Either current artists, regional artists or former artists that shouldn't be forgotten, if you could introduce 2 or 3 artists to your Pulse colleagues, who would you recommend? What albums or songs would you recommend? My two introductions/recommendations: Cody Johnson Bandwww.thecodyjohnsonband.com/This guy is the REAL DEAL and has incredible energy in concert (I've seen him play before 750+ in Austin Texas and just recently in a small club in Lansing Michigan to probably 100 and he had the same energy and the crowd was going wild in both settings). He has a strong voice, fun catchy tunes, heartfelt tunes. He's big in Texas and just won Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the fourth Annual Texas Regional Radio Music Awards earlier in 2014. His latest album "Cowboy Like Me" entered the Billboard Top Country Albums at #7 earlier this year (if I recall correctly). I can tell you that I have tried to take this album out of my truck's CD player and have been unsuccessful for the past four months; I just keep playing it over and over again. A former Texas Department of Criminal Justice employee, Cody has put out three albums: Six Stings One Dream (2009), A Different Day (2011), and Cowboy Like Me (2014) - which was produced by Trent Willmon. Standouts from each album include: Six Strings: Pray For Rain, Slam The Door and Texas Kind Of Way. A Different Day: Guilty As Can Be, Diamond In My Pocket, A Different Day, Ride With Me, I Don't Care About You, Jesus Ain't Watching Cowboy Like Me: Dance Her Home (1st single), Me And My Kind (current single), Lucky, Bottle It Up, Cowboy Like Me, Give A Cowboy A Kiss, Never Go Home Again Two Cody Johnson clips (lyric video for the first one and live song for the second) Josh Abbott Band:www.joshabbottband.comAlso from Texas,Josh Abbott founded the band in 2006 in Lubbock, Texas, while attending Texas Tech University. I haven't been lucky enough to see him in concert (haven't been back to Texas since I discovered him, but he is coming to Chicago this summer so I am thinking a road trip is in order). His songs are a bit more Texas-centric, but have great heart and are a lot fun. JAB has four releases to date: Josh Abbott Band (2008), Scapegoat (2008), She's Like Texas (2010), and Small Town Family Dream (2012) Recommendations from his last two albums: She's Like Texas: Road Trippin', She's Like Texas, Oh Tonight (w/ Kacey Musgraves), All Of A Sudden Small Town Family Dream: I'll Sing About Mine, My Texas (w/ Pat Green), Touch, She Will Be Free (powerful video), Idalou Two JAB clips, and I'm thinking the first one many of you already know given the love for Kacey on PMB:

Great idea for a thread. I was hoping something like this would be created. On your recommendation I listened to Josh Abbott Band's Small Town Family Dream for the first time just now and really liked it, with my favorite tracks being "I'll Sing About Mine", "Flatland Farmer", and "Hell's Gates on Fire." I can't wait to hear his earlier stuff. Not familiar with Cody Johnson, but I liked the two songs you posted. One of my favorite country artists that many people here might not be familiar with is Guy Clark. He's a legendary songwriter whose compositions have been recorded by numerous artists including George Strait, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Emmylou Harris, and Ricky Skaggs. I'm a big fan of almost all of his albums, but my favorites are probably Old No. 1, Dublin Blues, and The Dark. Here are three of my favorite songs by him: L.A. Everyone should check out the derailers. Texas based Bakersfield blend of country. Great music. Along with whitey Morgan and the 78s if you like outlaw country. Sunny sweeneys little known debut album Heartbreakers hall of fame is excellent. And also Jason eady. Great traditionalist with a middle finger to today's country

This thread is strictly for fun, along with allowing everyone the chance to post Country artists or bands that we SHOULD already know if we don't know already :)
Could be a major label artist that is new and simply hasn't hit the scene or have made a big impact on the scene just yet, or it could be an upcoming Indie artist that is just as good as any majors out there and should have a deal themselves.
Just post a link to a video of the artist or soundcloud link or website and the artists name, label they are signed too if signed and if you have any other information on them.
I'll get the ball rolling below. Feel free to post away whenever

MO PITNEY - signed to CURB RECORDS. I really wish Curb would put out a single for this young artist already. He is amazing in my opinion and is REAL country!

MARCUM STEWART - was one half of the duo Acklen Park that had minor success on the radio with "Great American Song". Just recently released his album "Put It In Drive" and is currently being played on BBC Radio in the UK for their Country playlists with his single "Me Before You".

TYLER BARHAM - just released his new single "More Than A Cotton Dress" to radio, but no official video for that just yet. I think this song showcases his voice well though

GWEN SEBASTIAN - she's definitely making waves and being on NBC's The Voice didn't hurt any at all. Gwen has a great sound to her and should be played on Mainstream. This song is by far my favorite, even though "Small Town Soul" is her newest single

DREW SMITH - super talented singer-songwriter. Here's Drew singing his song "The Singer" that was cut by Randy Houser. I wish they would have taped the entire song

CHRIS STAPLETON - signed to Mercury Records. Needless to say, this song should have been a bigger hit than it was and Mercury really needs to be pushing this guy!! He's incredible... down right sick

RANDY MONTANA - signed to Mercury Records and son of famed hit songwriter Billy Montana. I still can't believe this song is already 3 years old. I really think Mercury dropped the ball with Randy Montana, they need to get him back out there!

KAYLEE BELL - here's the last of Australian Country Artists that I'll post. Sure, I could post The McClymonts but most folks already know of them. Kaylee like Jared Porter and Christie Lamb has had success on the Australian Country Charts with her song "Heart First" going up to #3. Here's her song "Little Bit Small Town" however

My biggest concern with this guy is he smokes like a chimney. Always wonder how that weathers you voice as the years go on.

CHRIS STAPLETON - signed to Mercury Records. Needless to say, this song should have been a bigger hit than it was and Mercury really needs to be pushing this guy!! He's incredible... down right sick This goes without saying. I sure hope Mercury gives him another release. Single best voice I have heard in the country industry in my life. He is the measurable for anyone at this juncture. Even your popular guys like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, etc, give due credence to Stapleton. He's the best, not a question.
