The list wasn't nearly as bad last year though. And at least they had the decency to put a great song at #1 with "Merry Go 'Round." This year's #1 is totally WTF-worthy, lol.

I think they fell in love with this song because sonically it sounds completely different than any other country song. This also is shaping up to be another top 5 hit for Rhett, as he is in the second batch of songs waiting on the top 10, including "Mean to Me", "Homegrown Honey", and maybe even "Take It On Back".

Yeah, this being #1 was a real head scratcher tbh. The Billboard lists are always all over the place.

Ummm... no.
This guy was on my radar with "It Goes Like This" and "Get Me Some of That", both of which I actually enjoyed (but of course my chart was going through a country drought at the time, so they didn't chart)
But this song I just don't like. Disappointing.

Last month in the midst of trying to get votes for the ACCA'S Thomas said if 3,000 fans rt'ed a tweet he'd cover a song. He kept good to his promise and premiered it on Rolling Stone's site. When I Was You Man - Bruno Mars Cover

I just watched the video to this for the first time. What the heck is up with the random dubstep or w/e that is part at 1:18?
**Link below should start at the part I'm talking about**

I can't imagine people actually watching that video and actually finding Thomas Rhett sexy, because I feel like that's what he was going for. But seriously, he looks like an uncomfortable ferret wriggling all over the place and his voice is about as unsexy as they come.

Well, that was awkward. What a weird video-I thought perhaps at first that it was a parody of a lounge lizard type song and he was going for humor.....but unfortunately I think it is seriously supposed to be sexy?! Also never noticed until watching this video that he is off pitch when he hits a couple of low notes.
I really liked Beer With Jesus and mildly enjoyed It Goes Like This (although that definitely hit a saturation point very quickly for me) but what he has put out since then has been annoying for me at best.

Yeah that video is just terrible. It's incredibly awkward. And why do we need 2 or 3 of him on-screen at one time? One "groovy" and "smooth" Thomas Rhett is enough for me.

Wow... surprised to see so many negative comments about the video. I think the guy is hot as hell. And the song is one of the best on his album. To each their own, I suppose :)

Forgive me if this is an airhead question, or if I just missed something.
At 10 the countdown with Lon Helton and Darius came on and they started things off with saying the number one song as decided by radio is Make Me Wanna and then they played it. Should I be confused?

That's the week hottest song. It's basically the biggest point gainer inside the top 5. Lon's been doing that forever.

Definitely a strong album cycle for Rhett. "It Goes Like This" was a huge radio hit, and this song and "Get Me Some Of That" are going to be pretty memorable #1's do to their unique instrumentation. I can definitely see this song being a big line dancing number, which should keep its popularity going for a while. I imagine we will get a brand new lead single from him sometime in April.

I'm glad to see he is being successful, as he definitely has a unique sound.
When I first listened to the album, I actually thought there were a lot better songs on it than the three he ended up picking as singles. I'm not sure if that is good or bad.

To me that points more to what radio programmers want and/or that T.Rhett will be around longer than many thought he would be. My guess is that he'll come back with an even stronger sophomore album and I actually would suggest that he release "When I Was Your Man" to radio next. If for no other reason than it showcases his ability to actually sing.

I too would guess his next album is going to be a smash (although, I could see him falling into the same issue as FGL's sophomore album if he isn't careful). My only concern is when he said he is going to have more songs that people can dance to, or something along those lines. I hope he doesn't stray too far from his strengths in favor of creating only poppy, disco beat-driven tunes.

I remember seeing him perform way before "It Goes Like This" was a huge hit, but I knew he was going to be big just based off his performance. He really knows how to work a crowd, and he is still very young compared to his peers. As long as his next album and single choices aren't ALL party tunes, I see him becoming a big star.

It's Gold in less than 6 months (no small feat in today's world) and likely will be Platinum. They've hit #1 or #2 with every single. And "Sippin' On Fire" is sure to be a smash hit again. As for Thomas Rhett, I think he needs a song like "When I Was Your Man" more than anything else. Though "Make Me Wanna" isn't a party tune either (directed to dm2081).

60 million audience impressions at MediaBase: 2 1 THOMAS RHETT Make Me Wanna 7741 7510 231 60.47 There was a panel change today with a few stations added, so that's why everybody gained so much. This song gained 5 million in audience today, which is an absurdly high weekly gain, let alone a daily one. Rhett wouldn't have come anywhere near 60 million if it weren't for the panel change.

No official confirmation yet that's it's the first single but Thomas Rhett just revealed a new song teaser from his upcoming second album for a song called "Crash And Burn". You can check it out on Taste of Country's website.

You can check it out on Taste of Country's website. Gary Allan wanted to cut the song apparently but Rhett already had it on hold and didn't want to let go of it. It was an article in Billboard's mid-week update ( here). Page 2.

You can check it out on Taste of Country's website. Judging from that 15 sec clip, this new song "Crash And Burn" does not sound Country at all. It sounds overproduced, and the audio mix sounds horrible as well, but at least there's a banjo in there. The "I let another lover crash and burn" lyric is a good one, but man, all I can think of is how good Gary Allan would have sounded singing this song. I'll reserve final judgment until I hear the full song, but yeah, the clip just sounded like it was horribly mixed. Thomas' vocals didn't jive very well with the production at all. tasteofcountry.com/thomas-rhett-crash-and-burn-teaser/

Hmmmm, I hear the potential in the 15 second clip, but I hope that's not the final edit of the song because it does sound like it could use some fine tuning. Is it me, or did the clip sound reminiscent of Jay Sean's "Down" from a couple of years ago? Mainly just in the way Rhett sings "Dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwn".

You can check it out on Taste of Country's website. He mentioned something on twitter after the Rolling Stone interview last week about doing teasers every Monday of new songs from the album. So I wouldn't take it as a single just yet.
