Do you know if Jerrod stayed or not? I hate having to wait another 3-4 hours to find out from All Access. No, that's the last domino to fall. Theoretically he should stay since he did have a bullet on the 15th of December chart but Jerrod lost a ton of audience and if "Show You Off" got removed, then "Buzz Back Girl" should. Hopefully he's gone. Guess on debuts Miranda Lambert- "Little Red Wagon" Reba- "Going Out Like That" Chase Rice- "Gonna Wanna Tonight"

Josh is finally able to crack the top 30 as "Lay Low" jumps from #34 to #30 this week on MB. Maddie & Tae, Scotty and Dan + Shay going recurrent certainly helped. Yup. Top 30 on Mediabase: 34 30 JOSH TURNER Lay Low 1296 1189 107 6.824 I want this to at least reach Top 20 (or Top 10 if possible)

I'm starting to see a glimmer of hope for country music radio in 2015. Fingers crossed for this tune to make the Top 10.

By getting into the MB top 30, this song will add the rest of the countdown spins to its total this coming weekend. Now comes the hard part -- does this start improving its rate of climbing up the chart and head for the top 20? There are 6 or 7 weak or weakening songs ahead of LL right now, maybe more, so the opportunity's there. Within a few weeks' time there will be debuts from artists whose current hits have recently peaked, or are about to peak. But that shouldn't bother Josh, who is moving at a slower pace -- he's on the David Nail Parmalee track, so as long as he can add steadily, gaining ground every week, I see him hitting the top 20 in 5-6 weeks.

I'm still fairly worry free when it comes to "Lay Low" and its eventual peak - and really have been for a while. You obviously have the falling Parmalee and Tim going away in two weeks time (Parmalee next Sunday) and weakening songs like Toby, David, RaeLynn, and Chase Bryant who I all expect to be gone while "Lay Low" is still chugging along. I think this is where you'll see an increase to medium and heavy rotation for some stations already spinning this song and it should accelerate a bit faster once it hits the top 20.
I fully expect Josh to reach the top 10 and potentially have a future top 2 peak similar to his 2012 hit "Time Is Love".

This is so damn good. I can't really come up with the correct words to describe it. I love it more every time I hear it. The production, vocals, lyrics, melody, etc. 100% masterpiece.

Its got a ways to go....but I agree i'd love to see Josh hit #1, especially with a song as great as this. I hope that March date sticks for his album, he always has some pretty good hidden gems on his albums.

Finally makes it to top 30 on BB. Hoping for higher. This is the type of music country radio should be playing.

Seriously it's about time this song blows up! I'm at work all day for 8 hours and haven't heard this once yet...radio needs to play this and get it out there! I'm requesting it tomorrow and see if they play it -_-

It's a real shame that this is taking so long to climb. After 22 weeks, it's only at #30. Compare that to the chart run for "Time Is Love":
56-54-48-48-37-36-31-27-28-26-23-21-22-20-20-19-18-19-18-16-16-15-14-13-12-11-12-12-11-10-8-7-6-4-3-2-3-2-6-recurrent
39 weeks. That's a pretty lengthy chart run. And yet, if "Lay Low" is going to be a sizable hit, it's going to take well over 40 weeks. "Time Is Love" was already top 15 after 22 weeks on the chart.
TIL was Josh's last big hit. It was held from #1 by a pair of smash hits: Little Big Town's "Pontoon" and Hunter Hayes' "Wanted". Other songs that were big hits (top 20) when TIL was near its peak include Jana Kramer's "Why Ya Wanna", Jason Aldean's "Take A Little Ride", Dustin Lynch's "Cowboys And Angels", Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away", and Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", among others.
Things have changed a lot since then. When "Pontoon" hit #1 (and when "Time Is Love" first climbed to #2) Little Big Town had just over 36 million in audience; Josh was just under 33 million. Only 20 million was needed to crack the top 10. Now the #1 song typically has more than 47 million, and it often takes 30 million to reach the top 10.
Also, you really have to think about how many artists (especially men) have blasted onto the charts since 2012. It's a constant revolving door of rising and falling fortunes, and a constant recycling of momentum. There are just so many male artists out there, and even though Josh stands out due to his sound and style, that doesn't really matter in terms of how a male artist fares on the charts. Only the top few A-list male artists are guaranteed top 5 hits every time they release a new single. For artists like Josh as well as Billy Currington, Lee Brice, Darius Rucker, Jerrod Niemann, etc...they can all get hits but it's almost like they're a brand new artist every time they come back with a lead single. And it doesn't help that there was such a big gap between Josh's last album and the release of "Lay Low".

