I've always conciderdd the Alternative Rock charts to be more for new Rock bands to get recognition and get a boost of airplay. Weather it be Indie, Rock, Punk whatever. This doesn't apply to new rock acts that sound too heavy, but anyway this is the reason I think newer Alt acts do conciderably well on Alternative. Just think about all the bands that started on Alt before graduating to thier respective genres. Third Eye Blind, Creed, Nickelback, Matchbox Twenty ,etc... Acts from the 90s were new for thier time and charted huge on Alt. Now, those bands are such stabelized and well recognized rock acts , that they can go straight onto Active rock and usually do chart better there, than on alt. Bush and Foo Fighters are bands that tend to be a bit on the harder side of Rock so they will easily fall into Active , while others like RHCPs and Weezer will always do thier best showings on Alt. The 80s rock acts; as someone else mentioned, usually go straight into mainstream, cuz they are even concidered Classic Rock. This is the reason that makes most sense to me and that is also the reason I have no problem with the direction Alternative rock charts take, cuz that's where I usually find my new music. but at the same time; as many have mentioned before Indie Alt bands ,like Lorde, Bastille, Neon Trees,American Authors,etc.. might easily get less and less airplay on Alt, now that they are recognized and HUGE all over the world. That should make most of you happy.

Lol, seeing all this makes me flash back to 2011 when "The Sound of Winter" shot into the Alternative Top 20 within 2 weeks.
Good times, good times.

"The Only Way Out" might be one of the few songs where I like it the best the first time I heard it. It's still a good song but now that I've heard the far superior "Man on the Run" I kinda wish that was the single instead.

Man on the Run has good instrumentals, but the vocals lack energy imo. I think it's better than The Only Way Out though.

I like this actually. I've never really liked Bush's material before. The only song that I like was Gavin's "Love Remains the Same", which is not even Bush lol. I could see this hitting in the mid 20s on Alt.

I could see this hitting in the mid 20s on Alt. I'm thinking further. Top 20, with a pretty decent chance at Top 10. It'll also be a Top 5 hit on Active more-than-likely.

It's sounds just ok. Nowhere near "Sound of Winter" For once I say what that one member does about certain acts getting a free pass on Alt, just because they started there.

Another new track titled "Loneliness is a Killer." I personally think it sounds like Filter, but much better with Gavin doing the vocals than Richard Patrick.

This slowed down on Alt recently. If New Politics hadn't been there, it would have been higher already.

The guitar work also has a slight STP sound. The intro sounded like a slowed down version of "Sex Type Thing". This could do fine as a single on Alt.
