This is really the only song off his album I liked. Looking forward to hearing it on the radio.

I'm not sure it'll be a hit, I doubt it will be. Still a marvelous song just not sure country radio will play it.

Much better than "Song About A Girl" and even "Friday Night" which I never got into. Radio has clearly been drifting further away from these songs over the past few years, but I'm glad that EMI decided to throw some caution to the wind. This also seems like a great song for the Fall season. Every year there's probably three or four songs that sound great on the radio during the fall, like "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" and "Sweet Annie" last year. There's a risk certainly with a slow ballad that's over four minutes long with dwindling momentum and the fact there's plenty of new flavors of the months for country radio to sink their teeth into.
I also see the add date coming in September as well, as a late August or first week of September add date would not be too smart with the songs going for adds those weeks.

I'm not that big on this song. The lyrics and story are decent, but the way he sings it lulls me to sleep. I doubt this gets past the 30s.

Mark my words, this will be a song of the year contender. An absolutely incredible song and I have enough faith in radio that they can't ignore this good of a song. It may take. Little while for this to get off the ground, but there is absolutely no way this won't make the top ten. This may be a game changer and inspire other artists to release meaningful songs like this more often. Jon Pardi has a great song on his album called "That Man" that is an outstanding song as well but unfortunately it doesn't appear Jon's radio career is going to take off. Jake Owens new song is a great ballad as well. I like the way radio has been sounding and Garth is about to release a ballad as well. Great mix of uptempo and slower songs on the radio.

All I can say is that Country Radio NEEDS songs like these again on the airwaves! A tide need to change. It's time for Country Music to get back to what it used to be all about and was great at.... SONGS with great melodies that tell stories that are heartfelt & believable. This song is very believable and extremely well written. Bravo Mr. Paslay and to EMI pushing it.

This is really beautiful, color me surprised since the only song I've really loved of Eric's is If the Fish Don't Bite.
Not sure how many ballads Fall Country radio can handle but this deserves air play

So I take it this song isn't getting a release date? Does anyone have an update on this thread?

I haven't heard from the label one way or another but I'd be surprised if it doesn't get released. Especially with ballads like this actually getting a chance on the radio (and not "Crash My Party" type of ballads).

Official add date: 10/13 They cut off the musical intro too. The song is now 4:05 minutes long in the radio edit (there's no remix or anything, just cutting the long musical intro and outros).

How is "She Don't Love You" so high on the iTunes all-genre chart? From what I can tell it's getting next to no airplay, I can't find anything about Paslay performing his new single on any show, and the record is still selling for the full price on iTunes, so this doesn't make any sense to me. I'm still expecting this single to do just about nothing on the charts, but if these sales do stay consistently strong, then maybe the record could at least go top 40.

^ The Highway on Sirius/XM has been playing this a lot along with a live performance Eric did of this song in their "Nook" which is just a studio. That's the only thing I could think of.

Thanks for the ideas, sabre14 and rsmatto. The Highway would be a large enough source of airplay for listeners to be exposed to and decide to download this record, but it still seems impressive for a pretty under-the-radar artist like Eric Paslay to have a third single make its way into the top 400 on iTunes with just the Highway spinning it, isn't it? I would say that radio will probably try to give this single a chance, but due to all the iHeartMedia manipulation and the generally competitive charts, I don't expect a C-lister's third single to get much airplay. It's a bit of a gamble on EMI Nashville's part, but I guess they don't have much to lose by throwing one more single out there since Eric Paslay's album was just released earlier this year and he probably won't have new material ready for another four to six months. The last thing they'd want is for Paslay to go away for a few months and then be totally forgotten.

I noticed that this morning. Seemed way out of character for a song like this to even appear on the list at all. I often wonder at that point on the iTunes list, what does that translate to? 10 purchases? 50? 500? 5000?
I bought Eric's album as soon as it came out and I've seen him live twice (going to a third time as well, by chance). He's very shy and that comes out in his performing, but he puts emotion into the songs. He is also very tall.

I really don't think this is all that high on iTunes. Plenty of other songs that aren't getting much airplay at all have also done well. Ben Rue's debut single "I Can't Wait", for example, spent 14 weeks on the chart, all of them in the 56-60 range, and it was consistently in the top 200 on the iTunes country chart, and sometimes even in the top 100. Chris Lane's "Broken Windshield View" has also been in the 200's and, like Ben, he's a virtual unknown to most fans. Glen Templeton's "Let Her Go" is currently at #76 on the iTunes country chart which puts it ahead of "She Don't Love You". Eric at least has 2 fairly big hits to his name whereas Glen doesn't have any. I am pretty sure I've seen Glen mention that his song is getting spun on The Highway so that almost certainly has to be the reason why Eric's song is doing fairly well. Another example would be Cole Swindell's "Ain't Worth The Whiskey"--I believe carriekins mentioned in another thread that that one's getting played on The Highway, and right now Cole is at #63 on the iTunes country chart with that one.

This is one of the best real Country ballads I've heard since Alan's "So You Don't Have to Love Me Anymore." Let's just hope radio won't be pig headed this time and actually give this song a chance. It deserves to be #1. I saw him do this song live when he opened for Scotty back in May in NC and you could hear a pin drop. It just took everyone's breath away in the audience.

Like him or not Bobby Bones is a good friend to have at radio. Hopefully it's a sign this song will do well.

This is such a beautiful song and definitely one of my favorite songs of the year. I don't know what else to say. I just hope this gets the airplay that it deserves.

Most added today with a whopping 48 adds! :o
Wow! I was not expecting that, especially for a 3rd single, and after "Song About A Girl" has been recurrent for 2 months now. That's a huge start for Eric.

That's a huge start for Eric. I think it's pretty evident that country radio wants Eric to succeed. I was borderline baffled in how well "Song About A Girl" performed until it reached it's eventual top 15 peak and now 48 adds for a slow ballad that in recent years has been met with luke warm results on the charts. EMI deserves much credit as well sticking with him.

I'll echo jhomes87 and sabre14 here. 48 adds was quite a surprise. I was expecting this Eric Paslay single to whiff like Darius Rucker's "Miss You" did at the beginning of 2014. Country radio really supports Eric Paslay for whatever reason. (My guess would be he seems like such a nice guy and a lot of people feel sort of sympathetic for him since he is kind of a shy performer and doesn't have much of a fan base.) If "She Don't Love You" can maintain good digital sales (a big "if") and comes out with good research scores, then I think radio will try to get "She Don't Love You" as high up the charts as they can, but I'm still not too confident that Eric Paslay will see a top 20 single here. My original prediction was a 50's peak, now maybe I think Eric could get a 30's or 20's peak. We'll have to wait and see how the numbers look.

There is absolutely no way this song doesn't reach he top 20. Eric is popular with radio and this song is just simply incredible.
