YOUR TOP 15: As expected, Sia will score her first #1 album on next week's chart. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: 1. Sia (Monkeypuzzle/RCA) 48-53k 2. Sam Smith (Capitol) 40-45k 3. Frozen (Walt Disney) 35-40k 4. Trey Songz (Atlantic) 30-35k 5. Ed Sheeran (Atlantic) 30-35k 6. Judas Priest (Epic) 28-32k 7. Dirty Heads (Five Seven) 21-24k 8. Miranda Lambert (RCA Nashville) 19-22k 9. Now 50 (NOW) 18-21k 10. Lana Del Rey (Interscope) 17-20k 11. Brantley Gilbert (Valory) 15-18k 12. Mike Stud (Electric Feel) 14-16k 13. Magic! (Latium/RCA) 13-15k 14. Jacob Whitesides (Jacob Whitesides) 13-15k 15. Coldplay (Parlophone) 13-15k Sam Smith is looking strong in his fourth week. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Jacob Whitesides is a YouTube wunderkind whose EP, which has made noise at iTunes over the last few days, features a number of cover tunes, including a version of Smith’s “Stay With Me.” (7/10p)

Don't care about the sales, but Sia deserves this #1 very much. She's been music's best kept secret for almost 15 years now, and it's thrilling to see her at the top (much to her chagrin).

No word on Ed Sheeran, but they are mentioning Sam Smith. I guess Sheeran is starting to fall apart. :( They really need to get that second single out asap. It goes for adds next week, but it should be out now.

How sad is that, that frozen could potentially go back to #1 again

This will be an uneventful week in terms of numbers, but Sia on top would be cool.

We are still talking about 'Frozen' being in the mix for #1 after all this time.
Barring some million in a week type album that could come out in the 4th quarter, the door for another album taking album of the year appears to be frozen shut.

Frozen has also topped the home video charts for 13 weeks this year. It's still in the top 2.

May I sat that I just saw Frozen for the first time a few days ago (I know, the shocker of it all), after enjoying the music for some months- and I quite enjoyed it. :)
Yep, the soundtrack has such a sizable lead that it probably has a lock on top seller of the year. Heck, even if there is an album that debuts with a million, that second-week drop will be harsh, and still it would need some great sales overall to challenge. Frozen is at some 2.73 million+ through week ending Sunday, and likely will continue to have decent sales likely through year's end.

So Sam could see a very, very tiny drop in his fourth week.

If Sia takes it this week, I'd love for Sam to take down Kidz Bop for the top slot next week.

No, labels need to spread out the 4th Quarter releases throughout the whole year.
There's very few albums by big artists coming out in the next 2 months.

Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith all opened strong this past month. Are you waiting for someone specifically?

And who can we look forward to opening so much north of 200k this year besides Taylor Swift?

^That's what I'm wondering about.
5 Seconds of Summer is supposed to open with 200k+ based on pre-orders.
But, after that...
*crickets*
Until Maroon 5 in September...
Jason Aldean in October....
Then Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Adele, Rihanna... Who all don't have release dates. Yet....

Really hope Sam can finally get that #1 album. I can't stand Sia and not the biggest fan of the songs she writes either.

Lil' Wayne could also do it. His "Carter" album series is very big.
2009: Tha Carter III | 1,005,545 2011: Tha Carter IV | 964,000 2014: Tha Carter V | ???

I cannot STAND Sia's gimmick regarding not wanting to show her face, I don't like her songwriting and I remain bewildered by the genesis of her accent. But there's no denying her stuff resonates with people, and I'm glad she's having a respectable sales week.

Wasn't this just a recent thing (with her latest album singles) of not wanting to face the audience when she sings? I've seen her perform in the past (even with Zero 7) and she faced the audience. I think this is just a gimmick tied to her current album release - although, I'm not quite sure what the message is.

Wasn't this just a recent thing (with her latest album singles) of not wanting to face the audience when she sings? I've seen her perform in the past (even with Zero 7) and she faced the audience. I think this is just a gimmick tied to her current album release - although, I'm not quite sure what the message is. This is a quote from an interview Sia did with Billboard last year: "If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous. Imagine the stereotypical highly opinionated, completely uninformed mother-in-law character and apply it to every teenager with a computer in the entire world. Then add in all bored people, as well as people whose job it is to report on celebrities. Then, picture that creature, that force, criticizing you for an hour straight once a day, every day, day after day." She also had addictions issues and discovered she had Graves disease in 2010 which caused her to temporarily leave her tour in 2010. After that it seems she lost her taste for the limelight and she announced her retirement. She wanted to continue to write songs anonymously but her manager and label begged her to do another album. She finally agreed but put in the agreement that she would not do promotions or tours for the album. RCA agreed to this and put it in her contract so they're lucky she's even doing any events even if she's not showing her face. It's funny how she's getting slammed for a gimmick though when no one seemed to have any problems with Daft Punk last year never showing their faces & having other people accept their awards and speaking on behalf of them.
