A retro video ala Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox era is all I want from Mimi for this song. I will fu**in send her a howler if she re-creates the "Beautiful" video for the umpteenth time.

Would be nice to get a single cover, a lyrics video, anything!! That's why this entire era and song (regardless of the hit potential and pleading from fans/the public to get it out) reek from IDJ and Mimi (but prob. more IDJ) looking at this as a contractual obligation then flush! (as she's prob. as eager to flush them). It's ALL about actions. The Today show performance was a month ago. The internet lit almost instantly up w/ universal praise for YDKWTD. No action on anyone's part. A full week after the album drops...barely a baby step forward since the Today Show performance (still no concrete confirmation or enthusiasm about the song from Mariah, her team or ANYone at her label). Everything is just mute or indifferent at best. W/ all the time going by and the album likely to plummet next week, by the time (if) they start to push this, how on earth is it all going to work (radio or public interest). Bottom line...this pulsates from something personal and corporate politics. Even after all the poorly received singles over the past few years, if you get 200% confirmation from the public you have a potential hit..possibly a big one, you *get it out weeks before the album. Forget about an official video or waiting for radio approval..just 'get it out there period' (lyric video on You Tube, iTunes single release, Mariah talking about it left and right...everywhere). Instead, the only places we've seen her have been in Monoco, on a subway recently lol and w/ her kids. Obviously the latter is the most important, but based on the actions and esp. the timing now, this song is deflating rapidly by the second.

One of my favs on the album. But this will flop epically. The intro is too long and isn't going to work on radio and don't even get me started on Wale. This needs a severe edit to make any kind of dent.

This needs a severe edit to make any kind of dent. There is a radio edit version where the majority of it is cut off (4:05) and a version where all of Wale's parts including the one in the intro is omitted (3:47), so it shouldn't really be a problem. Oh and also a faded version where the last 28 seconds are cut off and it ends in the middle of the final chorus (4:20).

Oh nice! I really want to hear those. Even with edits, I still don't see Pop embracing this. It's the most single ready song on the album though, so at least they're giving it a shot I guess.

I'm excited. This is truly what she needs to push out to help out the era. And honestly, if this one can't do anything at all or even make a dent on the charts, then unfortunately nothing else can tbh. This is why they need to push this hard because it has potential.
I see this out peaking You're Mine but I'm not sure how long the run will be and if this will even catch on and do extremely well since radio is ageist and all the bad press about her album flopping. I hope it does though!

This song is undeniably catchy and the perfect compliment to a summer breeze. IMO the perfect radio edit would be eliminating the into (both Mariah's and Wale's) and keeping the rest. I actually like Wale's second verse.
If Mariah is willing to promote this and MAKE people hear it, she could get a hit with this. Everyone I've played it for has loved it saying "wow, this is like old-school Mariah".

I need a retro glam video for this! And a flawlessly lipped live performance somewhere, anywhere to remind the public of how great the song is.

Does anyone think Mariah could possibly got a performance slot at the BET Awards? It'd be a good start in the terms of performance/promotions and then they can start rolling the ball afterwards with even more performances across television shows.

When an official announcement is made, presumably on Twitter/Facebook, we'll see the real cover. But it is probably the first one as Jermaine Dupri retweeted that and said he liked the fan-made covers better than the one the label provides them with. And don't forget, #Beautiful had the fan-made cover as the official one too!

I hope they get rid of the intro. I like it for the album version but, I can't see radio playing it.

Yep, minimal to no way will the minute or so 'intro' work on today's radio main demographic attention span of 5 seconds lol. Disco songs in the 70s and 80s frequently were all about the slow, soulful heavily vocal beginnings. But tweens, teens etc..are climbing on walls today (w/ instant everything) and only want the climax/ fast jamming beats asap (Get Lucky, Blurred Lines and Treasure all cut to the 'chase' right away). All about the instant twerking, 2/3 nude in the club in 15 seconds lol, club banger friendly beats. :#. The song itself is very good but still think it will have a hard time on pop radio unless the *perfect mix is submitted and somehow catches on. That's only the first obstacle/ least of it. Won't even go into everything else that's tainted this era so far.

The song has been digitally delivered to Top 40, Rhythmic and Urban radios, indicating impact date is June 30th.

Guess they will wait one or two more weeks before they set pop adds date. Now all key radios and markets have received this song, let's wait and see how they are gonna react to this "public-favorite"!

Don't know if the song has been fully green lit for play now or not until in/ around the 'official adds date' (though I've heard many say that's just a formality) and radio rarely waits if they love a song. Regardless, the fact I'm seeing June 30 (still another 10 days from now)! :/ =another week of and change lost. Obviously, the fans love the song and the public is reacting favorably. However, regardless of the quality of the song and singer, that doesn't guarantee anything. Back to square one- if there were NO prior buzz/focus etc..singles, this era wasn't what it was/turned out to be, and YDKWTD was her *first or second official single after #B* and came out a month or so before the original album release date(May 2013)it def. would've had a better shot than it will now (as it prob. would've gotten a radio deal, promo etc..). No idea how it's going to do now but based on logic and the execution of everything this era...well, been said too many times. Smart of them though to initially 'push' it to her safest formats Urban and Rhy. Still, doesn't mean much (if pop wants it, they'll suck it up pretty quickly).

And about Pop, do you know for sure that they're waiting for a bit more? I'm afraid they're not going to release it to Pop until it peaks on RHY and URBAN like most Urban artists does today. That'll be a bad move on their part. A week or two later will be fine.

There are like 4 edits delivered already, but we got no album version. There is one 4:05 edit starting with the end of the intro, a 3:47 No Rap Edit cutting off all Wale's vocal, a 4:20 version fading out at 4:15 of the song, a new 4:08 version with a new edited clean intro with her adlibs and Wale's rap kicks in right after the piano intro, IMO, the last one is the best and we've been asked to play this version.
