Great video. Sometimes it's nice when they don't try to over think things, and this is one of those cases. The video is exactly what one would expect, and it's super effective. This is a great song, and I think it's on pace for a #2 or #1 peak, but my lord does Lee's songs move up the chart at a snails pace. It's a steady pace, but this song is moving up in small increments. It'd be nice to see this one post a huge update soon.

I think Lee's slow climb is partially because the charts have in general have become slower and momentum is harder to gain as you go deeper into an album, but I wouldn't be surprised if radio stations are also tougher on Curb Records than they are on other labels that are larger and more respectable. Literally the only thing Curb's promo team can do right now is get great sellers from a solid B-lister to have slow climbs up the chart. "I Don't Dance" ended up being a massive seller, but took so long to take off there's even an "out" week in its Mediabase chart run.
Things are getting tougher for all independent labels these days and we've seen just about all the indie labels close down (or shut down their promotion teams) over the past year, leaving only Black River, Curb, Broken Bow, Big Machine, and Show-Dog. Show-Dog is all but done, only being propped up by Toby Keith's wealth, and Black River might get a few new artists some moderate success but their one "star," Craig Morgan, seems to be just about out the door and I don't see any Black River new artist permanently cementing a place in country radio. Lee Brice probably has several good years of getting hits up the chart left, but once he can't score hits I think that might be it for Curb. It probably doesn't help Curb that they embarrassed themselves with all those failed frivolous lawsuits against Tim McGraw either. (Seriously, what were they trying to do there? Did Curb seriously think it was going to win one of those and gain "street cred" for being the label that milked Tim McGraw?)

I don't think this one's moving that slowly. It's on the cusp of the top 20 after 13 weeks and while Lee's singles take a bit longer than other stars in the genre, he has had fairly quick risers before like "Hard To Love". I don't think Lee will ever be on the level of Luke or Jason but I think he's been doing very well for himself the past few years.
Curb has always had this sort of problem - where they have one breadwinner and the rest of the roster (or close to the rest) is struggling at radio. I do agree about independent labels having a very difficult time at radio lately, but there's still two indie label groups that have been having superb success all things considered with BMLG and BBR. In terms of Black River, while I can't predict where they will stand with hits from their new artists in the future, I do know that they are here to stay since a billionaire owns the label and they have many resources at their disposal.
"Drinking Class" is doing just fine though and unless this hits some sort of snag soon, I expect another top 5 finish for Lee.

Caught this on the radio for the first time today and I was really confused because this didn't sound like a country song at all when it came on. The production sounded like a better fit for an alternative rock station or something. Just very strange to me and I wasn't a fan of it at all. I've only ever really cared for two of his singles to date -- "Hard to Love" and "I Don't Dance" -- and this doesn't look to be a third.

It isn't produced like a country anthem. The oh-oh-oh's make it sound like a deep, story song, if you will. The live version, to me is better. Kind of think he over thought the production of his new album, even though it's good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtutB97J_XY

Got to be honest, I don't even hear a hint of alternative in this song. It sounds completely country to me, with a slight mix of 80's power ballad (think Bon Jovi or Journey). I think it sounds great on the radio, and definitely sounds like a Lee Brice kind of song.

The production makes me think of something I'd hear from like Imagine Dragon, Bastille, or Phillip Phillips, etc. The opening music sounded downright jarring on the radio when it came on because I had no idea what it was and my first thought was that maybe I wasn't actually listening to a country station after all, lol.

I guess maybe I could see the Imagine Dragons part, but I guess for me, as soon as I hear the sound of the crunching steel in it and the bells, I know it has to be a country song lol

What's going on with this one? Came very close to losing it's bullet. I know Lee (and Curb) is expected to get a slow climb but considering how popular this one has been digitally, I would have expected it to pick up at least a *little* steam going into the top 20.

Lee Brice is an interesting one with me. "Love Like Crazy" was one of my favorites! "A Woman Like You" was a miss for me... "Hard to Love" was pretty good, and "I Drive Your Truck" came during that period of my country drought (but I really like it now!) but everything since is just bad for me... this song included.
I want another "Love Like Crazy" from him.