I'm sorry for bumping this and I know this one's been out for ages, but I'm really really starting to love it! I always enjoy hearing Josh's voice on country radio.

The song is still climbing at radio, albeit very slowly. After 28 weeks on the Billboard chart, it's only up to #27. If Josh can stay ahead of Frankie Ballard, then he should move into the top 25 on Monday. I think this song will last for 40+ weeks and peak somewhere in the teens, but it sucks that it took too long to catch on (and I guess it still really hasn't caught on, at least not completely, because it's still moving rather slowly). Because of that, by the time it enters the top 20, it's gonna be so old that it'll be virtually impossible for the label to keep it going. It just spent way too much time in the 40's and 30's. :(

Honestly, I try to steer clear of looking up this song's daily progress as it will only irritate me; but I'll throw caution out the window here. "Lay Low" actually saw a bad update today, losing 56 spins and 70k in audience, and has lost 25 spins since Sunday with only a net gain of 53k in audience. This however, is really incredible. "Lay Low's" greatest gain in total points (MB) since it entered the top 50 was 666 points on the March 23rd issued chart (this past week), and it's greatest point gain (MB) was 800k on the same chart. Basically, Josh has not gotten more than 800k in gained audience and 670 total points for the entirety of its chart run. That is an unbelievably slow climb. I think a top 20 peak is the absolute highest this one can get now since it has burned up way too many weeks in the 30's. I thought a top 5 finish was in the cards a couple months back but I think I'll be wrong on that prediction.

I haven't heard this much on the radio, save a few times on WYRK, and haven't heard it at all on my XM. Wish this would take off for Josh, I feel it is a great tune. p.s. How about play this more and Like a Cowboy less WYRK

I'm actually starting to hear this on the radio now finally. KNIX has started playing it during the afternoons and evenings, and they've also started playing the current singles from Canaan Smith and Brantley Gilbert.
I think Josh can go top 20 with this but unfortunately it's unlikely to get any higher than that.

This not catching on is such a mystery to me. It sounds like a radio hit in every way possible and Josh Turner, though not a fast climber, is a decently big country star. Really hoping radio still surprises us with this, because anything less than Top 10 would be wrong, imo. If "Time Is Love" could make it to #2, I thought this would easily do just as well as that one. Ugh.

Josh Turner's on Sam Hunt's label, MCA Nashville, so I have a pretty strong hunch that this is struggling so badly due to the extensive #1 push going on for "Take Your Time." ZBB's label Southern Ground isn't cooperating this week, forcing MCA to pour even more into pushing TYT, which just makes things even worse for Josh Turner. Hopefully the bottom doesn't cave in on this before "Take Your Time"'s push ends.

That being said, both artists are on George Strait's label.

I agree partially but unfortunately Josh's song has been having troubles for a while and a top 20 peak is the absolute max right now; it appears that MCA will need another single to get Josh's album out. Good for ZBB though gunning for another week at #1.

It'd be a real mistake to sit on the album until a second single gets up the charts. If his single had peaked somewhere in the neighborhood of where Easton Corbin or Jana Kramer did with their last singles, I could understand, but they should definitely still put out Josh's album after "Lay Low."

It's not 100% going to happen, but "Lay Low" is 31 weeks old and has only gotten to #25 (last week) on Billboard and #27 on MB. MCA would need to stick with this for at least another 12 weeks or so to even get his album out, and there's been no possible release date anywhere. It was originally going to come out last month, but that was put on hold because of "Lay Low's" ridiculously slow climb. It's currently #238 on the iTunes all-genre chart, which isn't terrible by any means but I don't think it would be a good move to release his album if this peaks around #20, hypothetically speaking. We'll see though.

Ugh. "Lay Low" is near finished. Josh has lost 667k in audience and 127 spins over the past 6 days and 345k of that lost audience coming today. MCA could try and revive this but it would be pointless as radio is just not responding to this one, really for much of it's chart run.
It's not often I'm floored about a song's peak as I've gotten pretty good at predicting a single's future, but I'm floored this one didn't become a hit. It was traditional by today's standards but also had the modern production and feel that I thought would work to it's benefit. Josh was just off the radio for far too long (a year and a half) and the chart was just filled with competition.
It flat out sucks that MCA will in all liklihood need another single to get his album out. "Lay Low's" chart run probably took a couple months off my life as I watched it struggle for audience.
