog-Universal is struggling mightily. Part of their problem is some at radio think they're just a boutique for Toby and that nobody else really matters. They seem to think that the label doesn't have $$ to keep going, lest they get behind an artist like they did Craig Campbell and then watch his label fold. I don't think Show Dog will fold anytime soon so I don't know why the label is treated like the plague with radio. It's confusing.
