I strongly recommend Elizabeth Cook here. I got an EP from her for free from NoiseTrade. Amazing voice and country to boot Also, but more on the faith side of country, Wesley Randolph Eader has some great tunes I'm generally hit or miss with Elizabeth but I love this.

Can't believe I'm saying this...but fellow pulsers I need your help in finding a song for me. I was in tractor supply tonight and They always play good music. A song came on and I didn't know who it was. It sounded very Texas swingy definitely a red dirt artist. It had a key line that went " where did all them pretty boys come from anyway". It was I believe poking fun at today's singers. It name dropped joe diffie, Alan Jackson , Doug stone. Very traditional sounding and funny. The first line of the chorus went something like " we ain't all good looking , but we sing with heart and soul"
I'm afraid it's some indie artist who no ones heard of. But I'm hoping someone on here knows who. Sorry if it's an obvious song, I've googled the hell out of it and got zilch.
Thanks yall

Sorry for the double post but I found it!! Lol. On some web forum someone responded with the song title. His name is tommy alverson. Definitely a Texas guy. Looks like Sam Elliott. Gonna check out his stuff. Being a guy who knows a lot about country music and spent hours in my room discovering vinyl albums , it's always cool to discover someone new

Just discovered Doug McCormick. As solid as he is the the content of this song, "Songs about a truck" describes today's Nashville to a fricking T. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_z0Yhwwdrx4

Well, I suppose many know him (along with Kacey Musgraves, Alan Jackson, Ashley Monroe and tons of more traditional country acts, are all charting in the Americana chart) He is Sam Outlaw and while he admits not having a country upbringing, he loves the genre, and has released some stuff. He released a few months ago (1 month I think) his 'debut' album Angeleno and I am a bit confused as to which song was the first single. It's either Ghost Town or Who Do You Think You Are?, and both songs are quite amazing.
Ghost Town
Who Do Think You Are?
I haven't seen anyone mention him here on Pulse, so that's why I went ahead and posted this stuff. Give him a listen, he is amazing and very country!

Excellent, upcoming and promising artist! :) The first song lifted from "Angeleno" (Released 06/09/15) is the current single "Who Do You Think You Are". "Ghost Town" was already on his 2014 EP. Sam Outlaw has already been mentioned here a couple of times; including featured video of the day. The search feature is quite a helpful tool (once you master how to use it... lol :) )

Steve Maynard / One More Day To Live I just stumbled over a song by him on ITunes last week and instantly bought the entire album. Very throw back sound and a great voice. Sounds like he was probably raised up on Gene Watson.

“Breakup Survival Guide” co-written with Kirsti Manna (Blake Shelton’s number one hit song “Austin”), is country pop singer Maddie Logan’s latest single to hit the radio airwaves. It has reached the #19 spot on Indie World’s country chart and has been well received by DJ’s all over Nashville. The song is off her self-titled EP available on iTunes here: bit.ly/ML-iTunes along with two other songs titled “My Favorite Mine” and “Barbie’s Biggest Nightmare.” Don’t miss the newly released music video for the track “My Favorite Mine” on YouTube here: bit.ly/MyFavoriteMine. Check out Maddie’s other cover songs by artists like Pistol Annies and Little Big Town on her YouTube channel here: bit.ly/MaddieLogan-YT. Maddie will be releasing another EP titled If It Isn’t Forever coming soon to iTunes! Keep up with her on Twitter here: bit.ly/MaddieLogan-TW, on Instagram here: bit.ly/MaddieLogan-IG and her official website www.maddielogan.com.

I stumbled over Shefton Kash's EP on iTunes and its really good and worth checking out for those that prefer the 90's traditional throwback sound. Really good stuff even though I contacted Shefton about some free publicity and now believe hes either terribly naive or terribly stupid. He doesn't want the songs on Youtube as he apparently thinks hes already Garth Brooks. . In any case , "Hanks Whiskey" is excellent! itunes.apple.com/us/album/shefton-kash-ep/id1105233305And even though you cant buy this (yet) , I've been wearing out Waylon Paynes "Sins Of The Father". Love , Love , LOVE this tune. Waylon is the god son of Waylon Jennings (duh) and his mama was 70's hit maker Sammi Smith and his dad was Willies long time guitar player Jodie Payne. Waylon has also acted some. His biggest role being his role as Jerry Lee Lewis in "Walk The Line"

I have not heard Cook's new one. I like her Warner Bros album, but after that her indie albums are more rock and not that good. So, I have never really followed her career. So, love to hear people's opinions on her new one, before I give her another go.

Todd O'Neill. He's a buddy of mine from Louisiana that won the Nash Next competition Tuesday night. The prize was (among other things) a contract with BMLG and guaranteed play of his single to Cumulus stations. So, hopefully you'll be hearing him on the radio soon haha but until then: www.youtube.com/watch?v=INYPgSKHp54

Ward Thomas are having a fair amount of success in the UK recently. Their second CD was the first country CD by a UK act to top the album charts.

Greetings from the UK. We'd love to here about other great European Country acts - we've certainly come across a few - who are your favourites. There are some great acts that we've played with here in the UK - where C2C is currently in town. Take a listen to Stopped my Medication from the new Trailer Trash Orchestra album - Grave Tales - right here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=VszqGMK06B0 - available from Rough Trade, Trashville and all major download sites. Love to hear from country rock 'n' rollers and cowpunks in other corners of the continent (and elsewhere!)

La Guardia - "Blues de la Nacional II"
The Spanish version of "Highway 40 Blues," originally a hit for Ricky Skaggs.

I guess he's not a true 'discovery', as he's had a couple of charted singles before, as well as a new single going for adds today, but I have just recently discovered Walker Hayes's two '8 Tracks', and I can't stop listening to them. To me, he's like a hybrid of Sam Hunt, Jason Mraz and even Macklemore (which I'm sure will put off a lot of people), but I really, really like his sound. Here are a few of the highlights, imo:
I really hope he makes it this time. He is a super talented songwriter.

Tyler Childers' official debut album Purgatory (produced by Sturgill Simpson) comes out August 4 via Hickman Holler/Thirty Tigers. Tyler Childers is an Kentucky native who has independently released an album in 2011 and a few live EPs since then. Here are the first two pre-release tracks (Even though Whitehouse Road is years old, the recording is new for Purgatory):

I haven't gotten a chance to listen to this on good speakers yet other than "Countryholic" , but I can already tell this is gonna fall squarely in my wheelhouse. Which is kind of surprising as I've always been very hit or miss with Jeffery Steele.

This song just randomly enters US itunes top 100.
And these two songs by Megan McKenna from England is currently #1 and #4 on UK itunes (although UK itunes is almost dead now...)
