Not here for this one. It is catchy though. Maybe it'll grow on me.

my only real reaction to this is that she's pretty horrible at lip-syncing for music videos. Song is kinda forgettable and I don't see it catching on.

It's really catchy and it's actually a cool style, so I really like it ngl. I heard it on the radio for the first time at 2am this morning, lol.

#45 today with 571 spins (+28 from yesterday) and a +258 bullet (-20 from yesterday). Still #33 on iTunes.
As Kurt noted in another thread, it will need to build steam from terrestrial stations this week, as Sirius' 20 on 20, which is playing this a ton, will be shutting down.

I actually found out about her because of the co-write that she sold to Sabrina Carpenter(new Disney girl). Based on that song I was expecting a folky pop song.
She is very talented. I love this, but I am slightly worried about this being her first single. No matter where this peaks, etc I hope she has a song that may have more longevity.
It's #20 at the moment on itunes....

She also wrote at least one song for Rascal Flatts. She's from Massachusetts but I believe a "Nashville songwriter" who is now pushing herself in pop, so she's essentially an American Nikki Williams. Except her own song doesn't suck.

I think this one is cute and catchy. It's now 15 on itunes so it's selling well. It's got that summery vibe that Magic! had with Rude. It's also hitting on that female empowerment trend that's out now with the Colbie Callat and the John Legend video ( which I think both have cancer patients taking off clothes/wigs --did the videographers all get together ?)

The funniest itunes review I saw for this is that she can't sing. I laughed so hard.

Most of that must be from streaming. So good start. I suspect next week will be higher based on sales and radio play this week.

I've completely warmed up to the song, and I'm also impressed by how humble and appreciative Meghan Trainor seems of the support (just look at how she's geeking out on Twitter compared to some of the other new artists in the Top 25-40). I know that many PR people TELL young artists to "act like they've been there before" and downplay positive marks they're getting from fans and critics, but I always respect those who realize fame is a fleeting privilege. Graciousness goes a long way in my opinion.

Any particular reason why this is top-20 on Itunes? I've yet to hear it on the radio.

Wow. 18 adds. This is one of the worst songs I've heard in a while. Not to mention the whole play on words with 'treble and bass' like 'Big Fat Bass' already did.

This has quite a following on Vine, perhaps because the guy dancing in the video is Vine famous

Any particular reason why this is top-20 on Itunes? I've yet to hear it on the radio. It was part of that "empowerment video" threesome with the Colbie Caillat and John Legend videos, so it got a ton of exposure and press during that phase. Unlike those songs, however, it's also really good, summery and catchy, so it's been able to sustain the benefit of that exposure. It also has the most unique/compelling/memorable lyrics of the bunch, which helps. It also has been in the top ten most added for four consecutive weeks and has to be on about 65-70 pop stations at this point. It's also #40 on the airplay chart, so it definitely is getting spun. Not enough to necessary explain why it's selling SO well, but it 100% has been on the radio. As I wrote earlier, Meghan is also doing a phenomenal job of engaging on social media. And as mentioned above, Sione from Vine is in it, which helps it get more social exposure. All that said, I'm still stunned it's selling as well as it is, but I'm not complaining. I'm all in on this song.

Awful, yet sooo catchy. It even has some tolerable parts, but when she starts that "because you know I'm all about that bass..." I want to slap her so bad.

Top 10 iTunes already?! This will be massive. Already #6, and it looks like it should be able to go #5 soon based on trending on Digital Sales Data. And this is purely based on buzz + the video. The airplay boost hasn't even kicked in yet. We could be looking at a Billboard Hot 100 top ten.

^It already is #5. I really want to like this because that instrumental is hot with all of the 50s influence, but these lyrics and her voice...

And, like clockwork, EPIC sent out an email ad touting the song's entry into the Top 5, sales rate of 65K/week (it should actually be much higher this week, as I believe it did 64K last week when ranked in the teens) and presence at 100 Pop stations.
