1989 will be released pretty soon, and it's an entirely Pop album. This showdown had to be done:
Which side of Taylor Swift do you like better? Her country side, the sweet small-town farm girl angel who trudged through heartbreak to get to where she is now? Or her pop side, the one that transformed her into a mega-superstar, an international sensation, an icon that will be remembered for her continuously growing legacy?

For me, about the only two Swift songs I really like are the two extremes...Safe & Sound and I Knew You Were Trouble. So I guess it's more about the song than the genre with her for me.

"All Too Well" and "Last Kiss" alone are better than every piece of Pop material she's released thus far. Country Taylor mops the floor with Pop Taylor.

Country.
All Too Well, Tim McGraw, Our Song
Her full-on Pop material doesn't 't do anything for me, and the songwriting (her biggest strength), sufferers dearly there, too.

Country, considering my two favorites from her are Mean and Our Song.

Country, though I do enjoy some of her pure pop songs.

I love all of her songs, but my favorites are I Knew You Were Trouble, Our Song, and YBWM, so I guess Country by a slight margin.

Country definitely. "Our Song", "Back To December", and "Sparks Fly" among many others I really enjoy. Even some of her forgotten singles that don't get much play anymore like "Fearless" and "Ours".
Though she has had a couple pop or pop only songs I liked as well. "22" was insanely infectious and I liked "I Knew You Were Trouble".

I'll vote when I finally heard 1989.. It's a blind vote what you are doing now

Country Swift all the way. Her debut was by far my favorite of her album's thus far and in general I've cared far less for her full-on pop material. Red showed the division well as all the countrier tunes on that record were generally my favorites. My favorite Taylor Swift song is Tim McGraw, followed by the likes of Our Song, Mean, Begin Again, Fifteen, Ours, I Almost Do, etc.

I voted pop. As much I like Country Taylor, her pop side is great. "WANEGBT" and "I Knew You Were Trouble. and great pop smashes and the forgotten CHR/Pop single "The Story Of Us" was great. Taylor just makes fun pop music and I admit it is even better than what most pop artists do.

Well I prefer her when she had, always one foot in country and one foot in pop. Her music was less lyrically watered down and peppy? childish? whatever you wanna call it. Her pop songs are borderline Katy Perry bad. Lyrically speaking, cause her vocals on her worst day are better than that thing.

I don't like the new single, but Pop. Her best moments are usually (with a few exceptions) the more pop-friendly ones and the ones she actually delivers better.
I think her songwriting and how she is perceived is not too dissimilar from Kurt Cobain. She may be associated with a different genre because of how she broke through, but she is undeniably a Pop songwriter. Her songs are pop songs at the core with country flavorings normally.

Pop/pop-leaning songs from her I like: State of Grace, I Knew You Were Trouble, Sad Beautiful Tragic; don't mind You Belong With Me (5) Country songs from her I like: Safe & Sound, Back to December, All Too Well (3)
Pop Taylor wins.

I consider Love Story and You Belong With Me country, the only two Taylor songs I like

Country, easily. (which would encompass even tracks with tinges of country)

I enjoy both, but her country material is so much better. "Back to December", "Begin Again", and "Our Song" are some of my favorites from her so country. Her pop material is really good though.

I love her country material. I cannot stand any of her pop songs.
