Not bad for Ariana, but I expect them to trend a bit higher as the week goes on.

I expected her to sell more than 200k, but these are not bad first week numbers at all.
Congrats ARI! :)

I had no idea her last album sold 140K first week out. Seems like this one has double the promo and airplay so I wonder if they were expecting a bit more than that slight increase. Could trend higher though.

Nice opening for Kem. I expected him to be 15K to 20K range, but it is good he has a good fan base from urban AC crowd.

I was expecting 200 for Ariana and at least 100 for Brad Paisley. I think Ariana can still hit 200, or at least close to it, but what happened with Brad? His set a little more than a year ago opened over 100. His first single didn't do poorly. Maybe too fast with the followup album

Two things:
-- I think people are being a bit too generous with the Ariana Grande number. Considering Problem, Break Free and Bang Bang blow The Way out of the water as far as hype *AND* have turned her into one of pop's biggest stars, the minimal growth over "Yours Truly" is disillusioning.
-- Didn't Hits Daily Double predict 50K for Royal Blood earlier this week? I know they report on their favorite acts with enormous bias, but that disparity just seems absurd.

I expected around 200-215k for Ariana, but those are still solid numbers.

These are good numbers for Ariana. She's started switching audiences. There's new people who listen to Pop who will buy this, but a decent amount of her really younger fans who bought her debut cause they knew her from Nickelodeon are either not paying attention or not interested in this right now. The fact that it's due to start of better than her debut is a very good result so far.

Ariana's numbers are low. Her debut did 138k with a top 10 hit sustaining it and didn't have this much promotion.

I believe her "younger" fans are pretty much still fallowing her, don't you remember how well Problem sold in the first week?

I expected a little more, but still a solid opening, especially if it debuts near the upper estimate.

I'd be hard pressed to believe the promo won't push her near the 200K mark at least. Last Saturday, I saw the album cover to "My Everything" on a BUS.

So it looks like Brad Paisley will be collecting yet another number two album. Amazing that he's never made it to the top while several of country's lesser lights have. It's all in the timing!

Ariana's numbers are nice, but not dazzling. I was hoping there would be a more pronounced improvement over the last album; like kanimal pointed out she has a lot more going for her coming into this album than she did going into Yours Truly. But I don't think this is a reflection of Ariana so much as it is a reflection of how hard it really is to win pop fans over so much that they all buy your album as soon as possible. Katy couldn't quite crack 300k coming off the TD era and with Prism under her belt, so I don't really find it that surprising or disappointing that Ariana may not crack 200k.
That said, the album hopefully trends up. It has several potential smash singles left on it that I think will lead to it being a much better seller overall than Yours Truly did with only one real hit so the opening week won't matter much in the end. Also, I'm not entirely convinced that all younger fans rush to buy albums on the first week, either b/c they are dependent on allowance money/their parents buying it for them, or because they're not necessarily as aware of albums' debut weeks as older fans are.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6229467/ariana-grande-my-everything-no-1Ariana Grande Aiming for Second No. 1 AlbumBy Keith Caulfield | August 27, 2014 4:49 PM EDT The young diva's second album, 'My Everything,' is on course to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Ariana Grande is set to notch her second No. 1 album in less than a year. Industry sources forecast the 21-year-old's new release, My Everything, to sell over 160,000 copies in the week ending Aug. 31. The Billboard 200's new top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Sept. 3. The new album, which was released on Aug. 25, is the follow-up to Grande's first album, Yours Truly, which was released on Sept. 2, 2013. It debuted atop the Billboard 200, selling 138,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It has sold 487,000 in total. My Everything boasts three top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "Problem," featuring Iggy Azalea (which peaked at No. 2); "Break Free," featuring Zedd (No. 4); and her collaboration with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, "Bang Bang" (No. 6). On the Hot 100 chart dated Aug. 30, all three of those songs were in the top 10 at the same time, making Grande only the second lead female artist to have three concurrent top 10 hits. (Only Adele, among lead-billed women, had done it previously.) As for other notable debuts next week, watch for Brad Paisley's Moonshine in the Trunk to sell around 50,000 and Kem's Promise to Love to move about 40,000.

Ariana hitting 150k-170k.I was expecting higher with all the promo Ariana has at the moment. One year ago,She was the pre-show for the MTV VMAs and this year is the opener. Hope Ariana can at least get 200k out there first week. Not much difference between this and the debut numbers.

How much do we think for Maroon 5 next week?
200k? 150k?
Their last album debuted with 222k in July 2012.

Not good for Brad Paisley... even if he had released last week, he'd had still been #2.. Next week he's far behind Ariana. Ariana's numbers are decent although I hope she can reach 170-175k.
My Everything will outsell her debut anyway with new single for Q4.

YOUR TOP 15: As expected, Ariana Grande will top next week's chart, and Queen Bey may return to the Top 15 following her MTV VMAs performance. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: 1. Ariana Grande (Republic) 150-170k 2. Brad Paisley (Arista Nashville) 48-53k 3. Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol. 1 (Hollywood) 45-50k 4. KEM (Motown) 45-50k 5. Sam Smith (Capitol) 28-32k 6. Wiz Khalifa (Atlantic) 23-26k 7. Now 51 (NOW) 23-26k 8. Avenged Sevenfold (Hopeless) 23-26k 9. Frozen (Walt Disney) 21-24k 10. 5 Seconds of Summer (Capitol) 19-22k 11. Chase Rice (Dack Janiels/Thirty Tigers/Columbia Nashville) 15-17k 12. Ed Sheeran (Atlantic) 15-17k 13. Iggy Azalea (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) 13-15k 14. G-Unit (G-Unit) 12-14k 15. How much do we think for Maroon 5 next week? 200k? 150k? Their last album debuted with 222k in July 2012. I'm going to guess 150-175k (and that's a really hopeful 175k). "Maps" isn't nearly as big a hit starting them off as "Payphone" was, but I think their fanbase is still solid enough to get them to the mid-100s.
