This should be interesting. Kind of a different title for a song. My guess is a "Payphone" kind of song.

Definitely looking forward to this. OMN, Payphone (no rap version), Lucky Strike and TMWNL (surprised this didn't get a push, but Adam loved this song - he went on and on about it during the pre-release interviews). Smartly, the will use TV to push the second single/album release since S7 starts Sept. 22 only two months after Maps.

*sigh* It says the album was produced by Benny Blanco and Max Martin. That probably means more Overexposed pop stuff than Songs About Jane gold. I still can't wait to hear it though. Because the rotating judges of "The Voice" are the one's who save promo slots for their music. Usher and Shakira promoted their material throughout last season, there simply wouldn't have been room for Maroon 5 to do it too. But with all that said, I'm sure they will release the album in August/September, around the time The Voice returns and they'll probably perform the 2nd single during the live shows. If you remember correctly, Maroon 5 launched "Payphone" during The Voice, but they released the album during the summer. It's the best strategy because they can do a lot of promo without being tied down to one show. Maroon 5 is big enough now that they don't need The Voice cushion to launch something, but i'm sure they'll take advantage of it when the time is right.

I feel like if "She Will Be Loved," "Never Gonna Leave This Bed," "Must Get Out," and "Daylight" were on the same album no one would even flinch. I wish "Never Gonna Leave This Bed" was a post-Jagger single, it would have slayed! 'Never Gonna Leave This Bed' is one of their best songs period.

Dunno if they'll ever get the success of a Payphone debut again but we'll see what type of song this is. If it's an older M5 type song I don't see it getting much of a debut, then again it won't be premiered on the voice either.
As for their older tracks, I think people are a lot more focused on where they are now, mainly due to the huge sales MLJ, OMN and Payphone received.

I enjoyed their last album enough I guess, a couple good tracks and a bunch of sort of forgettable ones. "Harder to Breathe" is still my favorite Maroon 5 song, and it's firmly rooted in their older pop-rock style instead of the current full pop they've put out recently. I wish they'd go back to that sound but I know it's only wishful thinking. I'm sure this will make a solid impact regardless.

Ryan is like the king of overstating quality, so we'll see how accurate that is. ;)

I'll wait and see, although considering how I didn't like any of the singles off of Overexposed, my hopes aren't too high.

I don't mind this at all, Overexposed had many many gems I'm so looking forward to listen to this especially if Max Martin produced it

I don't get the logic behind the thought that they're "obviously" going to lead with a ballad...? ??? Like where is that coming from, just because they ended Overexposed with "Daylight" and "Love Somebody"? I'd think that'd be a career suicidal thing to do.
All things considered I'm looking forward to this if for no other reason than they haven't released a lead single yet that I haven't been into.

Oh, duh, should've checked ASCAP. Writers are Benny Blanco, Adam Levine, Ammar Malik, Ryan Tedder, and Noel Zancanella. As long as it's not as simultaneously bland and trend-chasing as the latest material from Gavin DeGraw, I'm sure I'll like it.

I read somewhere, Popjustice I think, that Ryan was REALLY excited for a couple of singles he had coming out this next months. I know he's the king of overpimping his own work, but the man know how to make a solid pop song. I have hopes for this one.

They should get someone like Danger Mouse to produce one of their songs. That'll be interesting.

^ based on that preview it sounds like it will be upbeat which is good because Daylight was quite slow and Love Somebody was pretty bland.

Yay it seems they are going with a "Makes Me Wonder"esque song. Fine.

First it's a payphone instead of a cell phone, and now it's maps instead of GPS? GET WITH THE 21ST CENTURY MAROON 5. However, I'm excited to hear this. I can't listen to the snippet because I'm at work, but I like that it has Ryan Tedder's name attached to it. Idc what anyone says, he writes great pop songs.

I guess this isn't a cover of "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Ryan Tedder being attached to this makes me a lot more interested. Tedder rarely fails.

Love Somebody was produced by Nathaniel Motte of 3OH!3 (Don't Trust Me), so don't assume that producers always make the same sounding song...

There's no way this song doesn't have a huge debut, regardless of what it's like.
