Added every artist that has at least 10 top 10 hits to my list for a grand total of 186 artists. Providing nothing crazy happens we are just a few weeks away from possibly adding the 187th artist with 10 top 10's to the list. Now we wait to see if this artist will make it.

No new top 10's this week but in the coming weeks if not next Jason Aldean should collect his 30th top 10. This would make him the 54th artist in history with at least 30 top 10's.

Dan + Shay get their 6th top 10 this week with "All To Myself" and Justin Moore becomes the 187th artist to have 10 top 10's as "The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home" enters the top 10 this week. I've added Justin to the list and below are his 10 top 10's ranked according to the biggest hit by Billboard.
1. You Look Like I Need A Drink #1 (2016) 2. Somebody Else Will #1 (2017) 3. Til My Last Day #1 (2013) 4. Lettin' The Night Roll #1 (2014) 5. Small Town USA #1 (2009) 6. If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away #1 (2011) 7. Point At You #2 (2013) 8. Backwoods #6 (2010) 9. Small Town Throwdown with Brantley Gilbert & Thomas Rhett #8 (2014) 10. The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home #10 (so far) (2019)

This doesn't have to do with an artist reaching the top 10 but with an artist and song staying in the top 10 for a long time. On Monday, "Whiskey Glasses" got what I believe is 16th week in the top 10 of Country Airplay which is super impressive since so many of them have been on its way down the chart. Where does this rank in most weeks in the top 10 in recent years? I would think some of the other really big hits like "Die A Happy Man", "Body Like a Backroad" and "Beautiful Crazy" spent a long time in the top 10 as well. Does anyone know how many those got and what the record is currently?

Out of all the reference books out there, they do not list stuff like that. It would be interesting to see what country single spent the most time in the top ten. I'm guessing it happened during the 1940s or 1950s when the charts were slower. Who knows?

onebuffalo I'm trying to get all the top 10 singles of the artists that have had 20 or more and make a playlist of them. I just recently found a signed copy of Gene Watson's Best of the Best 25 Greatest Hits. It has 19 of his 21 top 10 singles and I have 2 questions about the album. Are they re-recorded versions of the songs? Is there a better compilation with all of his top 10 singles? The 2 top 10 singles that are missing from the album are "You Could Know As Much About A Stranger" and "Forever Again". Thanks in advance! Any info would be great as I have a long way to go to get all these top 10's.

Yes, that compilation is nothing but rerecorded versions of Gene Watson's hits. The only Watson album I have is his greatest hits album on MCA Records. Here are three albums you should check out: Minus the first song (which is on MCA), the rest are original Capitol hits, including You Could Know As Much About A Stranger. This is the one I have. It includes Forever Again. This is really the only multi-label hits package. Includes songs from Capitol, MCA, Epic, and Warner Bros. I hope this was helpful and I am sorry for the delay.

onebuffalo Downloading both Gene Watson compilation albums now. I know this doesn't go along with this thread but I'm looking for a good studio version of Judy Rodman's #1 single "Until I Met You". Itunes has one on a compilation called At Her Very Best but thought I'd ask if there's a better version of the song.

Anyway, that is the ORIGINAL version of Until I Met You. That six song album contains She Thinks That She'll Marry (#9 in 1987), I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (#5 in 1987), and Girls Ride Horses, Too (#7 in 1987). It contains her versions of Bridge Over Troubled Water and Everything Is Beautiful.

I've been singing that one since 1986, the year it came out.

Is the 20th Century Masters Collection series albums studio versions of songs? I need some of the Lee Greenwood songs on his and I don’t want to download it if they’re not studio versions. Also where can I get the studio version of the John Conlee hit? Thanks for all your help!

In the case of Lee Greenwood, it would be a more comprehensive package of his hits. In the case of Reba McEntire and George Strait, who have a longer hit list, UMG just selects 10-12 songs and just puts it together. I like my greatest hits albums to have some cohesiveness to them. Thus, none of them are in my collection. As for John Conlee, you may want to try the studio album itself, Harmony. You get the title track, Got My Heart Set On You, and The Carpenter. I hope all of this was helpful!

Have you ever noticed the sound quality of older studio albums are weaker than like the Essential or Very Best Of series of certain artists? For example I recently purchased Alabama’s Roll On and the title tracks sound is a little weaker than the version on The Essential Alabama. I’m assuming this is what they call remastered versions of the songs? That way the sound quality is better than the original studio versions? I don’t know but the compilation versions sound better in my opinion for older artists.
