Was just coming to post this! Ha.
I've only listened to this song once, but I quite liked it on that listen. Good choice.

I would have been shocked if it wasn't this one. I think most sensed a ballad had to be coming next for the fall season from Brad and this was the logical choice. After listening to Brad's album, I'm glad he's back to making the music he used to a few years ago.
I thought there was a slim chance they'd go with "Country Nation" with the football season on the doorstep, but I'm sure songs like "Country Nation", "Crushin' It", and "High Life" will get a shot at radio in 2015.

I'll have to go back and listen to this one again, I don't remember it being anything special. I really hope "Limes" gets released at some point, that's been my favorite of all the leaked tracks at so far. I'm curious to see if Brad can have some good follow up success in today's radio climate.

After hearing the full album, I definitely agree that this is the best choice. Future singles should definitely include "High Life", "Crushin' It", and "Limes," and probably in that order after this one peaks, too. CI as a Summer release would work perfectly and HL would be a solid release for radio in the Spring time after the holiday/winter craze dies down (and it features Carrie, so it'd likely do quite well).
Love this song. He sounds great on it, too. I get to see him live next week!

I'm not a fan of this one. Lyrical it seems like a lesser version of Huricain by Dustin Lynch. The meledy isn't doing much for me either. Brad sounds nice though.
This should be a top ten for him.

Agreed. Listening to the iTunes samples it seems Brad's new music is just kinda blah. Some interesting titles so I'm hoping for some diversity when it comes out Monday. I miss some of his older stuff from mud on the tires and who needs pictures. I remember years ago someone on this board claimed "best thing I had goin" is his best song. I lean toward that opinion but Whiskey Lullaby is up there too.

After listening to the full song, I can say this song is pretty good. It really reminds me of "She's Everything", it has a very similar tempo and vocals. It's definitely a COUNTRY song, there's no question about it. I'm not sure if this will be the best choice for him to chart though, only time will tell.

Like the song, this album is Brad's best effort since 5th Gear.
Like the start to the album with Crushin It.
"I sure could use an attaboy or a big old high five I'd love to hear: "You're killing it, dude" yeah, It's been a long time Since I hit one out of the park or nailed it, as they say I guess I've been in a dry spell, but that's about to change"
That's some self-awareness right there.
Still think he needs to strip the music back a little bit. When he and his song-writing buddies write something, they should remove about 30% of the words in the song. He's trying to fit too many words into his songs. Where Wheelhouse gets 0 stars, this is a solid 3 1/2.

Definitely the right choice heading into fall. I think it's actually one of Brad's better singles about love. He has a great guitar solo, and I feel his vocal performance is very understated in a good way; he never tries to test his range and I think the song is better because of it. It lets the instrumentation speak for itself
I also really love the buildup to the chorus in the first and second verses. I just think they work perfectly. You can feel the momentum moving toward the chorus.
First Verse: She's Sunday drive meets High speed chase She ain't just a song She's the whole mix tape She's so complicated That's the way God made her Sunshine mixed with A little hurricane
Second Verse: And she loves just as deep As she goes when she's down The highs match the lows Can't have one without the other And I love her just the way God made her Sunshine mixed with A little hurricane

Ahh yes, this is the Paisley that I like. I agree, it reminds of "She's Everything" but is nowhere near as good as "She's Everything" (that song was and is absolutely fantastic). I can't say that about this one, but I do like the song and am happy to hear it's the next single. It's got a Kings Of Leon vibe to it with the drums and "Oh Oh's" which will help with the younger crowd.

I just hope other artists who look up to him learn from Brad's mistake and stay true to who they are and never try to fit into a trend. Artists have devoted fan bases for a reason. Brad will recover and he proved he's back with this album, he just needs to convince those who he "hurt" by his last album. This new album is pure Gold. I haven't stopped listening to it in my car since I bought it Sunday night! This is the best Brad's been in close to a decade.

That album seemed completely different from anything else on radio to me. By trends I meant the super big Pop-like productions. Compared to most of Brad's traditional leaning stuff, this new album included, Wheelhouse was pretty far out of his normal zone. No it wasn't like Bro-Country trends, just more Pop leaning.

Surprised to say I really, really like this one. The chorus is big & poppy, which I like, and not too busy. The guitar solo in the middle seems out of place to me, but I'm more a fan of a catchy guitar riff than a straight-up solo, so I'm predisposed against that part.
Overall, though, this will probably be my favorite Brad song ever.

