To echo on this, it reached #16 yesterday, which will likely be its peak.

It's like a better version of "Demons" mixed with "If Today Was Your Last Day". Decent, but sounds dead on arrival.

This song seems to be getting no push by the new record label. It was on iTunes without any social media posts and without any type of banner on iTunes homepage.
No music video released or Tv performances. Roadrunner done a much better job with 'When We Stand Together', even though it didnt do great in the end.

Republic is not promoting this at all. They said they had this whole plan thought out for them and the album, but they've done nothing to help. I was expecting this to get a lot of promotion considering "Edge of a Revolution" got quite a bit and it was the rock single. The band has had one tweet about it too, which is not helping.
In other news, this should get a decent debut on the Hot 100. Probably in the 60-80 range. It would be much higher if promotion and radio (MIA on HAC?) were behind this. The digital sales are there, which it wasn't for "When We Stand Together", but nothing else is going in its favor. This would have gotten Top 40 if they did the same thing as they did with "When We Stand Together". What is Republic waiting for?

This type of promotion or the lack of I should say, doesn't bode too well for the album release.

I'm sure it'll be catchy as hell but I hope they don't go all Daughtry on us though. Funny you should say that as this sounds like a Daughtry song to me.

Hmmm, the only positive thing is that Nickelback won't do a full album that sounds like this. Still a shame though, even if I do quite like the song.

I dont get all the hate for this song Well, there's the matter of how cool it is to hate Nickelback just for the sake of hating Nickelback. ...and for incorrectly stating that every Nickelback song is an exact replica of "How You Remind Me" Then it's customary for these people to go back and listen to their precious One Directions, Maroon 5s and EDM DJs, who by the way are all actually less musically diverse than Nickelback, but it's considered taboo to reveal that harsh truth. Bottom line, you have to hate this song and keep the Nickelback hate movement strong.

Debuts at #102 on the Hot 100..... Confused considering the song was in the Top 50 on iTunes all week. Guess airplay really did matter.

Wow if thats gonna be the peak, this era is screwed.
I haven't heard the album but this doesn't really feel like a lead single. It just doesn't go anywhere amazing. I wasn't big into WWST when it first came out but it at least felt like a lead single. I wonder was this a last minute song the record company asked for because they wanted something more pop friendly. Something that fitted with current radio trends. It doesn't feel like a song that they spent weeks/months on like (Savin' Me).
Promo has been non existent either which doesn't help.

The fact that it was released on iTunes without as much as a tweet beforehand, still doesn't seem right to me.

No music video released yet either.
Hopefully they don't take as long as they did with releasing the 'Gotta Be Somebody' music video.

Blanks 1 add this week on Pop. Hopefully this is because the adds date was pulled because if it wasn't, Nickelback is screwed. My guess is that it was and they're going to push it to Pop later like they usually do.
Did pick up 27 on Hot AC this week.

I think it might end up doing better on the HOT AC charts. A top 10 showing at least. That's were Daughtry's songs make their mark these days. "Waiting For Superman" did very well on that chart.

I don't like this one very much. I have to also agree that I think it sounds very much like the new Daughtry songs. Same auto-tuned, compressed vocals. This isn't quite as bad as the "metallic" sound they gave Daughtry though. I have to turn the radio to something else when his new songs come on. There's just something they did to his vocals to make me gringe.

I've been listeing to this Nickelback song a few days now. It's not great, but it's not bad either, but it sounds like it could have been composed in a few hours? I often wonder why Chad decided to send this fairly easily composed song to the mainstream pop charts. It's almost as if the band is trying to make a statement about the direction of mainstream pop. Like saying, don't make it too edgy or complicated or it will throw that audience off?

This is more enjoyable than anything on Here and Now for me. Honestly if the chorus were stronger I think it could actually have a shot on CHR. But the chorus is kind of the weak link in it. The verses indicate a much bigger and catchier hook payoff than what the chorus actually provides. They need something super catchy to get back in mainstream's good graces.

Yeah I also got the impression that this song was a last minute thing, which makes me wonder why it was chosen as the lead pop single. Its not bad but it feels very ordinary.

I wonder how it'll fare on Pop since it is moving very slowly on Hot AC.

I don't see this doing much on Pop. It's too bland and safe. Seems to be off to a decent start on HAC though so maybe I'm wrong. Just seems as if there are much more interesting songs trying to impact for CHR to jump on.

The music video was delayed because the band can't agree on the story for the song. They have reshot it multiple times according to Chad. I think the song will pick up once the music video is released, because right now it's hardly making any noise, especially considering it's Nickelback.

Its definitely a grower but a killer music video and some real promotion wouldn't hurt.
