Damn that is probably the two best promo slots available her label must be really pulling for her to become the next big thing. Ive noticed she's under WMG does that company have any big female pop stars? they seem to be in abundance for UMG and SME but I don't think WMG have any? Katy Perry is under the UMG umbrella, but any other woman they have is either unheard of or is no longer successful. the question wasn't about UMG's pop star star status, but rather WMG's. Universal has far more than Katy Perry (Lorde, Ariana, to name a couple off the top of my head).

I'm surprised this hasn't blown up. This song is just a whole helluva lot better than "Boom Clap" and the hook is perfect, imo.

I found her AMA performance a little annoying. I guess I didn't find the need for her to start busting up her guitar or microphone stand (whatever she did) at the end of her performance. It's not like she did some major damage on stage with her songs. Maybe she's just not my cup of tea or I haven't paid much attention to her yet.

Still holding on iTunes and it keeps rising on spotify. It's up to #62 now. This could actually debut on the hot 100 next week.

This is out of the top 100 on iTunes again.
I liked her performance, and especially the section with this song, but that's still no excuse for waiting as long as they did to help it out.

Why do people assume record labels just decide when their talent gets to appear on major talk or TV shows? The fact that Charli XCX got a featured role at the AMAs and an SNL performance suggests some hard work is being done on her behalf - but no label can work miracles. Do you honestly think they said NO to the Tonight Show during October and November?

Because if a label really wants to do something, it gets done. Money works wonders... This is not how the music industry works. Obviously you can't just buy yourself into anything, but if they really were trying to promote her they would have gotten her on SOMETHING within the first couple of months... They thought that this would just fly up since "Boom Clap" was a hit, and when it was struggling they figured it would pick up soon, and now that they realized that this wasn't the case, they tried to promote it, and it was simply too late for the song...

It's amazing how many people forget the "People have to like the song" ingredient of making a song a hit as they go on and on about promo.
Not just surfboart, a lot of people.

No I remember that part, and I do agree that the promo didn't connect with it, but you can't sit back for the first two months either if you really want a song to break through and then expect a sudden wave of promo to push it to a hit... Trust me, I see the public disinterest in her, and I haven't forgotten that element.

But...literally I think you miss it still... It's not her, it's not the promo "not connecting" -- it's not a strong song. :/that's all.

Ugh, I said I got that... but failing to promote is another big misstep in this whole case, you're looking at one part of it, when there were MULTIPLE mistakes with this rollout...
