I was having a discussion with friends last night about politics and one of the things we talked about was how so many singers are liberal. One of them mentioned that country singers are probably the exception and I got to thinking there are many country singers on both sides of the political spectrum as opposed to strictly conservative. It gave me inspiration for this thread. Many will probably think "who cares" or "why does it matter?" It probably doesn't but it's fun to know trivia about different artists. Plus, I don't think it's that much different from the "Country singers who accept gay fans" thread. Remember to follow the rules here: pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/136890/pulse-music-board-rules-guidelines and please don't get into political debates and please respect opinions and differences. So no "he is probably a ________ because he is so close minded." Here is a list of those I know. Add yours! Democrat: Willie Nelson Tim McGraw Faith Hill Toby Keith(I think he is more of a conservative Democrat, same with Tim) Garth Brooks Kris Kristofferson Jennifer Nettles(I think) Dixie Chicks(are they even country anymore?) Republican: Sara Evans Travis Tritt Josh Turner(supports Huckabee and contributed to his campaign) John Rich Justin Moore(called himself a conservative NRA loving Christian) Gretchen Wilson Kenny Chesney George Strait(rumored) Randy Travis

Brad Paisley and Sheryl Crow could be added to the Democrat list.

Toby has described himself as Democrat in an interview. I did assume more on the conservative side. I vaguely think I read something more recently where he referred to himself as having gone independent but I may be mis-rembering.
I suppose independent is the p.c. answer for any of them who don't want to say, or to be categorized

How many are neither? Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Tim Wilson, who was Libertarian.

Interesting thread. I know Jake Owen and Brett Eldredge both follow Mitt Romney on twitter so there's that. In Brett's case, I know he has family members who are conservative, so I would guess Brett is a Republican. I would guess Jake is a republican too.