Just got back from his album launch party in Las Vegas tonight. It was fantastic! Leah Turner and Love & Theft opened for him and they both put on very respectable and well-received sets. His team did a lot for this show, too -- they were giving away so much merchandise! I got 2 "Moonshine in the Truck"-themed can coozies, a t-shirt that has a big moon on it with the word "shine" (and the back says "#PaisleyPoolParty2014" as a special edition shirt), wayfarer sunglasses that are black & red and say "Moonshine" on them, and big Styrofoam blinking purple lights. All of that for free. I was originally going to go to the merch booth at the show, but there was no point of spending money on more shirts when I could just grab as many as I wanted of the free ones (oh, yeah -- they were limitless on everything; people could take as many of each item as they wanted).
The show itself was awesome, awesome, awesome. I was second row from the front, so I could see everything crystal clear. The stage and set-up were really small (especially for a BP show) and the venue only holds maybe 1.5-2k, so it was a pretty unusual show for him, but it was just his launch party, so I guess they were going for a different kind of show? IDK, but it was still great. He played a lot of oldies, and from the album: opened with the title track to the new album, played "4WP", "Perfect Storm" (first time they ever played it live -- in the words of Brad himself, "You guys are about to get to see probably the worst live performance of this song ever!" lol), and "River Bank". The rest were previous singles and oldies. Gotta say, though, he sounded awesome on this single when he did it, contrary to what he said about it being "probably the worst live performance of [it] ever." He nailed the vocals (he was superb vocally tonight, which isn't always the case with him) and his guitar work was obviously supreme on this song (and everything else he did).
As for my one and only real issue with the show: the audience. I'm sorry, but why are Country concerts (and male artist Country concerts, especially) such big issues this year? We've had the death at the Aldean concert, the rape at the Urban concert, and tonight, a huge and bloody fist fight broke out between two guys at the show, one of whom had been a nuisance to security the whole time leading up to the fight in the middle of the third freaking song of Paisley's set. It was right in the front, too. It was Paisley's album launch party, for goodness sake, and he had to perform for a crowd that was ducking for cover and dodging fists for the first portion of his show. A couple of absolutely belligerent people got escorted out throughout the night, as well, but that's not as uncommon as a freaking bloodbath breaking out in the fourth row. It just boggles my mind as to how audiences at male-driven Country shows can no longer get their acts together without becoming complete barbarians. People need to start acting like grown ass adults. It's pathetic and ridiculous to have to continue to see these headlines swirl over positive reviews of the show itself. There are children at these shows. These audiences need to clean up their acts and control their freaking liquor intake.

The lyrics to Crushin' It (posted above; thank you) look like what I'd expect in a Paisley song -- sharp, focused, smart. That gives me some hope. The lyrics to Perfect Storm, on the other hand, look like something Brad has recorded before, on several occasions. If the lesson he's learned from his recent dearth of #1's (on Billboard, anyway) is that he has to play it safer, I for one will be disappointed.
I don't always like it when artists try something new, but if they aren't supposed to do that, ever, I like that a lot less.

My only hope is that the songs he performed yesterday at the launch party isn't indicative of the singles that'll be getting released after this one is done. He obviously did this and "River Bank", but the title track and "4WP" can stay as album tracks. I don't want to see those get released at the expense of "High Life" and "Crushin' It".

I think it would be very ironic and perfection if Brad released "Shattered Glass" to radio since it's all about female equality and this genre is still stuck in the 1950s in that aspect.

If y'all haven't bought this album yet, go give it a listen. Well worth $11.99 on iTunes. You won't be disappointed. Each song is unique and although the production is getting a little heavier over time (to be expected), these songs really keep a twangy, backroads feel to them.
Perfect Storm is a good choice.

Brad's the most added on MB this week with 72 adds on impact day. That's a lot more adds than I would've thought he'd get for a 2nd single going for adds on Labor Day (I was thinking closer to 50). Hopefully this is a good sign that "Perfect Storm" will be a big hit for him. This is one of my favorite Brad singles in a long time, probably at least 3-4 years. I'm hopeful that it can become his first Billboard #1 since "Remind Me". He's got quite a drought going.

One of the Brad song's that's had to grow on me, but I'm really enjoying this song as well as his album. The fact he got that many adds has me optimistic about the success of this albums and his subsequent singles from it.

Nice to see Brad break into the top 50 on MB today (#49) on the rolling chart. With "River Bank" (his last single, lol) going recurrent tomorrow, he'll most likely be either #48 or #47 depending on if he can leap frog Tyler tomorrow, which I believe he will.
