"Ready to Run" has that SOML organic feel that almost makes it sound Pop-Country! I love it!

Ready to Run sounds like Avicii's Wake Me Up for the first 30 seconds or so with some Story of My Life thrown in and then an anthemic chorus. It's alright. Fireproof is still my favorite out of everything thus far.

This is shaping up to be my least favorite album by them, I hope the other tracks prove me wrong.

A store in Brazil started selling this early today. It has leaked. Attachment Deleted"No Control" is an uptempo song pretty much saying "I'm horny." One lyric is "Waking up beside you I'm a loaded gun." "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" is made for stadiums.

Ok here are the lyrics to "No Control." If there is something wrong with this, I'll delete it.
VERSE Whoa (?)
stained, the coffee cup (???)
just that fingerprinted lipsticks not enough
sleep, where you lay
still a trace of innocence on the pillow case
CHORUS
waking up
beside you I’m a loaded gun
i can’t contain this ANYMORE
im all yours
I’ve got no control
no control
powerless
i don’t care if its obvious
i just can’t get enough of you
but I don’t care, my eyes are closed
no control
VERSE
your taste, on my tongue
i don’t want to wash away the night before
and the heat, where you laid
i could stay right here and burn in this all day
CHORUS
waking up
beside you I’m a loaded gun
i can’t contain this ANYMORE
im all yours
I’ve got no control
no control
powerless
i don’t care if its obvious
i just can’t get enough of you
but I don’t care,
my eyes are closed
no control
BRIDGE
lost my senses
im defenceless
love from yous holding me restless
sweet and sour
i devour
lying here i count the hours
CHORUS REPEATED
waking up
beside you I’m a loaded gun
i can’t contain this anymore
I’m all yours
I got no control, no control
powerless
and i don’t care if its obvious
i just can’t get enough of you
the battles down ????
my eyes are closed
no control
control repeated

From what I heard this is probably their worst album. I will wait to hear the deluxe songs before deciding on whether I'll even buy this.

Just listened, on first impression:
LOVE: "18" "Clouds" "No Control" "Ready To Run"
Like: "Steal My Girl" "Night Changes" "Fireproof"
Indifferent: "Stockholm Syndrome" "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" "Spaces"
Dislike: "Girl Almighty" "Fool's Gold"
They are definitely continuing down the mature path, and I like it, it's pleasant, it's not as instant as their other albums, but that's okay. It's my least favorite of the albums so far, but even then I still like this!!! :) Rating: B-

This album is insanely good! A much more matured sound too. Bonus tracks will still be new to me, they haven't leaked! The vocal techniques they are doing on here are incredible! I can't wait to hear this music live in a stadium!

Twitter is going nuts too. I found the leak there in under 5 seconds.
"No Control" is such a sexual song but it's set to a rock-ish beat! It could be such a huge hit. I hope it doesn't end up the "Rock Me" or "Happily" or "Stole My Heart" of this album. It has to be a single!
Their voices have never sounded better than on this album. They do vocal things I've never heard them do, all over the record! I'm so impressed!
I can't say any of the songs are close to bad. I give this an A+.

So let's review their sound album by album:
Up All Night - 100% boy band pop with extensive synthesizer usage and shallow lyrics
Take Me Home - Similar formula but with a tighter edge on the hooks. Also some experimenting with rock (Rock Me), but mostly a sequel to the above.
Midnight Memories - An attempt to break the mold and become a real band. Arguably, it's their best crafted album in terms of songwriting and production. Nearly every song on there has a genuine hook and could have had the potential of being a single. While there might be some odd dablings (Little Black Dress), it's not as obvious as before.
Four - After listening to the leaks, I find it that this is a harder pill to swallow. I'm not sure if its because I'm expecting MM Volume 2 or what, but there's a slight departure here from writing songs that contain massive hooks. In fact, it seems like the ballad was the theme here. I loved "18"... but that's because Ed Sheeran is a great songwriter and I have a knack for his style. And there's the surprises such as "No Control"... Are we talking about the same band? Loveeeeeee it!
So... My overall rating for Four is going to be a B+ . There's actually a lot of good tracks here but some of them are truly disposable.

