I just hope Hot AC will still have his back when they do release a single there. He needs a good lead that will give him a few good follow up singles because he needs to come back there and retake his throne from Train and Maroon 5.

This is promising: these two are the co-owners of Dirty Canvas, the music writing/production company behind American Authors, Young Rising Sons, etc. Get that hit!

Thanks Kurt for that information. I didn't know who those guys were. I did really like that American Authors hit. Like the sound. I'm glad Rob's venturing out some on his third solo album. As much as I liked (not loved) his second album, I think a fresher sound for him would be great. I didn't know if Rob was touring this summer or not. I haven't seen anything about it but this hit the airwaves yesterday. Ravinia Festival Chicago July 18 Rob Thomas :) wgntv.com/2015/03/05/ravinia-festival-announces-2015-lineup/

Rob's such a goof ball. LOL! He's listening to Creed at the beginning of that tape. LOL!
Good luck to people buying tickets. I have a feeling that this tour was in the works before the album was pushed back to a late summer release from a 2015 1st Q release. Hopefully, as we've mentioned above, it means that we will actually see some promo for the album this summer. :)

The Good News - Per Rob on twitter the album is done and is great. :)
The Bad News - Why aren't we getting the album until late summer/September?
I hope the later is because a lot of promo is planned and they have it all pegged for this summer. Time will tell.

Hopefully more than one song will be released before the album drops.

Kyle, I'm not going to make one of his shows this summer but are you or do you know if people are getting a free CD with a concert ticket purchase? I thought I read that somewhere but I haven't really looked for it again. Just wondering what you've heard. Interesting if true.

He's coming near here, but it's a night that really doesn't work for me though :( I guess I'll find out for sure if I figure out a way to go.

Thanks guys. I think I read about the album giveaway in a tweet from a fan. I probably didn't read it right. I wish I could go to a show but getting off in the summer is hard for me. I did see an acoustic show last year so I was able to do that. Hopefully, his album will do really well for him and we'll get another tour in early 2016 that I can catch. Hope you get to go, someguy.

LOL! I wonder what that is all about. My first thought was that Rob is recording a song for a movie soundtrack that Laurence will be starring in. Does he have any movies coming out this summer? Interesting to say the least. It's May...come on first single or it's at least time for some hints about the release date. :)

Someguy, have a good time at your show. Let us know what new material he does. I heard 4 new songs on youtube (don't know which ones will make the album) but I LOVE The Great Unknown acoustically so I'm really interested to hear what the final cut of that song sounds like. While I really liked the other three songs as well, I don't know how any of the them will come off live with a full band. Rob needs to add some uptempo stuff to his full band show and The Great Unknown was the only song of the four that I thought worked really well with his voice - maybe the other three will just be album songs. The Great Unknown I'm assuming will be a ballad when it is finished.

I like his solo stuff a lot, but I'll be a little disappointed if he doesn't do some of their classics.

I like his solo stuff a lot, but I'll be a little disappointed if he doesn't do some of their classics. That's a good question for this tour. In the past, he has performed MB20 songs that he was the only writer on (no Paul or Kyle). 3AM, Bent, Disease are a few that come to mind. But since he will be promoting a new album I would say that he'll add six new songs to the playlist. Then again, the tour is happening before the album comes out so he may only do 2-4 new songs. It will be interesting to see what he does.

"Trust You" premiered on EW today. The article also confirms that "I Think We'd Feel Good Together" is co-produced by Serletic and Ricky Reed (aka Wallpaper.), whose recent credits (see his Pulse thread) include Twenty One Pilots's "Tear In My Heart," LunchMoney Lewis's "Bills," Fifth Harmony's "Bo$$," and Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty."

I even liked it better after listening to the version Kyle just posted (rather than what Entertainment Weekly put up on Soundcloud). You can actually hear Rob on the third verse now. He was pretty muffled on the other version.

www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2015/05/26/rob-thomas-trust-you-new-single/27969807/From USA Today For Trust You, the first single from Rob Thomas' upcoming solo album, the Matchbox Twenty frontman turned to one of his former opening acts: Ryan Tedder. Thomas and Tedder became friends when Tedder's OneRepublic opened for one of Thomas' solo tours. The two became friends when Tedder's OneRepublic opened a tour for one of Thomas' solo tours. "He's one of the most prolific people I've met in my entire life and one of my favorite people," Thomas says. The two began the song, which builds from a propulsive acoustic guitar rhythm and a falsetto "Woo-ooo-ooo-ooo-woo" vocal reminiscent of the Rolling Stones' Miss You, in Atlanta one a recent OneRepublic tour. "We did the rest of it over the miles while I was at home and he was on the road," Thomas says. Tedder also produced the track, because, Thomas says, "When you have Ryan, you let him produce it." Tedder's other high-profile collaborations include Beyoncé's Halo, Adele's Rumour Has It and Taylor Swift's Welcome to New York. While Thomas has worked with other artists on their albums, most notably Santana's Grammy-winning 1999 smash Smooth, he rarely has reached out to collaborators for his own albums. That will change with The Great Unknown, which also includes collaborations with hip-hop/pop act Wallpaper. and the production team of Cirkut and AG. "It was good getting inspiration from different people," Thomas says. "It helped me keep from feeling like the record wasn't just one sound all the way through it. Set for release in late summer, The Great Unknown is just about finished. "I have this one ballad that we just cut," Thomas says. Producer "Matt Serletic sent me the strings for it today. I've got to cut the vocals for that. It's really just me with the piano and strings. That would officially be the last one." Before the release of the album, Thomas will kick off The Great Unknown Tour will start June 11 in Ontario, with its first U.S. date taking place June 13 in Akron, Ohio. The tour will continue through mid-August, with a handful of the new songs in each night's set. "I can't imagine the set would be more than three or four of the new songs, but maybe not the same ones every night," he says. "We're basically putting out a single and touring to support the single, then building up to the record, which will come out right at the end. By the time we start doing promotional gigs and TV, we're just going to be slaying it."

You know he tweeted last month that the album was finished. He always has 12 songs on the album so it would be really interesting to know what song was cut and why. Of course, those are the types of questions that us fans never get an answer to. :)

You know, it could just mean one track gets to be come a bside or something, doesn't necessarily mean a song got cut completely. Sidenote, the tracklist is looking like its going to be: - Trust You
- Heaven Help Me
- I Think We'd Feel Good Together
- Hold On Forever (super excited about this one)
- The Great Unknown
- Wind It Up
- Absence of Affection
- Lie to Me
- Steady
- All the Best Things
- Even Stars Fade
- One Shot
- Pieces
