The vocal performance is absolutely awful! I actually liked his 2 previous hits better. At least those songs were within his vocal range, and those songs had better melody/production than this one.

My favorite Tyler Farr single and its the one struggling the most. I know I know, 5th/3rd single and Christmas but still he should be moving a little faster after 2 top 3 hits. Hot Mess was ok but generic, I disliked both Hello Goodbye (grating) and Redneck Crazy (just horrible), but this one and Whiskey In My Water I've liked, so I guess I'm warming up to Mr Farr here This is his lead single from his next album. Then more reason to my post, although I honestly thought this was from his debut album, oops

He's not an artist who is going to get instant adds. Very few new artists are. Even a guy like Frankie Ballard (with two #1 hits) will have his singles go slower up the charts. I still expect this one to be a hit though.

This has been consistently selling well on iTunes and currently sits in the same area of the iTunes all-genre chart as Brad Paisley's top 5 hit "Perfect Storm" and above a good bit of songs in the top 30. Radio was hesitant to play this at first because it's a slower song that "makes you think" but I definitely expect this to slowly make its way into the top 10 and eventually become Tyler Farr's third Mediabase #1 and first Billboard #1.

I heard this one three times this week on "big market" stations (Detroit and Flint) so I think it's starting to heat up.

Has anyone heard any news about Tyler's next album? I'm assuming they'll want to release it to coincide with the peak of this song, which I would guess will occur sometime in April or May. It seems like Tyler and this song have really been floating under the radar for a bit, but it's nice to see this song doing fairly well on iTunes right now.

Tyler mentioned yesterday on The Highway with Storme Warren that he has cut 10 songs for this new album and was cutting the final 3 songs this week (I believe one was being recorded that day, yesterday). So he's pretty much finished making the album with a cut down to 10 or 11 tracks coming for the final product.

Here's a quote from Tyler Farr in the newest Country Weekly:
"I've been out all year with Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line on the Burn It Down Tour and [Jason's] actually doing a song on the new album with me, so we'll have a collaboration on there"
Hmm lets see, "Redneck Crazy" + "Burnin' It Down" = "Burnin Down (My Ex Girlfriend's Home)"?
Lol just joking, should be interesting

I actually run a blog for fun and got to interview Tyler this past summer. He told me the song he did with Jason is called "Damn Good Friends". His quote about the song was:
"It is one of my favorites on the album. The main gist of the song is that you have a couple hundred buddies, but only a few damn good friends. It talks about breaking down, stuck out and the tow truck is taking too long, so who do you call? It’s an edgier take on You Find Out Who Your Friends Are. So, it talks about going into a bar and kissing on a brunette when an ex shows up and you see its going to be 3 on 1 and you need to call your friend. It also talks about getting married because I’m going through that as Lee just got married. I think he has had a litter of kids. And Jerrod is now engaged, so I felt like singing something like All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down."

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with that description, at least it doesn't sound like it'll be cliche-ridden like "Small Town Throwdown" and "Only Way I Know"

Had a pretty good laugh today when WKIS in Miami introduced this song as "Tyler's new single". It's been out since August, I think they could drop the "new" part.

Some on my local station introduced "Talladega" as Eric's new one right before it hit #1. Kinda odd, though I doubt they chart watch as hard as we do here at pulse.

Went for adds on August 18th (2014), and today on March 29th (2015), officially cracks the top 10 on MB at #9. Ladies and gentleman, I give you the modern day country singles charts.

"Suffer In Peace" is available on iTunes, and holy s**t is it a quality song. If you're a fan of traditional country, listen to this song right now. Beautiful song. Actually i'll post it in here:

Musically, you can't get more traditional than that. And lyrically, what a picture he paints. I don't think they'll release two ballads in a row but what a crying shame if this song doesn't get released as the third single.

Actually i'll post it in here: Thanks. Love it, too! The track lacks a bit of "personality", wouldn't call it a generic sound but it just chugs along without any real unique trade mark to it. Nonetheless, it gets thumbs up.

From what he's released this is shaping up to be my favorite album this year. Say what you will about his voice but he had some quality songs on his first album and this one has been nothing but great so far. I think that Suffer in Peace (album) is going to hush anyone who isn't on board with Farr and turn many to being fans.

Album is out now, and it's pretty damn good. It's very country sounding, and I really appreciate the sound of this album. Seeing how they're touring together, I think they should release "Damn Good Friends" with Jason Aldean. That song is a hit if I ever heard one, and maybe with Jason on the song Tyler would be able to have a faster climb up the charts. If he could have some faster chart climbs, I think this album could easily go 4 singles deep because it's so solid. "Withdrawals", "Raised To Pray", "Criminal", "Poor Boy", and even "I Don't Even Want This Beer" all seem single worthy IMO. Tyler has really surprised me with this album, and he is easily one of my favorite newcomers now. The best part is the album is pretty devoid of trucks/rivers/moonlight songs :)

So I just listened to this for the first time since it was released since it (unfortunately) looks to be another #1 hit for Tyler soon. Firstly, I don't understand the appeal of this song at all. The storyline is incredibly boring. Secondly, I can barely understand what he's singing half the time. And lastly, how do people enjoy, let alone tolerate his voice? It's so bad. I've thought this about his voice on every single one of his songs... Out of all the new artists out there, Tyler is easily my least favorite. I haven't heard his new album (and most likely won't), but I really hope his success doesn't last.
Here's to hoping that Keith/Eric, Billy, FLGA Line, or literally anyone can block this from #1.

^ Yeah, I totally agree about his voice zaclord 🌈. I think he sounds laughably bad on this. Some of the notes he hits and the way he phrases things are so strange that I find them humorous. He's one of the most puzzling successes of the past few years for me, because I find virtually no redeeming qualities about him or his voice. He really personifies the "country radio will play anything by someone so long as they are male."

I actually like his voice quite a bit. It's different. At least he doesn't sound like something we've heard before. To each their own, but I think he writes good quality songs (mostly) and has a unique delivery vocally.

Tyler is actually one of the newcomers who I can tolerate. I mean, his music is definitely not in the Jon Pardi/Sam Hunt level to me, but I can definitely listen to a song of his, as opposed to someone like Cole Swindell or Thomas Rhett

I can see where people wouldn't like his voice (preferences and all) but to say he's a bad singer is laughable to me. i also can hear every word he's saying here, quite easily. To me he enunciates well on this one.

I agree with rsmatto. I can understand how he might not appeal to everyone, we all have different taste. But some of these comments are just bizarre to me. He's a technically strong singer, whether you like his voice/tone or not. He's classically trained, spending most of his life in show choirs and all-state choirs, singing all kinds of music, including opera. He has great vocal control, it's just a very different voice.

I understand people not liking his voice, as it's certainly not smooth like John Legend or something. But for what's it's worth, many review sites and articles are actually praising his vocal talents on this Suffer In Peace album. Tyler has training in traditional classical singing (read that on Billboard I believe). And that's what I love about him: when he comes on the radio he sounds completely different and distinct. Even though I like some of these artists, a lot of the new guys all sound awfully similar. And this song is the tried and true heartbreak song with a central theme to it (like a 3 minute song version of Pulp Fiction). I think it's quite unique in that sense. I can't understand how this song is boring at all.
