With that Kiesza song starting to really catch on, I think Walking On Air makes too much sense and needs to be the single. I know they aren't really the same but both do refer back to the club/pop hits of the 90s and Katy's label/management are fools to pass it up now - unless they're purposely waiting, but if that's the case, there are still better songs to fill the space than this one, unless it'll be edited to take out the juvenile embarrassing parts.

Wow, I'm really surprised at the responses in this thread. This stood out to me as the biggest hit on the album. I don't see how radio won't eat this up.

She should have released a well written song, its song #5 show some other side of you. "By The Grace Of God" is well written and raw. It would have helped with the ac crowd.
It's Celine teas, STYLE WISE. If she wasnt going to use it she should've given it to Celine to actually sing it.

I'm not the one to shade her but that says alot.
Anyways said my 2 cents on this single, me don't like it. I have no other reason to be here nor will i return. I'm NOT like those girls who keep coming back and back to share their disdain, I hit it and go once i said my OPINION.
bye.

Now Katy isn't known for starting trends but she could've been one of the first on this new one and I really think that song could've been a possible top 5 hit for her. This Is How We Do should've stayed in 2011.

This may be a hit. Honestly, I feel like there's been a downgrade in the quality of her songs from the Teenage Dream era to Prism.

Man this song so corny! Katy really needs to start switching up her style, it seems the general public is starting to get tired of the same generic party songs from her. Hopefully with her next album she'll start having songs with more substance.

OMFG. This should've been Walking on Air. With Birthday underperforming, hopefully this doesn't get Katy-size exposure and doesn't even go top 20. I already hate Katy saying it, I can't handle people saying "IT'S. NO. BIG. DEAL!" over the next year.

There is a downgrade save for Dark Horse and Roar... Dark Horse was a huge let down for me. I can't stand that song. Mess. Anyway. I also think this is the best choice at this point I don't see WOA or LL doing any better. After all is said and done I see this doing similar to Birthday. Her best bet after this would be a re-release.

There is a downgrade save for Dark Horse and Roar... Dark Horse was a huge let down for me. I can't stand that song. Yeah but it's still getting HUGE streaming and airplay and probably will be until next year. So.... I'd say that a massive #1 single with great longevity is probably not what most would consider a let down. A let down is something like what happened to Unconditionally and Birthday for the purposes of the general public.

This seemed like an obvious choice when I first heard the album, and always assumed it would do well, but I didn't expect "Birthday" to "stall" like it did--even though that peaked inside the top ten on Pop. I expect this to perform similarly--fans will be ready for it to smash, everyone else will be ready for it to flop, and it will probably just perform decently.
But yeah, it's a total nothing song. It doesn't aggravate me as much as its oft-compared Teenage Dream counterpart, "Last Friday Night," though.

Ugh give me "Walking on Air." This is just lame, especially the cringeworthy spoken bridge.

I don't get all the hate on "Birthday". That was one of my favorites. It was way better than "Roar" and "Unconditionally" imo. This on the other hand, is meh.

I read someone somewhere on Pulse who suggested that they cut the cheesy talking parts and put in a verse from Iggy, kind of like Kanye on ET. That would have guaranteed a smash!
I just feel like it needs something to freshen it up and renew the interest... I was rooting for WOA (and selfishly Double Rainbow)

I don't hate it, but it's definitely my least favorite of the PRISM singles so far.
interesting choice on their part to follow up under-performer "Birthday" with another goofy/playful upbeat pop song. I imagine it'll do about as well, or worse.

Radio will play this no matter what even if sales, streaming, and callout suck. So they don't have to worry there. I just wonder why they didn't go for something slightly more adventurous since they do have radio on lock no matter what. She could release one of the better songs on the cd or at least one that shows a slightly different side than what she has shown already this era and last?

She could release one of the better songs on the cd or at least one that shows a slightly different side than what she has shown already this era and last? Save for This Moment, I found the bottom half of the CD to be absolute shlock. The lyrics on that Sia song are embarrassingly terrible - and everything else is too boring and/or faux-emotional to make any wave at radio. And This Moment, while good, is really corny - it would have worked better if pushed during the Winter Olympics or World Cup than it could on its own. I personally don't like Walking on Air - as I've said, it's cheesy 1990s aerobics music with horrible production, not 2014 pop radio gold - but I suppose that was an option since it has fans and since dancier pop is selling now. Legendary Lover has some merit, but it's risky. And while risks can get you Dark Horse, they can also get you Unconditionally. I think this is more like the latter. International Smile does the usual Katy style better than This is How We Do, but the lyrics are boring and it's perhaps TOO close to her usual formula. The Daft Punk meets TGIF breakdown is epic though.
