I keep hearing Girls In Bikinis on XMSirius. Whats up with that if this is the singe? Girls In Bikinis is a much better song IMO. Drinking Class is pretty average. Because The Highway can do what they want. Also Girls in Bikinis is lame.

Sometimes I only listen to The Highway if Y2Kountry is playing something like "When The Sun Goes Down" or "Amazed". You're right on them playing whatever they wish. They are still playing that awful "Down For A Get Down" by Josh Thompson even though his actual single is approaching the top 40.

I'm really loving the production of these new songs! It's got that pop-country meets Eric Church. I'm still hooked on I Don't Dance, but I could see myself loving this one just as much, eventually!

I'm going to chime in here and say that "girls in bikinis" is awful.. sorry but I've seen Lee Brice do much better.

I'm really loving this song. Especially the production and Lee's vocals. The "oohawhoo"s sound very nice. I like this much more than I did "I don't Dance."
So excited for this album

But at least it's only lame and boring than unlistenable.

"Girls in Bikinis" is dumb, but it cracks me up. The line "High-five to the guy who thought about cutting that thing in two", I chuckle every time I hear it. With Lee's track record, I'm not worried, for every one of that type of song there's usually two or three "Hard to Love"/"Love Like Crazy" type songs on the album.

^^ Wow...that is one hell of a song. The production, vocals are terrific, and it is on repeat right now. I love when he belts out "Truck Tires on a Gravel Roaaaddd"

Is it unrealistic that this guy hits A-List status with this album? He's been very successful of late.
"A Woman Like You" - #1, platinum "Hard to Love" - #1, platinum "I Drive Your Truck" - #1, gold, song of the year "Parking Lot Party" - top 10, gold "I Don't Dance" - #1, nearly platinum
I dunno, doesn't seem to out of the question.

He's definitely had some radio success, but I still don't know that the name "Lee Brice" exudes strong excitement from both fans and programmers alike. In other words, I just don't know if radio is quite at that point yet where they hear "new Lee Brice single" and they'll jump all over it like they would for a new Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, or Kenny Chesney (etc) single. And regarding the fans...they've definitely showed up for Lee, but I'm also not convinced that he's quite at that point where he can headline a major tour (I know many B and C-level artists are 'headlining' shows, but I'm talking about a major tour). Lee has toured with Brad Paisley recently and he's currently opening up for Luke on his That's My Kind Of Night tour. Perhaps he could take the leap to headlining his own bigger tour (maybe playing to 6,000 to 10,000 people per show), but I'm not sure if he and his management feel that he's quite 'there' yet. Furthermore, he doesn't have the best record label situation. I know Curb has done well with Lee and he's obviously their #1 priority, but they still tend to mismanage their artists and make bone-headed choices when it comes to selecting singles. So far they've done well with him but it wouldn't shock me if the well ran dry here, either, and through no fault of Lee's.

jhomes87 i dunno i mean i saw him with Luke Bryan this summer and people went absolutely nuts over him every one from the looks of it was singing along to every song except for new ones like "Drinking Class" and "Good Man". I'm not speaking for radio programmers but he definently has popular support

Loved this from day one. It has all what it takes to be a stadium anthem. The sound is great. Great overall song structure and the production is really neat. The lyrics may be a bit pathetic and cliché but on the whole very solid delivery. Somehow, I feel this will click with the male crowd and female audiences will not relate.

More I listen to this, the more I like it too. He has such a great voice. Releasing "Panama City" or "That Don't Sound Like You" from his newest album could propel him to Superstar Status.

As much as I love "Panama City", I don't think there's any chance of that being a single. "That Don't Sound Like You" seems a lot more likely.

"That Don't Sound Like You" feels perfect, it's a chance of pace from this musically, Lee sounds great on it, and I think that it's a fairly original story (or at least, hasn't been a topic covered on the radio in a long while). I see Lee's career exploding if he releases it.

Listening to the album now. I hear a lot of good stuff. A lot of new ground for Lee, but still has that original Lee feel.
I think overall some songs are a little too poppy for me (especially Girls in Bikinis, which sounds more like it should be on a Jerrod Niemann CD).
But he really shines vocally in songs like Somebody's Been Drinking.
If you wanna hear some really great country throwbacks listen to My Carolina and Panama City (both really touching different ends of the spectrum).

This one's at #31 for a 3rd straight week. It's really been gaining well (and digital sales have been great too), it's just that a couple of other big names have moved ahead (Tim, Brad, Kenny, Eric) and virtually no one has gone recurrent. Billboard is definitely due for another housecleaning, and soon.
Lee has an incredibly high audience total (9.2 million) for the #31 song. I went back 6 months ago to the chart dated April 26, to see how much audience the #31 song had then. "River Bank" was at #31 that week with 5.6 million in audience, which is a much more normal amount for that 'range' on the chart. If "Drinking Class" had been on the chart in late April, its 9.2 million total would have placed it all the way up at #26 ("Song About A Girl" was at #26 that week with under 8.3 mil, and the #25 song was right around 10 mil).
I think "Drinking Class" is acting like a future #1, though; it's simply not going to go up quite as fast as Eric, Kenny, Carrie, etc. It looks to me that "Drinking Class" will jump ahead of Brothers Osborne this week, and Lee might be able to re-pass Brett Eldredge and Randy Houser soon as well. Dan + Shay and Hunter Hayes will also be in range not long after that.
Another way to look at it--at 9.2 million, Lee is barely 4 million behind the #20 song, "People Loving People". An artist like Lee could easily gain 4 million in the span of 2-3 weeks. This past week Lee 'only' gained about 900k, but he'd been doing about twice that much in prior weeks. There's just not a lot of space separating all the songs from #19 thru #35, and soon radio is probably going to be forced to purge a lot of these songs. David Nail can probably make top 20 but KYT has been out 31 weeks now so it's not likely to climb too much higher. Garth looks like he might not even make the top 15, and I'm still not convinced that Chase Bryant is going to get all the way into the top 10. Rascal Flatts likely won't last much longer, and the weeks are also racking up for Hunter Hayes, Dan + Shay, and Brothers Osborne.
If I had to guess, I'd say that only one of the older songs is likely to keep climbing for a while, and I'd put my money on Randy Houser. The younger songs--those from Lee, Thomas Rhett, Brett Eldredge, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, and Darius Rucker--these are the other likely ones (from this section of the chart) to keep climbing, or at least that's how I see it.

If this makes it to 1 which would be great for him to get back to back 1s again, I'd love to see good man get released its my next favorite on the record and I think he's starting to build quite a bit of momentum for himself
