This is a really pretty song, and infinitely better than his last two singles, both of which I didn't care for. But this, this is great. I'm not terribly crazy about his voice, but for the first time I feel like there's something there and there's actual substance to this song, plus I love the production and feel of this one. I wish this one well, and it seems to be off to a surprisingly good start given its sonic nature and his lack of star-power; I'd like for that to continue.

Yeah it looks like radio is showing it's bias for Eric once again. This song is having really good updates for a 3rd single, a really slow ballad, from a newbie who has yet to really move the needle at all with his album or single sales. I don't have a problem eith Eric or this song, but I find it frustrating that he's receiving more of a free pass on the chart than people like Jon Pardi, Kacey Musgraves, and others.

Eric's coming off a song that barely missed the top 10 and a #1 (MB) before that. Kacey lost all radio momentum when Mercury released "Follow Your Arrow" and Jon's momentum is all but gone now with his last single missing the top 30. I agree that radio has really taken to him, more so than Kacey and Jon, but I'm sure many radio stations love Jon and Kacey's "style". BTW: Eric's first two singles did absolutely nothing at radio, so its not like radio never gave him the cold shoulder.

Radio really loves Eric Paslay and it seems programmers really want him to get a hit, so they're probably thrilled that "She Don't Love You" is selling so well on iTunes. This is about as much of a dark horse seller as "Love You Like That." I don't mind radio making this a hit at all since there seems to be a lot of listener passion, unlike the case for "Song about a Girl," but what stuns me is that Canaan Smith's single is selling a bit better, yet radio showed so much resistance that his single even went recurrent on Billboard while it was under 20 weeks old and still being promoted, something that rarely happens. I'm starting to think the idea jhomes87 proposed in the thread for "Love You Like That" may explain why radio didn't want to play it, because of the "I ain't gonna do it like a pretty city boy" line. This seems pretty petty to me, but I wouldn't think experienced programmers would just dream up a controversy without experience or other indicators leading them to the conclusion that listeners in large urban markets would feel alienated or offended. I fully expect this Eric Paslay single to at least make the top 20, and top 10 no longer seems out of the question. This is off to a really strong start and the sales are amazing. Maybe Eric has more of a chance at really breaking through than I had at first thought.

Maybe Eric has more of a chance at really breaking through than I had at first thought. I knew radio was enamored with Eric with the chart run of "Song About A Girl". To me that song had no business being a #11 on MB/#12 on Billboard song. The sales were mediocre and the feedback from the listeners weren't exactly promising, yet it still chugged its way pretty easily to the top 25. The good sales for this song is more than enough for radio to once again have an excuse to make this another hit for Eric, which I certainly don't mind this time around since I believe this far and away his best single from this album. I just wish that radio could treat some artists the same way they treated "Song About A Girl" but that's something out of my control. As for Canaan, Jamie's guess for why that didn't take off is the best I can come up with too. That's a situation I've officially given up on to explaining with certainty.

I didn't really care for Friday Night or Song About a Girl, but this one's really good.

As usual, sometimes very late to new music. Heard this for the first time on the radio this evening and absolutely loved it. Wasn't a fan of "Friday Night" or "Song About A Girl," but this song hooked, lined and sinkered me in. Hoping this takes off in early 2015, although it's being played on a nash-icon type of station (KOKE FM) which caters towards the older and current traditional type of country (they are most definitely anti-bro-country) so not sure that helps its chances chart wise.

It's actually been doing great so far, in large part bolstered by airplay on Bobby Bones' show as well as on The Highway on SiriusXM. Sales for this one have been surprisingly good (at least when looked at through a "sales per spin" lens), and it's up 2 spots to #34 on Billboard this week, after just 9 weeks on the chart. "Friday Night", which of course peaked at #2 BB/#1 MB, was #40 on Billboard after its 9th chart week. And "Song About A Girl" was way up at #24 after its 9th week, but that one flamed out pretty quickly after that, and wound up peaking at #12. Given that there was a bit of a gap between "Song About A Girl" and "She Don't Love You", it's very impressive that SDLY is doing so great. It's very tough for the 3rd single from a new artist's album to do much at all. Heck, Eric is on pace with or even outpacing several singles from more-established artists. Billy Currington's "Don't It (lead single from an upcoming album) is #36 after 8 weeks, Easton Corbin's "Baby Be My Love Song" (from an upcoming album as well) is #31 after 14 weeks, Tyler Farr's "A Guy Walks Into A Bar" (from an upcoming album AND following after two top 3 hits) is #28 after 20 weeks, Josh Turner's "Lay Low" (another lead single) is #39 after 14 weeks, and Joe Nichols' "Hard To Be Cool" (3rd single from his Crickets album, but it's following up two big #1 hits) is #37 after 16 weeks. Things are definitely looking up for "She Don't Love You".

