Believe it or not, this is actually flying up our Alt chart. Not bad at all, it'd make a lot more sense on Active though. I've heard this a couple times now, and I can't get into it unfortunately But THIS one, which is cruising up Canada-Alt right now, I like Also, Pipa or Devin, do any of you know of any website where someone has tracked the Canadian alternative charts since 2011? I'm in need of them for my retroactive top 40s from 2011-13 so that I don't miss anything along the way. Multi Music works alright, but it isn't perfect, so I've been finding myself really covering alot of ground on the Canadian songs, and it's pretty time consuming lol.

That is amazing bro, thanks. I only have to cover from May-August 2013 on my own now, which isn't a big deal at all. This helps ALOT. On a side note, I can't believe how dead it's gotten on MS, it's too bad the merger with M4B couldn't have happened :(

I was considering boardiciding because of the Mods' oversensitive tendencies, but I decided against it.

Well I don't see what was so bad about my post, you'd think questioning the authenticity of an old video on the Internet is fine to do, but no... thing is you said it like it was a joke and I don't see how anyone would interpret your post as you thought, it's really vague I wasn't joking, I'm not the lead singe of KONGOS, I was saying that the video was not as bad as mainstream media hyped it up to be - the graphics were very low-res, and there wasn't as much blood as I expected from a normal beheading, therefore I was questioning whether the video itself was real or whether it was a case of people being sheep and following what everyone else told them to.

There are way more sheep than you thnik. I've been actively accusing Bill Board pop charts for the longest time. Maninly the Billboard Hot 100 as being bias towards Country and Offensive rap while secretly black listing Rock music from thier charts, but most people seem to think that Billboard is GOD and what they say is without questions asked. Even "Rockers" seldom question Billboard Hot 100. I kinda laid off the topic, because of the "sheep" who just go with the flow.

That's a bit of a ridiculous accusation to make though. People who happen to agree with how the Hot 100 is tabulated are "sheep"? What's your justification for thinking Billboard blacklists rock music from their charts? Sounds a bit 'out there' to me tbh.

well if you take into concideration how there is a world of difference between Billboard hot 100 and almost every other chart around ,including media base charts, is one reason. let's leave that behind for a minute and look at the facts. I mean the huge differences where those supposably popular Hot 100 country and Rap songs don't even break the top 40 mediabase pop charts or even get airplay; for that matter, unless it's on a rap or Country radio stations of that same formatt.. I'm not talkin about the more melodic songs from Iggy Azalea, etc... I'm talking about those straight out offensive ones that feel the need to repeat the "n" word on every other line. Country songs: though not as offensive are the same and yet somehow they are more popular than the top 10 songs on Alt and mainstream Rock? I call B.S.! It's almost as fixed as voting for government officials. and if it's about becomming popular because of streaming and itunes purchase; then I still say the public is being lead lkke sheep in the wrong artist direction becuse they give promotion to who they want. ..and I'm talking about the music industry. take this into concideration: One of the installed players on my laptop comes with images of the likes of jason Derulo, T.I., Katy Perry, whatever. I hate that music, so it doesn't phase me, but a younger , weeker minded lamb, would probobly get online and purchase songs from those artists just cuz of the images alone. Reason 2. the reason why Billboard Hot 100 is so different from any other pop chart is because Mediabase is actually what people request on the radio, not that offensive crap saturating the BBhot 100. I know quite a few Afro americans and all are offended by it. sadly ; the people buying it are the ones who don't even understand the lyrical content. They just think its cool to like rap, cuz that's what's in the chart. I'm not saying you peoople are "sheep" for believing in the process of tallying music. I'm saying ,are you sure they are actually tallying it fairly or just to promote(industry) what they want you to buy? A fair BB Hot 100 chart would showcase Top songs on mainstream and alt as well, because they are just as popular. Why do you think late night Talk Shows feature alot of breakout artists and hardly any of those supposably country and rap artists? beacuse the people would rather see Black Keys, Pretty Reckless, Godsmack, Big Data, Nothing More etc... There are just about the same number of Country/rap format radio format stations as there are Rock and Alt around the U.S. Seriously: nothing about BB Hot 100 coincides with what's going on around the rest of the nation. I could write hours on this without even having to touch the topic of the correct way of tallying up the music charts, because HOT 100 is not about that. It's about what the industry wants you to buy. Think about it, take a look around and you too, will start to question Billbaord Hot 100. and I'm not the only one. You see comments like this on You tube all the time. A few years back was when I started noticing too many inconsistencies with BBb Hot 100 and I was a huge BB Hot 100 fan back in the day. I even own 80s issues. I started inquiring about it and Had some discussions on other forums and yes.. I believe many of those artists buy thier positions on the Hot 100. Some of that music is just horrible to the point where you can't even mention a post- 2010 pop song and something truely artistic from the 60s70s80s90s2000s in the same sentence with a straight face. There is no way I'm going to belive that peoples musical tastes have declined so much to the point where music is just reduced to a song of the moment for the industries "quick buck"
this post actually belongs on the general music thread, but you asked me here, so I'm sorry to talk about it on Canadian thread; which by the way doesn't follow this practice im talkin' about.

This thread is supposed to be a sanctuary for us Canadians, not a flawed clone of the general rock discussion thread. I'm no mod, but can we please move this discussion back there? It's cool for everyone to participate here, but can it be related to the Canadian rock/alt charts or about CanCon artists, please?
