That news is fantastic if true. That total price seems like a dream so I'll wait for confirmation to shout for joy. The song sounds great as well though it doesn't strike me as a lead single. Either way I hope all of that or at least most of it will be official soon.
BTW: It'd be cool to see Bob DiPiero to get another single writing credit. He's only had four I believe over the past 6-7 years with "Lovin' You Is Fun" being the last.

Wow...am I understanding that correctly, that people will be able to buy everything he's ever released for just $29.99?! :O And holy crap, the demo of "Tacoma" sounds absolutely incredible. I hope that that is indeed the lead single. That price would be amazing. I'd imagine it'll be his regular studio albums and the double live project. Don't know if it'd include the Ultimate Hits or the Blame it all On My Roots boxset (since Walmart had exclusivity on that for a while yet). I imagine his whole catalog of CDs will appear in stores with RCA as the label logo on them too.

Saw Caitlyn Smith opening for Chris Stapleton, really liked her voice and am glad to see this. I imagine there's two singers who any songwriter would give their left leg to have a song cut by, Garth being one, George Strait the other.

Dang, missed the Tacoma demo. They took it down. I'll keep looking for another version. Should have captured the audio while I could - but that would be kinda illegal.

This new (unconfirmed) news really excites me. The demo for Tacoma sounds absolutely incredible as it is and would only be better. I'll definitely purchases his whole catalog for that price. It's becoming more and more evident that Garth's fully committed to this comeback and he is out to be the biggest name in country music (again). It'll be interesting to see if he can match the success of names like FGL, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Blake Shelton with his comeback. I say that, meaning can he produce constant hits and be as popular with the current younger generation of fans. It'll be interesting to see how his comeback changes country music. The fact that he could release a strictly traditional country sounding single and have it be a virtually guaranteed success makes me wonder if that's what he'll do. I see all of those acts decline in popularity in the next 2 years. Aldean has clearly already peaked and there is only so far FGL and Luke can go with their limited talents. I think Garth will have absolutely no problem outselling these acts and out-performing their touring revenues. Country radio is another story, but as proven countless times, radio is not as important as it likes to think it is.

FGL, Jason and Luke are hot right now, but their stars are bound to fade within the next few years. You simply cannot compare any of them to Garth, who had plenty of fantastic material and insane fan support to back up his success. Let's be honest, radio needs GARTH more than he needs them. He's an icon whose name alone incites a frenzy. Let's see where Aldean, FGL and Luke are in ten years, if they're around at all.

His new single just stayed #1 on iTunes for an entire week. That may BE his peak, but if so, he has just reached it.

Does this mean Garth will release his new music on CD? I don't blame him for not wanting digital release...the way of the LP record or CD is the way of the dinosaur and it doesn't seem really that real, plus Apple makes wayyyy too much money off it's albums...Convenience is all. They also released "THE LIMITED SERIES" as a box set a few years ago, with "Sevens", "Scarecrow", "The Lost Sessions", "a DVD" and "Double Live".. Why do they need to keep releasing his old albums, a lot of which already have them

Poor guy! The lyrics are even more heart-wrenching with him singing it.

His new music WILL Be on CD (maybe Vinyl too). His old music will likely get a CD (maybe vinyl) retail footprint too. CDs STILL sell, particularly 'heritage' acts like Garth Brooks (especially since they'll likely be $5 or $7.50 each).

@windmillsmusic:
Missed this yesterday: New post says Garth Brooks' upcoming lead single is "People Loving People". According to 102thebull.com
@windmillsmusic:
If this is true, the new Garth Brooks lead single is written by busbee/Lee Thomas Miller/Chris Wallin
@windmillsmusic:
@broadwayonair, Not sure there is a demo online, but I didn't look very hard.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course not confirmation but according to 102 The Bull, "People Loving People" will be the title of Garth's new single and not "Tacoma". Don't know if this is true, but that demo of "Tacoma" I quite enjoyed so I'd be a little bummed if that was in fact not the lead single.

The sudden delay suggests they may have found the new song and decided that it would perform better. It's happened before. Whatever the new single is, it is allegedly coming out in early September so we should be hearing more about it soon. However, I don't tend to trust Windmills.

No, the delay was to not run into the Jason and Blake debuts. I think Garth has known for a while what the single will be. I highly doubt that they would have come across a song they loved so much that they would alienate country radio by delaying the release by a month. And windmills didn't originally report this - 102 in Birmingham did, which I stated in my post. Windmills gets some things wrong but they've been very knowledgable about the industry and do get things right. This is not even close to fact but something to keep an eye on.