Been seeing Lee retweet a bunch of people showing they've downloaded "That Don't Sound Like You" and apparently he debuted it on The Bobby Bones Show today, so I'm going to assume this will be his new single. Have to say that that would be the best decision, it's the standout track of the album imo and will be a megahit.

I was a bit surprised at the concert last night...when this song started everyone freaked out. It wasn't necessarily the most popular song of the night, but it garnered the most initial response. For some reason that just surprised me considering how good a reception his older songs usually get.
After That Don't Sound Like You, he said they were thinking about it as the next single and he asked the crowd what they thought. I personally felt that there was a better response during Good Man than that one, but I think the former would probably do better.
Also just need to say that he is hands down one of the best concerts I have been to, and I've seen him 3 times so it wasn't just a fluke.

^ I agree Lee is awesome live. I remember seeing him 3 years ago in the summertime. He said that he was going to debut a new song that would be on his next record (keep in mind, this was 2012, the same year his second album came out, this concert was a few months after it came out so hearing a brand new song so early was exciting) He preformed "Whiskey Used To Burn" and it gave everyone (including myself) chills. Shame he only put that song on the deluxe version :( Anyway, I'd love it if "That Don't Sound Like You" was the next single. I mean seriously are there really any other good radio contenders? I really hope ol' Mikey isn't thinking that something like "Girls In Bikinis" will be a huge hit for Lee.... Though what's really sad is i'll take that over "Good Man"

I love this song. The sound is like nothing else on radio and the intro is maybe my favorite sound in years from a song. I would be shocked if Girls in Bikinis isn't released at some point as a single. It was the biggest selling album track on iTunes when the Album was released.

"Always The Only One", "Show You Off Tonight" are two of the most radio friendly songs he's recorded. "That Don't Sound Like You" is brilliant, would make for a great third single. "Sirens" might be a dark horse later on too.

I think TDSLY is going to be a smash hit for him, the other two are pretty much a split decision for me, either one works.

I agree with Sam, Good Man should be next to switch up the tempo a little bit and get that spring/summer hit then release TDSLY for the fall/winter because that is an amazing song that reminds me a lot of his older more popular songs and to close out the era why Sirens or Girls In Bikinis for a beach jam?

I would love for that don't sound like you to be released but he could also go with somebody's been drinking and get the same effect it's equally great. His album is really good in my opinion

It seems like this song has been out forever already. It's been climbing really slowly the past few weeks, but I'd still bet on this reaching #1. As for the next single, there's nothing left on the album that's as good as this or "I Don't Dance" IMO (except "Panama City", but I severely doubt they'd even consider that as a single choice). I think they should continue to milk this song as long as they can.

This was in response to the person I quoted. I ask have they listened to the album and heard , somebody's been drinking, that don't sound like you, good man, or always the only one. These are standout tracks on the album that could all be singles and I feel could be hits. I hope this sounds better and I apologize for the errors.

I didn't say there wasn't ANY more solid material left on the album, I just said I don't hear anything that sounds as big and promising as the first two singles. I think Lee will still have 2 more hits off this album, but I think in the long run they won't have as big of an impact as "I Don't Dance" (which was a huge hit) and "Drinking Class" (shaping up to be a pretty big hit as well).

I think with the right push, good man, that don't sound like you, or somebody's been drinking could totally match the audience of drinking class and I don't dance. But again that's my opinion I like the album and I like those songs.

This one seems to be losing audience the last couple of days if I'm reading the chart right. Could this one be peaking now or does it have enough left to make the top 5?

Been a little concerned about this one lately. I know it had a strong update yesterday, but prior to that, this song has been floundering with small gains the past few weeks. It also fell to last in the pack of songs it was moving up with (Lonely Eyes, Homegrown Honey, and Ain't Worth The Whiskey). Now Sam Hunt and Zac Brown Band are getting really close, and should pass within the next few weeks. Luke and FGL should go recurrent next week and that will help, but if Zac and Sam both pass this one, I'm not sure if it will be able to wait it's turn in a long line of songs. I know Lee and Curb are used to the long chart runs, but I don't know if I can see it waiting out Blake for most likely 2 weeks, Brett, Jason, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, possibly Darius (who knows how long they'll push this one), and Sam and Zac Brown Band if they are to pass (And I'd expect 3 weeks minimum between Zac and Sam).
