12 9 KELSEA BALLERINI Love Me Like You Mean It 4766 4432 334 36.984
This should stay until Sunday, giving Ballerini (and Black River) their first top 10 on Mediabase. Will reach the top 10 on Billboard soon too.

I can see Black River later on needing more labels to grow artists. Ironically, Craig Morgan will have been usurped by both "young stars" mentioned.

Congratulations to Kelsea and Black River Entertainment as they earn their very first top 10 single this week, as "Love Me Like You Mean It" lands at #9 on MB.

Amen to that; the past 6-12 months has yielded a steady stream of wonderful debut singles, and this is arguably the best one so far IMHO.
A 'Best New Artist' nomination at this fall's CMA event would be wonderful.

I checked the Billboard country chart archives, and the last time that there were two songs by solo women only in the top ten was April 13th, 2013. Those songs were Carrie's "TBC" falling to #10, and Miranda's "MBH" at #7.

Those songs were Carrie's "TBC" falling to #10, and Miranda's "MBH" at #7. This is ridiculously sad. However, I am thrilled for Kelsea and Black River (and for the higher probability of Kellie Pickler getting another hit) for the success of this single. This should by the very least go top 5, hopefully #1. I also would not be surprised at all if Kelsea had many more hits down the road because her debut album is fantastic. "Dibs" being the next single is a great choice and could easily repeat the success of this song. I can't wait to see where her career goes in the next few years!

Her album is fantastic! Several potential hits on this album after "Dibs" is released (and likely becomes another big hit for Kelsea). "Xo", "Peter Pan", "Yeah Boy", "First Time", "Square Pegs", and "Secondhand Smoke" are all incredible songs on top of the amazing first two singles. I'm looking forward to seeing where this era takes Kelsea!

I see why they're going with "Dibs," it's playful and girls will relate to it but I think "XO" is a better, bigger hit possibility (even crossover).

The First Time is a fantastic album. I can't wait to go pick up my copy tomorrow! I'm hoping this girl can become a superstar. If this album is any indication, she definitely has a lot of talent. I really want to see her debut single hit #1 for a lot of reasons, one of them being she'll be the first new female solo artist to do that since Carrie Underwood with "Jesus, Take the Wheel" almost 10 years ago.

Is "Dibs" actually confirmed to be the next single? The Highway on Sirius/XM was told its the follow up and they've already had it in their playlist.

Will reach the top 10 on Billboard soon too. She came up just short on tonight's Billboard chart; "Love Me Like You Mean It" checks in at #11. Kelsea had a great gain of nearly 3 million, but Blake's "Sangria" gained 4.3 million and leaped ahead, thus claiming the #10 spot. I think Kelsea will probably get in next week, though. Tim McGraw has really slowed down...maybe he'll rally and stay ahead, but Kelsea has already jumped him on Mediabase, and it's possible that Tim is about out of steam. Kelsea is less than 600k behind him on Billboard, and Tim's weekly gain was less than 300k. There's also a chance that "Raise 'Em Up" will lose enough this week to drop below Kelsea, so even if Tim does rally to stay ahead, Kelsea could get into the top 10 if REU falls below.

I know, I saw the Billboard Country Update I wasn't really talking TO you, lol. I quoted your post simply to agree that Kelsea would indeed be top 10 soon, and to explain to others who might come into this thread why Kelsea just missed entering the top 10 on tonight's chart. :)

With the album out do you think they'll abandon this song because if Black River holds off long enough I can see this hitting the Top spot with a little luck. Let's see here Billy will get a week same thing with A Thousand Horses FGL I'd imagine #2 weeks at the top with Kenny & Grace getting a MB only 1 then Carrie for a week then probably Blake for I'd imagine 2 weeks I don't see Easton or Tim lasting too much longer regardless I'm hoping Kelsea sticks she has star written all over her.

It depends though I feel like her previewing it on CMT could've hurt it but I could be wrong I can't buy it unfortunately but I'm so pumped to see what's next I think Dibs should be the next song.
Where do you guys seeing this peak I think she'll get a Top 5.

If this was 10 ago, I think a peak of #7-#9 is what we would get but in the "revolving door" era, most songs that enter the top 10 seem to at least have a shot at the top.

Hey why so down if she gets number #1 she'll be the first since Carrie in 2012 or '15 if Little Toy Guns does or doesn't I'm excited though to see her chart run from this point on it's gonna be fun.

Lol, my sarcasm was more of an indictment on the fact that we have so many #1 songs these days. I'm absolutely rooting for Kelsea's song since she is a solo female and it's been nearly three years since a solo female artist hit #1 on Billboard airplay; and even the fact that there's only been a small handful of singles to reach #1 on MB over that time is ridiculous enough. Black River has actually been involved in the Buffalo scene (where I'm from) over the past two or three years since the owners of the label own the Sabres and Bills, so I know the kind of people who run the label and they're very intelligent and down to earth. Kelsea has been here three separate times over the past 7-8 months with two station run events and a special event that teams up Black River artists with Sabres players and fans. I'm extremely happy for Kelsea and her label.

Do you guys think Black Rivers gonna do a 40s week push to the top because it could get to the top provided Luke Bryan's Kick The Dust Up doesn't catch her because I have a bad feeling that it's gonna just go way too fast and catch Kelsea right before she gets to the top.

I'm thinking this is going to the top, it's never had any trouble during it's run and from behind there's not many threats, the biggest one is if Luke Bryan's new single catches up and blocks it. She's lined up pretty nicely with a bunch of slightly weaker singles climbing along side her (Tim, Canaan, Easton, Brad, Frankie, Jason, Brantley, & Michael.) There's only Blake who will probably be falling by the time she makes the top, and Luke. Possibly Zac Brown Band or Thomas Rhett could conceivably catch up but I doubt it.

Kelsea is CMT's Listen Up artist of the month. You can listen to live performances of XO, Peter Pan, Dibs and Love Me Like You Mean It on CMT. (She kills it on XO, btw.)
