"Jealous" still sounds as fresh to me as it did in September, but I'm having trouble getting into this one. Hopefully it'll click soon! Nick's so likeable; a boyband member gone solo who isn't arrogant af.

I agree with the general sentiment in this thread; I don't understand why they would backtrack to this and not release "Numb." The only thing I can think of is they wanted to save money by not having to pay for another video, or they wanted to try that single release strategy where some of the obvious singles are released later on to give the album some legs. But the former plan can backfire since streaming is becoming a significant component in a song's success, and the latter strategy might not work because the album isn't selling well at all.

Well, i don't think the video of Jealous did that much for the success of the song. There are a good bunch of examples of songs rereleased that worked really well. I know here some people's mentality is that if a song fail to catch the attention the first time you need to move on, but i don't agree, sometimes the moment of the release is everything. And the album is top 50 on sales, not a big success but not a disaster yet, and i think he is the kind of artist who will need several hits before translating into album sales. Even if the song ends not working (at least it seems it'll be a top 40 hit without a real push and the itunes position is rising at good rhythm) it will show a different side of his music which could be positive in the long run

I'm not entirely sure why his label isn't pouring money into him, he's clearly on his way to being a cultural revelation. If paying for another video is a concern, it shouldn't be. Re-releasing a song isn't always a bad move, but this is the no where near the best song on the album. "Chains" is no "Who Knew."

I think they're saving "Numb" .
Who knows maybe Nick liked that song and pushed for the rerelease

Not a fan of Jealous but congrats to Nick for getting it to the top after a long battle! This one is way better IMO so I hope this can become his second consecutive chart topper!

I think this is the right song to release right now considering the timing. This seems more like a winter song. "Numb" doesn't scream summer, but I think it would do better as a follow-up to this.

I still don't understand why he's not using his best asset to his advantage in his music videos... His body. If the female pop stars could do it all the time, so could he.

I heard this on the radio while flipping through stations in the car and it sounded so good. This will be another sleeper hit.

This should have been a hit as well. I'm glad they are going back to it. It's smart in my opinion. He will launch a new single for the summer to keep the era moving.

(Why is everyone talking about this like it already went to radio? It was just a preview track from the album.)

I don't know if that's a good idea Perhaps Nick has not done that as much because it seems so obvious. He always has that as an option if he ever needed to but chances are, he won't. If he did, I would want it done in an artistic context (like the interpretative dance in P!nk's "Try" video). Nick and his team know he has sex appeal, but they are letting the music speak for itself which is the most important thing.

I feel like they should have gone with Teacher. That would have built more buzz. This is risky. It's a good song and I hope radio plays it but I'm not sure it will. He's not an established pop radio artist yet.

Nick and his team know he has sex appeal, but they are letting the music speak for itself which is the most important thing. I agree, it's not a bad idea per se, and in the correct context it could work. But he wants to be take seriosly and showing abs right now can distract from his music. With females people expect that (in fact the number of female star who don't go the sexy route is very limited), but with males is different, i can think of Jason Derulo, and even Bieber and Austin Mahone use clothes that scream sex (which is weird as hell because both look like minors, and somebody should tell them than nobody looks good in leather sweatpants). And there's even the risk to damage his image or look fake (everytime i wash a Trey Songz video i can't help but feel the vibe that it all will work better if he drops that tired womanizer image). Nick has the body to do it, and he is an actor, but if he goes there i hope he'll do it with an apropiate song, something that doesn't look forced. And frankly it will work better if he has a couple of hits under his belt

Really bizarre that they haven't capitalized on his sex appeal in his music videos. His singles can be peaking a lot higher on Billboard if he took more risks in his videos. For the 3rd single, they need to sex it up.

Nick just performed on the Miss Universe pageant telecast. He began with this and then went into a little bit of "Teacher" before finishing with "Jealous." A bit of the Rooftop Boys dance mix of "Jealous" was played in between "Teacher" and the regular version of "Jealous".
