Twerk anthems. They're all over the place, they have a sick beat, and they make you want to shake your ass. But is there a limit to how many tweak anthems we can take?

It'll go like any music trend. It'll last a few years then kind of die off. Might here one or two songs down the line that reference the sound (which isn't called twerk*), but otherwise yeah; it's not meant to last.
*that's assuming you're referring to twerk as a genre. If you aren't, and mean the uh... movement, then yeah same rules apply.

I'm not sure how old OP is but songs about shaking your ass have been around for decades and twerking itself has been around for like 20 years. Whether it will be called "twerking" in the future who knows but people will always be making music about grinding on that wood.

When I was growing up in the 90s, we called them 'booty shake anthems' and there was even a genre called 'booty bass'. A lot of R&B songs had official and unofficial 'bass remixes' which would make them more suitable for dancing to.
There will be an inevitable oversaturation point when there are too many of them out at the same time, but for every few that succeed ("Anaconda"), there will be those that flopped ("Booty", "Bubble Butt").

I have a big butt. I wish I knew how to shake it. (and I wish I wasn't otherwise fat)

No. It's a sub-genre that has been around for decades and will never leave. From Miami Bass, New Orleans Bounce, Bass All-Star Compilations, etc.

YES, and THIS SONG was my favorite of the booty bass music (actually the first rap music that I could tolerate): And this is probably the biggest hit from that era:

You do realize that the three golden corners of popular music are getting f**ked up, spending money, and ass shaking right?
These'll always be around in one way or another, the same way they've always been.
