With a couple listings under Hot Picks by CHR program directors, it looks like this may be the second single from 5 Seconds Of Summer's upcoming debut.

Meh, not enough Luke. I'd rather they push Don't Stop instead; this feels like their "Little Things".

Save it for later and release the SMASHES "Don't Stop" and "Good Girls" first.

Agreed with you both, but looks like we won't get our wish - this goes for pop adds July 15, according to FMQB.

"Don't Stop" is a smash, but crazy how quickly "Amnesia" climbed the iTunes charts. Hope these guys keep the success going; definitely a guilty pleasure band of mine.

"Don't Stop" is a smash, but crazy how quickly "Amnesia" climbed the iTunes charts. Hope these guys keep the success going; definitely a guilty pleasure band of mine. Alot of people like "Amnesia" cause the sad story line is so relateable. That's why it'll be a big hit and probably outsell their debut single. Nearly everyone has that 1 person they can't forget and wish they would be able to since the relationship didn't work out. I know I sure can relate to it, especially here lately. Anyway, it doesn't matter if you're young, old, male, or female, this song suits anyone. I believe this was a very smart move. It's different than any song on the radio right now but it's catchy and like I said, relateable. Further down the line I'd love to see "Long Way Home" a single. It is another one of those songs that everyone has probably done at least once with that special someone, and it screams hit. "VooDoo Doll" is ear candy and it'd be a hit too. This whole album is just amazing. And I might get shot for this but I love it far more than I did 1D's debut album.

Unsurprisingly, this is actually doing better than their other promo singles. The non-deluxe version of the single peaked in the lower teens or so on iTunes.
EDIT: By the way, 2 adds. :)

I don't think this is their "Little Things." It's more like their "Story of My life." But this song is actually better than that! If radio gets behind this it could easily go top 10. So many people who have no clue who this band is will discover them by hearing this on the radio. I buy songs by artists all the time who I'm not necessarily a fan of just cause their particular song is that good. This could be one of those big selling digital singles and radio hits. I couldn't think of any better song than this to build their American momentum with. They have many more great songs that will come after this has their successful roll out started.

Decent song, but it's funny to me that they made that whole point about how they're a band of boys rather than a "boy band" and are not at all trying to be the next One Direction. And then they release what's effectively a One Direction song.

That's just because the song was given to people who pre-ordered the album. For some stupid reason, iTunes counts that towards sales, which makes any song that's made available through the pre-order system have an inflated ranking in the Top 200. All of Ed Sheeran's songs from X that were made available before the release date hit #1 on iTunes (and there was like 7 of them lol).

Yeah, but it wouldn't have hit #1 without the pre-order thing.

This is Little things with a better chorus. Probably another top 20 for them

I don't get it...why release something like this if their first single barely managed to make the top 20?

This is not Little Things, which was a love song. This is a sad song about longing for an ended relationship not to be over.
And this is the brilliant release! I don't see why some have gloom and doom about it. This has depth and emotion that their debut single didn't. It's more grown up and like I said in a previous post, everyone can relate to it no matter of age or gender. Everyone has been through this! Nothing on the radio sounds like it and it could have been a hit by any band out there lucky enough to record it, and 5SOS is that band!
This is going top 10, maybe even top 5. Their promo machine will be huge here starting in 3 weeks when the album is released. Starting with a Today show concert. So many people are underestimating this band and this song. Just watch, it could end up being one of the biggest hits of the year!

I don't get it...why release something like this if their first single barely managed to make the top 20? My theory is they released SLSP first because it was catchy and different, like people would talk about it. It is definitely not one of their best songs. Don't Stop was released internationally as a single to radio, but for some reason the label doesn't want to go with that one in the US. I think releasing Amnesia is a good idea (even though I agree, it should be more Luke, he's just a better singer than Calum), as this song won't cause the negative reactions that SLSP had. It's melodic, and has decent hook for a song of this type (the chorus is the best part and is sung by Luke). I think Capitol is obviously putting a ton of money into 5SOS, so I expect this to have a better run. The album will be rather huge for a debut, which you can tell from the "singles sales", which really just indicate the number of preorders. I think we'll be seeing a lot of promotion for this album for the rest of the year. I haven't listened to it much but I think my favorite on the album is Long Way Home. I think that could be a smash hit, and a crossover to Hot AC and AC to give it legs, like 1D's Story of My Life. I'm interested to see the international sales of the album. And less than 3 weeks until the US release.

I don't believe data is final yet, but it looks like this will rank as the week's most-added in its second week out.

They did great on the Today Show today and the album is #1 on ITunes since Midnight and will probably be there for awhile. I went to my local Target to buy the special edition and they had sold out already just a few hours after opening. This band is very in demand! They announced a November show at the Forum in LA. It's probably going to be followed by a North American tour next year.
This song and this entire album is incredible. I haven't been as excited about a band's music as I am theirs in a long time!

Amnesia had a ton of Adds this week, it's already in the Top 40 on mediabase top 40 with big increases. Big numbers for debut out this week. According to HDD, they'll also be going for a Hot AC push, I assume after it has some traction at Pop. Great performances on Jimmy Kimmel last night, 4 songs are on the Kimmel YouTube channel.

The Kimmel videos are great! They have turned into kick ass performers live! I can't wait to see them open for 1D 2 nights in a row in a couple months. They may even steal the show! What a great band!

I'm sorry, but every time Calum sings, it sounds like his nose is stuffed up or something... I just don't like his voice... Luke however...
Great song! Grown on me quite a bit since the first listen! :)

This is going to depend on the itunes performance. Radio is more than ready to play their music, but if airplay doesn't translate into sales it will happen the same that it happened with she looks so perfect

Grown on me quite a bit since the first listen! :) Calum's voice has a bit of nasal to but, but I like it. Now if you want to hear singers who have real nasal voices that don't even compare, look up Dwight Yoakum and Randy Travis. Can't get much more than that!