Don't know whether I should listen to this album or not Give every album a chance, who knows, you just might like it! I think that even if I find one song that I like, it's still a success because now I have another song to add to my collection! :)

It'll be worth the wait.
Now what I'm really curious to hear are those deluxe edition bonus tracks. They usually tend to be good songs.

After hearing all 12 songs, "Where Do Broken Hearts go" is a no-brainer for a single. It really should be the 2nd single and not "Night Changes." "Night Changes" is a good song but no where as catchy as "Broken " is. As big of fan as 1D as I am I will admit that their label has always been horrible on follow-up singles on their albums, which is why most of them stall outside the top 10, even the lead singles honestly. We are now 4 albums in and they have only had 2 top 10 radio singles "Beautiful" and "Story." If some better decision making had taken place there would have easily been 6 or 7 top 10 hits by now.
Missed chances: Album 1: "Tell Me a Lie" and "Stole My Heart" ("One Thing" was too close in sound to "Beautiful) Album 2: "Rock Me" and "The Don't Know About Us"-The latter they've never performed live! Tragic! ("Kiss You" was forgettable as a single) Album 3: "Happily" and "Right Now" also "Through the Dark" would have worked.("Midnight Memories" and "You and I" were awful single choices) Album 4: PLEASE let these be the singles-"Where Do Broken Hearts Go" and "No Control." "18" would work too.

^I agree with you on their single choices...I shake my head at most of the single choices they've made.
1: WMYB (obviously), "Tell Me a Lie" (I think they could've gotten a lot out of this one having a big name cowrite (Kelly Clarkson, for those who don't know), plus it's different from everything else on their first album), "Up All Night" (I think this was a single outside the US, but would've done well in the US as well.) I love "One Thing" but do think it's too similar to WMYB. I will admit their first album is far from my favorite by them, but they still could've done better with the singles than they did.
2: LWWY was an awful choice for a lead single; "Kiss You" should've been the lead single actually. "Little Things" I agree with this one and releasing it second was great also; wish it did better. "Rock Me", "I Would", "C'mon C'mon", "Last First Kiss", "They Don't Know About Us" and actually "She's Not Afraid" even though it was only on the deluxe version--any of these would've made good singles (certainly better than LWWY).
3: BSE & SOML were fine. I can even get behind "You and I" if not for that awful video. No to MM. "Don't Forget Where You Belong", "Diana", "Strong" or "Happily" (not both), "Through the Dark", "Something Great", "Little White Lies", "Better Than Words"--again, any of these would've been great. I disagree on "Right Now", that's honestly not one of my favorites.
4: I haven't (won't) listen to anything beyond "Steal My Girl" and "Fireproof" yet. (Not till next week.) I will say that these 2 songs are fantastic, but I'm not so sure on SMG being the lead single. Also, the title "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" alone is getting me pumped for the song (just the title--haven't even heard it yet and it sounds like a smash!)
In general, I wish they would extend their album eras out a bit more. Their albums are good, cohesive albums that deserve more than 2-3 singles per release. Plus, I think releasing a new album every year is a bit overboard and has really burned them out may end up burning them out in the long run. Their honestly could've been 5-6 singles from MM, 4-5 from TMH and 4-5 from UAN. Also, I notice they don't often release the songs the guys write as singles and I think they should/will change that with FOUR.

Okay, I think the singles should be:
1. Steal My Girl 2. No Control 3. Ready To Run 4. 18
But that's just me...
And they missed these opportunities on the other albums:
Up All Night Up All Night
Take Me Home Rock Me
Midnight Memories Happily
There's always one song that gets away...

^ One may get away but for 1D it's been more like a herd!
I honestly don't think their record label cares all that much about radio. 1D is one of the few acts that can sell a million+ albums and sell out stadiums based on their names alone. As long as that formula works, great. But how long can their label avoid getting serious with radio before it bites them in the ass?

I know I was just naming an absolute SMASH from each album they missed out on. And they should take it more seriously, if they want the most profit out of them, radio is a key part of making money, and you can't rely on name forever... as some acts have already shown us. So they better get their shit together if they want longevity. Also, I would imagine that when their contracts end, they won't be signing another and they'll probably go solo, what do you guys think? I mean, there's no way they will last too much longer, and I feel like it's time for them to stop touring and recording nonstop, take a deserved break, and try to make it as solo artists.
