I wonder if they're going to release a 3rd single from the album? This choice seems like a mistake to me. Let it have a small run as a single but a side single, he has a few good songs on the album that could've done good. It's a shame as I think this could derail him a bit.

Given how much Scott Borchetta wants that album to succeed, I see this one really being popular. It'll also be VERY familiar to many of the audience. Plus it'll finally showcase Justin's STRONG voice (more than any of his singles have). I expect it to be a big hit and eventually added to his albums future printings or at the very least added to his next album.

Scott Borchetta has been talking about an album like this for at least two years now (2012 CMA Fest is when I first heard him say something like this was in the pipeline) and he would like to venture out into the rock spectrum with perhaps a strictly rock label in the future.

Hits radio on Tuesday July 1 at 7am ET, with an official adds date of July 7, according to AllAccess. I'm excited to hear this one, mostly because I think the original song is pretty good and better than what Justin can come up with on his own. Basically I'm excited to hear this song and see how it was 'countrified'.
I just hope it's not another Clear Channel deal...

Just listened to the full version ans I think this just screams hit. I agree. I think this might become Justin's biggest or at least most memorable hit song. It is the perfect showcase for his powerful voice. And seeing how this song was already a hit once, I don't see why it won't be popular again. Also, you can now preview every song on iTunes for the upcoming Nashville Outlaws - Motley Crue Tribute Album.

You always worry about a cover and how it will sound. Justin MORE than does this justice (no pun intended). Excellent job and, in my opinion, this should most likely be an absolute home run.

This is absolutley tremendous. Just as good, if not better than the Motley Crue version. His voice suits this song perfectly.
*** (Could do without the painfully long guitar solo about 5/8 through the song though)

I never found Justin interesting as an artist, but this is AMAZING! His voice, the production, the guitar solo. This could be his biggest hit. It is that type of song.

After the terrible quality of all of Justin's single from the past few years, I've stopped giving any of them listens (and since I don't listen to radio, I've never heard most of them). But after the raving reviews I've seen on here added to the curiosity to see how he would treat this song, I gave this a listen. His performance of this is extremely underwhelming. I've never been a fan of Justin's voice and I think the twang really feels strange on this. I know I'm a little biased on this, but Carrie Underwood's version is miles better in my opinion; and the same could be said about the original.
I don't see any appeal to him whatsoever (looks, voice, songs), so I'm quite shocked that he continues to score hits.

Well, he's never really been allowed -- for whatever reason -- to showcase the power in his voice til now. As for the song's comparison to Carrie Underwood, one should try not to compare it to her Idol Gives Back version either. That version is a different level, not unlike people trying to do Whitney Houston songs. But this one was never an official single by Carrie so it's not "her" song, so to speak.

Great song! I've known the song for over 20 years and it's never moved me much one way of another (and I do like some of the 80's metal songs). I like this version from first listen. I do think this is the strongest I've heard his voice sound to date.
What a strong debut! Is this the first time he's debuted in the top 40? Was this without the assistance of any Clear Channel hourly play?
Way to go Justin!

Basically I'm excited to hear this song and see how it was 'countrified'. I just hope it's not another Clear Channel deal... Yes, #39 is Justin Moore's highest start. This one didn't get a straight-up Clear Channel once-an-hour deal but it did get a mini-boost last Tuesday and I'm guessing that CC was the culprit. "Home Sweet Home" showed up on Tuesday's Mediabase update with a 529 bullet and 4.359 million in audience, but it was knocked out of the MB top 50 on Wednesday morning and it hasn't re-emerged since. Now obviously one of the spots was claimed by "Dirt" but also Hunter's "Tattoo" has jumped into the top 50. I guess I'm just surprised a bit, though, as you'd expect a song with a +500 bullet from Tuesday to still be top 50 when Saturday rolls around but somehow this one isn't in there. In the end though I am sure this will be a big hit and perhaps it can climb quicker than most of Justin's recent big hits. But I'm not expecting it to move up much this week from its #39 Billboard debut, given that it's not even top 50 at MB.

I will go as far as saying Home Sweet Home will be a top ten (maybe #1) for Justin Moore and Vince Neil.

I will go as far as saying Home Sweet Home will be a top ten (maybe #1) for Justin Moore and Vince Neil. I think so too. But today's Mediabase update clearly shows that its high debut was a product of some sort of pre-organized airplay, as we see "Home Sweet Home" at #50 on MB but with a 7-day spin gain of only 7 spins (following its debut week when had over 500 spins at MB). It's just that Justin's CC debut was much more limited and not as obvious since it wasn't a bunch of once-an-hour spins. But it definitely got some sort of help when it hit radio back on the 1st.

This isn't bad at all but I could really live without it heading onto the country charts.

I've always like Justin's voice, heard this on radio and he sounded great. Not sure it's something I'd ever consider country, but with what qualifies today and Justin's voice, it's acceptable imo.

Amazing how big a debut it had. Not sure I understand since I have 4 stations i can get on my radio and have yet to hear it on the radio. It's debut was actually quite artificial, as we saw this song lose more than 1.5 million in audience and slip from 39-45 in chart week #2. I suspect if it hadn't gotten a bit of a Clear Channel boost last week, it probably would have had a more normal debut in the 50's followed by a move up into the mid 40's.

I've been trying to figure out what's in this album singles detour for Justin Moore. I guess there is the fact that he makes his label head happy, and the fact that his previous single doesn't seem to have done much to sustain album sales. To pick up on something I brought up in another thread, I'm wondering if Scott Borchetta is thinking that, as much as Justin Moore has struggled to gain name recognition and separation from the pack despite a string of hits, a Motley Crue cover is more likely to do the trick for him than one of his own songs. I think Justin Moore is also far more likely to score a CMA and/or ACM performance slot (and generate attention for any TV performance, really) with Vince Neil/Motley Crue than he is solo, as well. Big Machine already manufactured a ridiculous ACM New Artist nomination and win to get Justin Moore some awards show/network attention, and this may simply be the next step in getting Justin more TV time on country music's biggest televised showcases.
As for Justin's version of "Home Sweet Home," he reaches so hard for some of the higher notes, it actually makes me uncomfortable listening. Justin Moore is a very good singer, but you can really hear how pinched his voice sounds compared to his typical sound on the "run"/"never"/"comin'" in the first verse (also "keeps me" in the second verse) and the "tonight"s in the chorus. Singing being a use of muscles, Justin may be able loosen and open up on those notes as he sings this song live more, but it's not there on the recording. I also think singing the song live may help him to feel more comfortable imposing his phrasing on the song that he did on the recording. Regardless, I agree with the consensus here that this will be a hit for him.
