I think next week will debut on the hot 100. It's going to be released to hot AC, and probably pop will be next

It's rare that such songs do so well on iTunes without significant airplay. Won't get my hopes up, but I will be disappointed if this doesn't go at least top ten on Hot 100.

Take me to church was floating around top 200 for a good while with only the AAA spins wich is a great signal of big potential. I don't know if it will be so massive, the lyrics of the song and the video are too controversial (and not controversial in the way to get publicity) but it should be at least top 40. Right now pop is a lot more open to new sounds (if people search in the opinions at the beginning of the threads of Radioactive or Stay with me will find a lot of people thinking the songs didn't have a chance, even with the good previous sales) so i think there's a chance this will be at least top 20 (but you never know, Rather be wich is a lot more radio friendly needed a deal to rise, and Waves is facing a tough time trying to climb, and of course Human was rejected by radio even after being top 10 on itunes).
Anyway, the chart will be a lot better with a song like this on it

Finally heard this on my Alternative station and it sounded huge. Like Arctic Monkeys with Sam Smith. So good, I hope it gets a good run at pop.

I'm not a fan of this, and I would much rather see Milky Chance and Vance Joy crossover instead. I can't see CHR playing all 3 of them at once.

It would be good if by then could make some impact on Hot AC.
This is one of those songs wich is almost impossible predict what's going to happen. It's not an easy sell, but it's really good, and the sales are increasing, so i hope that it makes at least some impact and don't be ignored

Well, they didn't have a problem playing "Everybody Talks," "Too Close," and "Some Nights" at the same time, did they? Anyway, I think that this'll peak later on than the others, given that it's the lowest on iTunes and the youngest on the Alt chart right now. I see the crossover scene looking like this Fall: Stolen Dance/Riptide Winter: Take Me To Church/Dangerous

I don't like this one. I hope Dangerous, Riptide, Stolen Dance and Fever can do well but i'm not a fan of this.

I don't like this one. I hope Dangerous, Riptide, Stolen Dance and Fever can do well but i'm not a fan of this. This is way riskier than any of those songs. Anyway, i will be very very surprised if Fever touch the top 50. Black Keys is probably the only group with more than one number one on alternative that never had a top 50 hit in recent years, and frankly i can't see Fever changing that. From the rest of songs, Riptide is the best by far. I don't like Stolen dance (wich frankly is all but alternative) and Dangerous is not that special either (maybe if i don't dislike the video that much my perception could be a little better)

This wasn't immediate with me, it took me a good 10 listens before I could finally get into it. I'm not sure if it will work on pop without a remix or something. I could see this being the biggest rock/alternative/AAA song of the year though

I would like if it had a healthier bullet, but maybe with time.
Anyway i fear a Ho hey, it's time, little talks situation with Stolen dance, Riptie and this, when the song i liked less being the bigger hit (anyway, a top 20 like Little talks for this it would be fantastic)

Curious that after discuss the impact Sam Smith success could have on Hozier making an impact in USA at the beginning of this thread, they are going to release songs to pop the same day.
Both song couldn't be more different, so i doubt any song had a negative impact in the other
edit: well, watching back the beginning of thread i think the discussion was on Stay with me thread and not on this one

Heard this on the radio for the first time (gosh!) the other day. Fantastic song and candidate for (personal) record of the year. :)

Musical guest on SNL on 10/11/14. Guessing that, besides Church, he'll perform either From Eden or Sedated.

Most likely From Eden as the second song, it's probably set to be at least the Alternative follow-up single. With Hozier's performance and Bill Hader hosting, I can remember a time I've been more excited to watch an episode of SNL. Haven't followed it for a couple of years now but this will easily make me check it out.
