I'm going to Rob's show in Akron this Saturday. I'll report back with the set-list. Please do. I'm not making a show on this tour. Hopefully, the album is VERY successful and he tours the US again next year!

You know the first thing I thought about when I saw that set list is that MB20 fans won't be happy (people who go to see Rob thinking he will perform a lot of MB20's songs). Three albums out (almost) as a solo artist and he has finally dropped the MB20 songs except for 3am (which we know he wrote before there was a MB20). I am assuming that Real World is Real World '09 (a song I don't really like). Anyway, I just found that interesting. I think I'll hold out listening to any clips of One Shot. There are what 6 songs that we think are going to be on the album that we've already heard. I want to be surprised by the rest of the songs when I get the physical CD (yeah, I still buy a CD). Of course, I'll be happy to read anyone's review of One Shot if they care to share. :)

"Real World" was the 2009 song. He was great - a lot of energy and he sounded fantastic. I would have loved some more Matchbox 20 songs. I completely understand why he didn't, but that would have been the only thing I would've changed.

Someguy - how did you like One Shot? Ballad, rocker?
I think we have some posters who went to the Akron show last night and I *think* he played another new song...Wind It Up, maybe?

It was a poppy uptempo, basically about how we only have 'one shot' to live our lives, so we better make the most of it.

When Rob toured....last year? Or was it the year before?......He did a lot of MB20's biggest hits along with tons of songs from his firs two albums. I loved the mix.
I'm seeing him again when he comes to town next month and I can't wait to see how his setlist is, whether it's as someone posted above or if he'll still perform some MB 20 songs.
Either way, I CAN'T WAIT for the new album!

If August 28th is the legit release date, I'd expect details to be released by the top of August at least.

Next Single either "I Think We'd Feel Good Together," or "Hold On Forever"

Those are both good choices for a second single. I feel like from a radio perspective they should definitely go with "I Think We'd Feel Good Together". That song is Rob's best chance for a Pop hit. "Hold On Forever" could be a Hot AC/Traditional AC hit, but I could also see it stalling early on Hot AC like "Overjoyed" did.

Maybe later down the road

Definitely needs to be I Think We'd Feel Good Together. Especially if the album cut has more of a rock feel. And they kept the "hotness" of the acoustic version.

"Nlytm" seems like an interesting name though. Edit: Apparently he played "Nlytm" at the Columbus show, it's called "Not Like You Told Me"

I do agree with you here. :)I just said almost the same thing in the Trust You thread before I came over here. I'm still holding out for the album release to listen to anything new. I haven't heard the recorded version of Hold On Forever but per twitter that seems to be the kind of song many people expect from Rob and are enjoying. So yeah, without even hearing the recorded version I'm going to say I would go with the other choice as the second single. LOL! The lyrics to that one are at least *hot*. Rob could make a *hot* video for it (well by Rob's standards anyway). LOL! I don't expect we'll see a shirtless Rob in any video anytime soon. He may be making pop music but he isn't Adam Levine or Robin Thicke, thank goodness. ;) And here's a biggie - he's giving us a 13th song on the regular album version. I bet that 13th song is the quiet piano song that he recently recorded. Kind of like how Mad Season and Something To Be closed with basically Rob on the piano and Matt's orchestral arrangement.

I knew we'd get album cover (not a fan) and track list sooner than later. He did mention a couple times that he was debating between 12 and 14 tracks for the album so I'm thinking he may get a Target deluxe edition.

IS that picture of Rob in the sun glasses the album cover? I thought it was just a promo picture. Well, if it's the cover, no complaints here. ;)
Okay, I don't have much will power. I just listened to 45 seconds of Nlytm live (he played it in Columbus?) Anyway, it sounds like funky Rob. Love. love what I heard so far. I will say one thing that's not all glowing about Rob...I'm not sure how well some of the new songs are going to stand up live. It's hard to re-create a live sound when you add a lot of bells and whistles in the studio. However, I have trust in Rob and his band to hash something out that works. They will probably tweak the new songs live as time goes on. I hope the album does do well enough that there is a second leg of the tour in the US next year. Having said that, every band has songs they don't do live much for whatever reason. I don't think MB20 played Bed Of Lies much because of the same thing I just posted - hard to re-create the sound life.
Album release date must now be August 21st. I've seen it a couple of places now. That's good because I looked at a possible release schedule somewhere and I think there are 2-3 possible really big albums coming out on the 28th. I would love for Rob to get a top 5 debut so the less new competition the better.

I just came back from vacation and decided to listen to three more you tube clips - Wind It Up, One Shot, and NLYTM. I am so glad I did. I needed to be rid of all that negative stuff over Trust You (which I still think is awesome). I'm in love with these three songs. LOL! Seriously, this is EASILY going to be Rob's best album. I don't know how it will do because it may struggle to find radio play but I know I'll be playing the heck out of it. I don't know of these three songs which I'll like the best but I think all three will be killers live once the band really starts getting into them. I can understand why you are liking Wind It Up. Isn't that chorus great? And the last minute of that song is just a crowd shout out ready to happen. Anyway, I'm so excited with the direction Rob went with this album. WOW!

I'm starting to get real excited too. I'm glad you listened to those songs, they will probably sound a little different on the studio versions anyway. On a side note, how does one "Shazam" a song? I saw Rob tweeted that you get a new surprise song if you "Shazam" Trust You this week.
