This one will not be going for adds now unless Maggie finds a new label side to deal with. RPMe closed their radio promo side today and basically said the label side was closed. Given how well she's done and that she's got some radio success behind her, another label SHOULD want to sign her but that could take a while. Wow. This is unfortunate news. We now have had two smaller labels close their doors in a few month time span. I agree that a label should want to bring her aboard to their roster but who knows; that sometimes can take a while. I do think she will find another home but I just hope it's sooner rather than later. Yeah, I'd think a label would want Chasin' Crazy too, especially if the other songs are better than "Summertime." We shall see.

Here's a link to the story about RPM Entertainment eliminating their radio promotion staff. Music Row

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! worst news of my day!!! :( I really feel sick to my stomach about it. I really want maggie to be successful. But I do for sure hope a bigger label will get on board.

Poor Maggie. She needs some Clear Channel On The Verge help to get going. The next one is right around the corner - they're picking another one in mid-August.

This is tragic news. I'm kinda shocked because even though it was a small label, they seemed to be doing quite well with Maggie. I mean heck, this already charted and it hadn't even gone for adds yet. This is so unfortunate to hear. I sure hope she gets scooped up quickly and this single isn't a waste of the big hit it could be. :(

Well that's sure lame. I'm sure she'll get picked up relatively soon though.

That's kind of strange that the label would release a new single from Maggie and have the adds date a week away just to turn around and close the label, not to mention not fair to Maggie. This was by far her most radio-friendly single that could have finally gotten her the hit she deserved. I hope she gets picked up by another label soon so that she can continue to promote this song as a single. I feel like Broken Bow would be a good fit for her, especially after the couple of song-drops of Aldean's material in this song.

part of me thinks releasing the song before closing was planned. if a label closes we would assume that they would want their former artists to find the right label. maggie had virtually and realisticly no momentum. They may have wanted her to leave the label with buzz. I believe girl in your truck song was the buzz and single that was meant to help her reach bigger labels. with out the song she would have no momentum and no buzz. And releasing the song was the best thing they could have done for her as of late.

Well, it's not like sending a song out to radio and iTunes takes much. It's the actual promotion of the song that costs money and RPM simply decided that they won't be able to afford it. I mean, look at how long it takes these new artists to move up the charts? And that's expensive. RPM hasn't had a true breakthrough and I don't think they were going to get one. Chasin' Crazy's song will probably fall off the charts now as a result as well. We also had Bigger Picture close literally a week or two before Ryan Kinder's debut single was set to go for adds. Pushing Craig Campbell up the chart literally drained the money well dry.

Well I did hear this song and I was kind of offended by the chorus (all I heard). It's basically saying "I'm okay with being objectified as long as I'm being objectified and not someone else" Maybe the verses sound different, but it's a bad message.

I am all for getting female acts on radio but this is EASILY the worst song of 2014 for me and quite honestly with this release her career deserves to be in the gutter. Atrocious.

Can't tell you whether or not to like the song, but I find reviews in which people are TELLING a woman how to be a more "empowered" woman to be inherently problematic. Maggie Rose is saying that she's putting jeans on so that SHE can feel sexy. She's riding around in trucks to have fun. And she wants to be a dream girl for guys. Who are we, whether as other women or especially as men, to tell her that she's a bad feminist for having that perspective? This is the same kind of mindset that suggests stay-at-home moms are degrading themselves. Also, I can't get behind referring to a "checklist of cliches" as inherently bad either. Save for maybe Merry Go Round, the best mainstream country song of the past few years is a song about a truck.

"I Drive Your Truck" and "We Rode In Trucks" are great songs, likewise "Drink a Beer" and "Beers Ago" are great beer songs (IMO of course). I just don't find this to be any stronger lyrically than anything the bros have given us. That said, it is sonically stronger than most radio fare.

Love her voice and the song sounds good. But I agree with your review. Seems like a 'lazy' lyrical effort to me, regardless of any feminist angle.

Anyway I'm sure this will be the nail in the coffin for this girl's 'career', and deservedly for anyone willing to put a garbage song like this out to radio.

RPM shuttered their radio promotion department, so Maggie is without label support for this song now. Unless she can get another label to pick up promotion for this, it won't be doing much of anything anyway.

Not a fan of the song, but that's harsh man. Not to mention untrue. We'll probably never know how it would've done unless a label picks her up very soon, but I think "Girl in Your Truck Song" had the potential to be her highest charting single yet. It certainly wouldn't have killed her career to release her most radio-friendly single to date, like what? lol.

And I'll add that despite the fact that I dislike this particular song, I would have been actively rooting for it simply due to the fact that I love Maggie and want her to breakout.
