I hope this smashes and helps other songs with a similar sound cross over ("Changes", "Sonnentanz", "Stolen Dance", etc.).

Good adds week, hopefully this will start to get some traction (and it'll be faster than Rather Be, that song take ages to make some impact)

Those adds... I'm so ready for this to smash. I hope this smashes and helps other songs with a similar sound cross over ("Changes", "Sonnentanz", "Stolen Dance", etc.). "Stolen Dance" is #28 on Alternative with a good bullet, so I have high hopes for that.

I really like this song, I think it'll do well in the U.S.

This is like a perfect mix between "Stolen Dance" and "Wake Me Up." Absolutely digging it.

This is like a perfect mix between "Stolen Dance" and "Wake Me Up." Absolutely digging it. I don't get the "Wake Me Up" comparison personally- this has no Country elements and no cheesy EDM breakdown. I kind of see it as some combo of "Stolen Dance" (the rifts), "Latch" (mid tempo house) and "Am I Wrong" (eclectic popiness with a tinge of Euro-African flare). Having said that, it's quite in line with what's in now.

^ I think he means the vocalist sounds like Aloe Blacc (but better IMO)

It seems we have been getting a European invasion recently: We've got Sweden (Swedish House Mafia, Icona Pop, Avicii, Tove Lo), Norway (Ylvis, Nico & Vinz), Germany (Zedd), Russia (Zedd again), France (David Guetta, Daft Punk, Cedric Gervais), and the Netherlands (Martin Garrix, Tiesto). This will continue the Dutch part of the invasion, and Robin Schulz will add to the German invasion.
Plus, you've got Faul & Wad Ad and Milky Chance on deck for Germany and Klingande for France. This is shaping up to be one heck of an invasion.

The poster above was just saying to include the UK and I just found other artists from there who have found success here. I wouldn't have guessed "Latch" or "La La La" would have crossed over, but I'm glad they did. Nothing unusual, but other genres from the UK are crossing over.

What it is pretty unusual is number ones from UK acts. There were decades that was pretty normal but not anymore (anyway there are a lot more UK singers getting success in the USA right now than 15 or 20 years ago for sure)
Robbie Williams must be mad at how easy it was for Sam Smith to crack into the USA market

It was during the height of the ringtone hip hop and active rock phase about ten years ago when there was a barricade in place. Now here's food for thought: the chart "xxenophobia" almost exclusively coincided with the W. Bush presidency.

Regardless, I'm really glad that period is over and crossovers are coming back in force.

Billboard hot 100 was totally dominated by hip hop and rap, even incredibly popular songs like Beautiful didn't get number one on billboard

I've been listening to this for quite a while on Spotify. Great song. Looks like it's about to hit the US ( currently 128 on itunes) I hope this, Rather Be and STolen Dance by Milky Chance make it here.

Yes, i think the impact will be faster than Rather be (of course Rather be is showing signs that it could be a big hit). There are a lot of songs that are going to be recurrent/purged in the following weeks so hopefully this will be near top 50 by then
Itunes generally is generally a good measure to the future impact of a foreign hit. A song that is able to hit top 100 without that much airplay generally ends having a better chart run than one that needs a lot of airplay to make an impact in sales. That was pretty clear in the comparision between Pompeii and Love me again. I think when they were released most people thought John Newman had a way better chance, but the truth is Pompeii sold more from the beggining and impact on the billboard hot 100 way sooner

While I want to resent the fact that the remix was needed to break this one, since the original is so epic in its own right, I can't get too mad because the remix IS freaking awesome.

This is top 100 on itunes (officially doing better on sales than other songs with way bigger airplay), so time to start rising on the airplay charts

Waiting for this to blow up. It's such a summer smash: I guess this is what an AUX cable is for.