Broadway from 92.5 in CT tweeted earlier that Tacoma is not the single and the label wouldn't say any more.

Just confirmed! Artist: Garth Brooks Song: People Loving People Label: RCA/Pearl Records Add Date: September 2, 2014 Songwriters: Chris Wallin, Lee Thomas Miller and Busbee (Michael Ryan James Busbee) Source: directly from Garth Brooks, Chris Wallin & Busbee (Songwriters)It originally was going to be "Tahoma", but Garth changed it to "People Loving People". Unless Sony Records pushes back the add date again, it will be in fact Sept 2nd. The song will be put on sale at GarthBrooks.com as part of his new digital music service. His previous studio albums will be bundled together there at the same time for $29.99. Per Chris Wallin's Facebook page: " Chris Wallin shared a link 7 hours ago: Ok guy it's time.. I not only have 3 cuts (if by chance they all make the album) but well I have ........... THE FIRST GARTH BROOKS SINGLE OFF THE NEW RECORD! I wrote with buddies Busbee and Lee Miller . I wasn't going to say anything until I saw an official article . Been burned so many times. Goes to radio sept 2nd. Be listening for PEOPLE LOVING PEOPLE on a radio near you......" Chris Wallin's Facebook PageThree more additional sources: atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=647624 , m.1021thebull.com/onair/brian-jennings-50726/garth-news-first-single-title-is-12680480/ , and www.country925.com/onair/electric-barnyard-50108/garths-first-single-12693405*** No single cover art or sound/video clips yet

I know the poster you mention on ATRL and he works for UMG. He's right 90% of the time...but I wouldn't count him as a source.
Says his fans will hear it the morning of the 3rd. It's possible that Garth will do a premiere on the 2nd and the DJ is going to guarantee airplay on the 3rd. But it looks like it is happening soon.

I think that this thread can be combined with the Garth thread started by Kanenrá:ke since we've been discussing Garth's upcoming single for a while. And Windmills was correct with this being the single as well. I'm interested by the title though "Tacoma" had my hopes us since I got to hear the demo. I hope it's not similar to "We Shall Be Free", since that's not really among my favorites from Garth's catalog but I'm still anxious just like everyone else.

Great suggestion sabre14 and that is exactly what I did! (first time logging onto Pulse today) :) Chris Wallin posting that to his Facebook page is enough of a source, since he is one of the co-writers. I am glad we finally have a date and I hope it was worth the wait. The "Tacoma" demo was great so I hope that that song is indeed on the album as well, and I hope PLP is a great comeback single for Garth.

Just by the title it sounds like it could be "We Shall Be Free 2.0" We shall see! Or something Chris Gaines might record (think Right Now).

Yeah, I trust Chris more than anyone and he used the ATRL link as the one to announce the fact that he got the first Garth single. So, even if ATRL is 90% right, Chris Wallin is 100% right because he was told in advance of the news, he was just waiting for someone to post about it so he could have proof when he mentioned it on his Facebook page. Now his page is blowing up with congrats. Dude has 3 cuts off the new Garth record, that in itself is impressive. He's really starting to get a TON of street cred as a writer now so good for him :)

Good for Chris. I met him a few times years back when he first came to Nashville in some of the Songwriting bars around town. He always seemed like a good guy. I'm looking forward to this but would echo sabre14 sentiment in that I hope this isn't a We Shall Be Free ver.2. I think it was preachy material like that that kinda wore thin on even some of his biggest fans.

So I'm not going to give out any names here, but last night I got to hang out with a very CLOSE source to the tracking for Garth's next record and he/she gave me some info that I thought was pretty cool (for those interested).
So far Garth has cut 23 songs with the G-men (which is his studio band he likes to use, same guys that were on all the sessions for his previous albums), but he has also cut 4 to 5 other songs with other legendary session players like Eddie Bayers, Kenny Greenberg, etc. "People Loving People" was not tracked with the G-men, but with the other session players. This particular source hadn't heard "People Loving People" either but Garth was telling them about it one day and how he was excited for the song to come out.
As for the rest of the album.... there is NOT one "Bro-Country" song that has been tracked, nor will there be. There have been quite a bit of songs that when you hear them you will say "ahhh yes, classic Garth".... BUT, supposedly he is trying some new things as well with this record where a couple of songs that have been tracked so far have a Mumford & Sons feel to the tracks and one that Garth wrote himself that is straight up Rock, and was described to be along the lines of Aerosmith. There are some killer ballads so far that have been tracked and a couple that had the session guys saying they were simply incredible.
Overall however, the album is slated to be finished in time for release around Black Friday and sounds to be a good one. I for one am excited to hear it :)
