10/3 Billboard 200:
TITLE - Meghan Trainor ( 876,000 ) Gold = pure album sales
I'm hoping this can scan 1 million in 2015. Her label had better discount it in December.

Since she's eligible for the category, I wonder if she can pull off a BNA win at the Grammys...

Cute song. Love it. I swear her performance skill this early in her career is amazing. That cannot be taught.

I know I'm late but, just listened to this album and I love it! Lots of good songs. I still don't understand why DFH wasn't as big as LAM :/ Also, 3am reminds me a lot of Bridgit Mendler :)

I agree--I thought LAM, DFH, and Title would've all been big.

Such a cute performance. I can see big things continue to happen to Meghan in the future. I'm looking forward to her next album

Becomes the first female artist since Kesha to have at least 3 Billboard Top 10s on their debut album.

I wonder how fast they'll push her to put out the second record. She's Epic's cash cow right now, they won't want her to wait to put out another LP. I could see getting the first single for the new album in the summer

I remember watching an interview with her last week and she said she has already recorded a lot of songs for her next album. She also said that she studies radio to figure out what is popular and find a way to record similar songs but better. She is definitely coming to get those radio hits with her next era.

As much as I like her 60s throwback sound, she has to do something different for the next album. Hopefully not something similar to the musical abortion of Bang Dem Sticks

I assume this is the interview wjr15's referencing, which I'm listening through now: I haven't been a fan of her music (save "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" and "I'll Be Home;" "Better When I'm Dancin'" is growing on me), but I think she comes off in this as very aware of her career trajectory and she specifically said she pushed for "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" to show another side of her, she brought up soca music like five times and said that she wanted it in "Better When I'm Dancin'" as another side of her musicality, and I won't be surprised if (unless Epic pushes back against it in search of surefire hits) the next album is more sonically diverse. I'm newly impressed.

She is very determined and knows what she wants out of her career. I can see her following a similar trajectory as Katy Perry but not as massive.

Cute song. Love it. I swear her performance skill this early in her career is amazing. That cannot be taught. Fatima Robinson has been crafting her performance skills just like Aaliyah; it just appears so natural.

Then she should know she's found herself a little niche with the 60s-style sound that nobody else really has right now (outside of Bruno Mars, but even Bruno tends to jump around decades when it comes to his style). Maybe her new album will be a little more diverse, but if she wants hits, she should probably still have some throwback style songs.

That was a great interview, thanks for posting it! I'd never seen one of her interviews before, but she left me thoroughly impressed.

I'm sure she won't abandon it entirely, but she says in the interview that she knows better than to pigeonhole herself into one sound, and that she wants to write songs that are classics, still fresh twenty years from now. Whether or not she is doing or will do that is subjective, but she can't do that if the sound she pigeonholes herself into becomes oversaturated and passé in three.

Although I love her to death and thoroughly enjoyed both the interviews, I can't help but notice the weird inflection she is putting on her voice, especially in the Today show interview.. She almost sounds like Iggy Azalea and that is not a good thing. When I saw her live she spoke to us between every song and did not sound like that at all. She had a normal speaking voice.
Did anyone else notice that? Also the male interviewer asked awesome questions, I was very impressed, but he was totally annoying me from the beginning.

She does speak with a weird inflection in interviews. I don't know why she does it, I woukd compare it more to Britney's weird intonations when speaking than iggy though.

Ariana Grande & Meghan Trainor to perform together on Dancing With The Stars
Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor are set to perform together on Dancing With The Stars, but there are some issues ahead for them.
Sources connected with the show tell TMZ, the issue came up over an upcoming performance by an openly gay artist who goes by the name, Who Is Fancy. The performance is set for November 23, where he will debut his new song, "Boys Like You," featuring Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor, who will also appear on the show. The song is about a man falling in love with another man. We've learned Who Is Fancy's choreographer sent an email to a 'DWTS' producer, saying, it would "be an awesome look to have 2 males dancing with each other."
Our sources say the 'DWTS' honchos discussed it and a producer fired back an email, saying, "Apologies all but this is a definitive no from the network."
We're told ABC agreed to allow "near dancing" during the performance. SOURCE

Yeah, sexual orientation as a gimmick. I hate this Fancy guy already.

Meghan Trainor To Release A Special Edition Of ‘Title’ With Four Bonus Tracks And A DVD (Outside The US)Meghan Trainor is releasing a special international edition of debut LP Title on November 20. Available everywhere except the US, the rerelease includes four bonus tracks and a DVD. Is there anything new? The answer is not really. Festive anthem “I’ll Be Home” was previously released as part of Epic Records’ I’ll Be Home For Christmas EP, “Good To Be Alive” is available on The Peanuts Movie soundtrack and the other two additions are live versions of “What If I” and “Title.”
However, the DVD contains the previously-unseen video of “Title” and it comes with a sparkly red cover, so I still want it. Title was released in January and has already produced four smash hits (“All About That Bass,” “Lips Are Movin,” “Dear Future Husband” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”). The album has sold 850,000+ copies and should pass the one million mark by the end of the year.
Meghan Trainor’s Title (Special Edition) tracklist:
CD
1. The Best Part (Interlude)
2. All About That Bass
3. Dear Future Husband
4. Close Your Eyes
5. 3 AM
6. Like I’m Gonna Lose You (feat. John Legend)
7. Bang Dem Sticks
8. Walkashame
9. Title
10. What If I
11. Lips Are Movin
12. No Good For You
13. Mr Almost (feat. Shy Carter)
14. My Selfish Heart
15. Credit
16. Good To Be Alive
17. What If I (Guitar Version)
18. Title (Acoustic)
19. I’ll Be Home
DVD
1. Title
2. All About That Bass
3. Behind The Scenes Of All About That Bass
4. Dear Future Husband
5. Behind the scenes Of Dear Future Husband
6. Like I’m Gonna Lose You
7. Behind The Scenes Of Like I’m Gonna Lose You

Why wouldn't they release it in the US for holiday sales?

Yeah it's a strange move to do this everywhere but her biggest market where she currently has a rising hit.

She’s at 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Not bad 7 years into the career of a “one hit wonder”
