YOUR TOP 15: With the approaching holiday weekend—and varying traffic patterns at retail—please expect a greater-than-usual margin of error. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: 1. Trey Songz (Atlantic) 90-100k 2. Ed Sheeran (Atlantic) 50-55k 3. Sam Smith (Capitol) 45-50k 4. Frozen (Walt Disney) 35-40k 5. Seether (Bicycle Music/Concord) 30-35k 6. Magic! (Latium/RCA) 27-30k 7. Lana Del Rey (Interscope) 27-30k 8. Miranda Lambert (RCA Nashville) 27-30k 9. Now 50 (NOW) 23-26k 10. Brantley Gilbert (Valory) 20-23k 11. Robin Thicke (Star Trak/Interscope) 20-23k 12. Colt Ford (Average Joe's) 17-20k 13. Hillsong Worship (Hillsong) 17-20k 14. Linkin Park (Warner Bros.) 16-18k 15. Jersey Boys Soundtrack (Rhino) 15-17k 16. Coldplay (Parlophone) 15-17k See below for a discussion of Warner U.K. head Max Lousada's worldwide marketing plan for Ed Sheeran, which powered the ginger-haired singer/songwriter to this week's big #1 and next week's likely #2. Meanwhile, Capitol's Sam Smith looks set for a very solid third week. (7/3p)

Huge fall from grace for Robin Thicke. Clearly the bad publicity the last year has done him no favors.

Considering where Robin was around this time last year, that is BEYOND embarrassing.

"should be good for #1" is not from HITS Duca just moved it up next to the sales prediction:

The Robin Thicke thing is probably due to the lack of a single

Sorry, I should have said a "popular" single.

Thicke's single should chart on the Hot 100,though, thanks to the video release.
He's probably got some promo lined up for the week, so that could boost his number a little. Nonetheless, though, a highly disappointing projection. Maybe if the whole album campaign wasn't built around winning back his wife...

Thicke's groveling has been gross and sleazily opportunistic, glad it's not being rewarded.

It's a much deserving placement. I don't see a problem with that quite honestly. I mean people have done worse than try to make up mistakes they made previously.... It certainly more respectable than getting naked on a wrecking ball... or trying to sexualize religious imagery for sales. I actually think it's appropriate for him to release an album to get back his wife after he let fame and success go to his head and hurt his wife.

All these Tuesday figures HITS releases are usually not based on any actual sales.
Robin could trend higher.

Or "accidentally" showing a boobie at the Super Bowl, right, Demi? It's fine for Thicke to craft an album to win back his wife- but, should have just recorded it and mailed it to her. I have my doubts that this public display is winning points with her.

I expected that from Thicke. I swear he just announced Paula like two weeks ago. Clearly, he isn't worried about the success of this album.
Expected less for Trey. Forgot "Na Na" was a quiet hit for him.

Aside from that BBMA performance, I've heard nothing about him, his single, or this album really. If it weren't for seeing something on Pulse about it recently, I wouldn't have even known there was an album release coming. "Blurred Lines" was huge but the rest of that era did not play out very well. The sales of the album were definitely driven by the BL single, so without a hit like that again, his numbers are not surprising at all. It's not like he's ever been that big for this to be a surprise.

Nobody was checking for a new Robin Thicke album this soon. It seemed rushed and also his pleading/begging must've been a huge turn off to his fan base.

Not surprised by Robin's numbers given everything. Good for Trey.

Damn Robin. Like damn, I stared at his numbers/prediction for a good second until I realized that "20K" figure was real. Damn Robin, damn.

That's solid for Trey, I was worried he was going to struggle for 50-60k.
If BL hadn't happened I don't think Robin's 20k prediction would be all that shocking. Love After War opened with 41k, so this seems like a normal trajectory for someone who who doesn't have a current hit on urban right now...he didn't even perform at the BET Awards and that is his main audience right there. 20k still feels pretty embarrassing though. It seems that much worse b/c pop fans HATE him now and stay dragging him, whereas r&b fans probably would let him flop in peace.

Thicke's album is a very small under the radar release. Most people, even the biggest fans had no idea it was coming out. It barely is an album, it is an apology to his wife he put up for sale.
Sad that Sheeran won't get another week at #1 though. Hopefully it is at least close.. I'd like to see Sheeran get like 70k

Aside from the BET Awards, Thicke's promo this week includes:
* Good Morning America * The View * Jimmy Kimmel Live! * CBS Sunday Morning feature (a look "inside the album")

27-32K is kind of meh for Magic!. Their single is #1 (now #2) on iTunes, and their album is only $6.99. Should've been able to at least clear 50k.

Paula ain't comin' back to a 20k opening, Mr. Thicke. * CBS Sunday Morning feature (a look "inside the album") Aka, a candid interview about his failed marriage because he couldn't keep it in his pants.
