I actually really like this song, and it will probably blow up (rightfully so). But, as this was the first live performance of seen of hers, I must say: She should lip all future performances of this song. I don't know if it's because she was nervous out of her mind, but I had to stop this after the first chorus. This was atrocious. That vibrato could be used as a torturing technique if played on a loop. Wasn't a great performance, but I think you're overstating how bad it was (it also picked up considerably after verse one - so that might be part of it). Granted, tons of music blogs were overstating how good it was (they refuse to ever say anything negative artists like this). So - balance. Interesting comment about the vibrato. Ryn's thick vibrato was the thing I noticed first on her EP - and definitely something I thought could be polarizing. Not disagreeing with you that it's there - just surprised it surprised you (since it's so notable on the recording as well).

She is very nervous and this is not a song you can sing being nervous and do a good job. From the second verse on it gets better (but that doesn't mean it's good). She needs to calm down on the following tv performances to get this the push it needs

The song is currently under CNM on AllAccess. Instead of the artwork, the image below is posted, which I assume it will be the banner.

awesome to see a good adds week. the lack of adds pre-impact had me worried for the worst, but i'm hoping this means she'll pull in more adds and blow up.

The adds are great, but i don't understand why this is not even top 1500 on itunes.
The song is being promoted for months, maybe not to radio, but i remember an billboard article about three months ago. It's obvious there's good buzz around her and she is going to be promoted as mainstream artist, so i don't understand why the hype doesn't translate on the itunes chart

Yes, it first starting getting pushed many months go, but the campaign has been extremely scattered and start-and-stop. Nothing has been done to sustain the song's presence in the limelight, and as such, I'm not at all surprised it isn't presently on the sales chart. It received a bunch of hype from the hipster blogs (which spilled over into mainstream media) and some celebrity Twitter accounts last summer, and that did allow the song to make a minor early splash on iTunes. But that press really didn't last long - and the publications hyping her aren't really known for driving sales anyway. A video was released a little while later. That got some attention when it came out, but wasn't really complemented with anything else. The music blogs had already written about her, and she still wasn't being pushed to radio. So the exposure she received was brief and minimal. She then did the poorly timed Letterman appearance last month (you don't say no to such an appearance - but it clearly didn't come at an opportune time) and was named one of MTV Artists to Watch, but the media hasn't really been tracking her recently, and there was still no airplay. The song *finally* got sent to radio. That will help it build some momentum, but the label needs to expand on that by securing press, booking some appearances and hoping her MTV Artist to Watch spotlight is coming up soon.

You are right, promoted is not the right word.
In fact the real promo of the song is quite flawed on its timing (of course not as absurd as Adam Lambert's first release or the nonsense Shawn Mendes' label is doing with Life of the party). Anyway, the adds are good, the song is interesting so if the airplay starts to work is only a question of time that being reflected on itunes. The itunes position is not that important till the song reach the top 30 (in fact there are some songs in the 31-50 part with very low positions or even not charting)

Well, looks like this is the banner from AllAccess. Kind of similar to the previous one, but I prefer this instead.

The important thing is not being top 50 but the healthy bullet it has which is very promising What does it mean? Bullet refers to the week-over-week spin gain (this week's spin count - last week's spin count) OctaHate has a comparatively strong one, which means it has momentum. It's actually RISING (rather than just lingering in the #45-50 area) and thus has the potential to make a dent on the chart.

The sheer creativity of this song is something that goes unparalleled among today's influx of pop songs. Other artists should take note, cause this song is perfect. A #1 spot needs to be reserved with Ryn Weaver's name on it. Smash please. :)

There are a lot of creativity in the pop chart lately, but all comes from crossover hits, if you don't count crossovers and pop hits with clear influences of other genres most pop songs in recent years follow the same pattern. At least there's more variety in lyrics than in the country chart, but it would be good more songs that take on different themes as well