I seriously can't stop listening to this song. The lyrics and sound of it just all feel so right and beautiful.I hope that he has more songs like this in the future and less songs like "Song About a Girl".

What a fantastically directed video. I love the usage of the focus' and the lighting. The editing was top notch as well. I like the simple approach the took with it and felt it matched the song.

It's such an amazing song and I think Eric should be considered as a nominee at an awards show.

A DJ played this in Charlotte the other day and he said "I've been wanting to play this song for weeks and now I'm finally able to." That statement alone says so much what's wrong with radio. The release date was months ago, the DJ SHOULD have been able to play it before just this week. I hate this "wait your turn" mentality for any song that isn't by an A lister no matter how good it is. For a good single that's officially released to be put in queue until it's permitted is just ridiculous and says everything that's wrong about modern Country radio. A single even by a non A lister used to have a journey of 4-5 months now it may that that long just to be "permitted" to be played!
Good for this song doing so well. It's nice a meaningful song can still occasionally do well on "party rock, metrosexual pop" Country radio.

I agree with you McCreerian. I do think that Country radio not wanting to play "Bro Country" will lead to more Traditional Country just saying. There are songs from a lot of Country artists now that could be considered Traditional. FGL does not fit in that group bc they still are Country Pop. As for "She Don't Love You", I hope it becomes a number one hit and it definitely should be nominated for an award. Hope it will be big enough to be considered for nominations.

I like this song, but I wish I liked it more than I do. I just can't really get into Eric Paslay's vocals, even though they're much better here than they were on his last two singles, both of which I disliked (particularly "Song About a Girl"). The lyrics and arrangement on this are very nice though and I'm sure I'd absolutely love this if it were sung by someone else, like David Nail. The understated nature of this song I find comparable to "What We Ain't Got," but I largely prefer that one because Jake Owen absolutely kills that vocal and makes that the focal point of the song, while this tune I get a "pretty music, okay singer" kind of reaction.

I feel the exact same about this. I just re-listened to this song for the first time in months because I had already written it off as something I didn't like when I first listened to it. Listening again today, it's much better than I remember because lyrically it is very good, but I just can't get behind Paslay as a vocalist. His first two singles were atrocious (especially Song About A Girl), so I put no effort into attempting to enjoy this, but it has definitely grown on me since its original release.

If you want to hear a great vocal performance by Paslay, listen to "Less Than Whole."
Some of the songs on this album don't really fit him as well as some of the others, which is odd considering he wrote them all.

Just when I thought this was actually looking like a solid contender for #1, it hit the brakes again. It's basically been flat in both spins and audience this week on Mediabase, and position-wise "She Don't Love You" has been passed by "Wild Child," "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," and "Baby Be My Love Song." I had always viewed this song as far from radio-friendly, since it's a long, slow ballad that just doesn't blend in well on the radio, but all the signs were pointing to this being a dark horse hit. The Highway jumped on board this single early, iTunes sales are really high, and Eric Paslay got to perform at the CRS New Faces show. This is on 147 stations on the Mediabase panel (which is just about all of them I think), so now we'll just have to see how next week goes. Maybe EMI can revive this and pick up some more conversions once "What We Ain't Got" and "Little Red Wagon" start falling, but right now I'm seeing the path to #1 for this single as a bit foggier than before.

It's a shame that this single isn't charting as great as I thought it would. It might have something to do with being a very quiet song.

^ It's Top 20, which is more than I expected out of this song. I think at least matching Song About a Girl's peak is likely.

I'm like 95% sure I seen Eric walk into my local neighborhood Walmart grocery in East Nashville a few weeks back. I remember thinking as he got out of his truck & walked by me he really resembled him. After watching the video Im near positive it was him. Any how, I hope this can still muster a top ten finish. I don't know if that's possible or not though....
