I hope she gets inspired for this video and we get something colorful and fun to look at. Even if it's just her doing a fake performance on a platform in a late 70s attire and people rollerskating around her with disco lights.

Hated this at first, now it's my favorite off the album. Wish Mariah would do more uptempos. Really curious to hear how they treated the beginning of the song with the radio edit.

Love this!!! Please smash. I've loved everything from the start of this era, but this is probably right up there with #Beautiful. I even like wale on this. Yas Mimi get that summer windows down smash.

Wale ruins what could have been a decent song.

Wale ruins what could have been a decent song. Worry not, there is a radio edit with no rap in the song. You'd probably like it if you don't like the one with rap.

Does it eliminate just the rap verses, or also the unnecessary babble where it sounds like he makes fun of down syndrome kids as well?

Something here reminds of "American Boy" by Estelle and Kanye.

A Radio Edit feat. Wale (4:05) and a No Rap Version (3:45) have been serviced to Pop and Rhythmic stations this morning. Apparently this is the new official single from Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse. Impact date is early June. Well, if this doesn't save this era and get her back in the top 10, I'm convinced nothing ever will.

If the adds date isn't until the end of the month, the album will probably be almost (if not completely) off the Billboard 200 by then. I can't see stations jumping on this when the album has been branded a bomb for a month already. There doesn't really appear to be much in the way of promo lined up. The album hasn't even been out a week, and this project feels over and done already. It's starting to look like a contract-fulfillment type of album, which is a shame because it's being regarded by critics and fans as one of her best.

Is this one of the songs that had been done more recently, or was it done a long time ago?

Is this one of the songs that had been done more recently, or was it done a long time ago? The only songs she hadn't recorded by last summer were the two covers and "Money". After the album was delayed, she did continue working on the tracks that were already recorded to be released on the album last summer (added/changed some vocals, adjusted the mixing, etc.), but this song was not conceived of recently.

If the song is serviced digitally and given the chance to be played as soon as this coming week, the adds date will become a formality.

Well, technically the song was available to stations a week ago. This week they're targeting the stations that supported "You're Mine". The adds date isn't until the end of the month though. As far as adds dates being a formality, at this stage of Mariah's career and given first week sales projections, she most likely needs an adds date for a station to consider whether or not to add her songs. "Thirsty" got a handful of adds because the label sent promotional material to urban stations calling it the focus track.

Well if they're targeting the stations that supported 'You're Mine' they sure as hell are limiting it. Hopefully the track gets a good response so the adds date comes sooner. I think they'll base themselves on reaction to set it.

I think they'll base themselves on reaction to set it. The strategy is most likely to give special treatment to those stations that have been treating Mariah well and get them on board early. If the song tests well on those stations, when it goes for adds and they're focused on a broader target, it will increase the likelihood that additional stations will get on board at that point.

Mariah and this album has absolutely no momentum going on right now. If they don't release this immediately, the album will immediately fall out of the charts and the radio will be even more less likely to play this because the album flopped. Unless they have something under their sleeves to launch the single and album, they need to push this early to (at the latest) mid-June, not at the end of the month.

I'm sensing Mariah and the label have a feud and they are just gonna let this album flop to show her who's the boss.

Fuck label feuds. Mariah needs to take her ass out to times square and post up, people would lose it.

Yeah, after all the long delays and work that was put into the album, it does feel that way, which is pretty sad. It'd be great to get at least one more album from her that is properly promoted.
Hopefully radio stations will jump on this early, as an adds date at the end of June is way, way too late.

Would have been better had they released this right after #Beautiful. Heck this would have been a better single released first before #Beautiful

Yep. This is almost definitely the new single. I mean, it has to be, if her manager is retweeting tweets about YDKWTD.
