To those (un)lucky enough to be in a relationship, what kind of music does your significant other like and dislike? How influential are their music tastes on your own and vice versa? Do you listen to music together and enjoy it?
(This topic was inspired by Kween Surfboardt's parents topic because)

I'm bumping this because I forgot I made it and I changed the title to give a better clue as to what it's about. #rerelease

I made my boyfriend a mix cd of all the songs he loves. It's probably a nice break for him not hearing Britney Spears 24/7. Here's the tracklist
1. Tiesto ft. Matthew Koma "Wasted" 2. Nico & Vinz "Am I Wrong" 3. MAGIC! "Rude" 4. AJR "I'm Ready" 5. Disclosure ft. Sam Smith "Latch" 6. Calvin Harris "Summer" 7. Lady Antebellum "Bartender" 8. KONGOS "Come With Me Now" 9. Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne "Rather Be" 10. Pharrell Williams ft. Miley Cyrus "Come Get It Bae" 11. Iggy Azalea "Work" 12. Coldplay "A Sky Full Of Stars" 13. OneRepublic "Love Runs Out" 14. Milkey Chance "Stolen Dance" 15. Kiesza "Hideaway" 16. Vance Joy "Riptide" 17. Ingrid Michaelson "Girls Chase Boys" 18. Ed Sheeran "Don't" 19. Bastille "Pompeii" 20. MKTO "Classic" 21. OneRepublic "Counting Stars"
His musical taste is more HOT AC with a few throwins from other genre's

My bf likes bro-country, plus more feel-good music from people like Taylor Swift, P!nk, Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas, Imagine Dragons. Which is all fine, because I can find artists from just about any style that I like.

My hubby likes more or less the same music I do, which is great, as I clashed a lot with my exes, and I think your hobby is something important you can share in a relationship. He's constantly asking me for new music I've found and viceversa, or he'd share his findings with me. We also share the same favorite artist and have been to 4 concerts together. I also got him to make his personal charts, and I created a monster, as he has such a complicated (well for me I guess) and detailed method of compiling charts. I love it when we sit here on our computers and share what's happening on our personal chart. Funny that a couple weeks ago we both were discussing how the new Katy Perry album has been lackluster in terms of our personal charts, and coincidentally, "This Is How We Do" has moved 16-10-7 on both charts!

I don't even think most of them know about the epidemic of the fact it's been taking over country radio lately. Unfortunately, I'm the oddball who says I don't enjoy most of it.

Well, he likes what I like. But he's also very much into rock. Dad rock, post-punk derived weirdness. He boasts an encyclopedic knowledge of what he enjoys; and, like myself, he can also sniff out the bullshit. Whereas my palate and knowledge is, in a lot of ways, informed by my older siblings, he's an only child who had to shape his aesthetic taste the hard way: his parents. No, I'm kidding. Although this describes the both of us, he has a more pronounced affinity towards female vocal powerhouses; those of the gospel tradition, of course. (He sings like Sylvester.) As for more contemporary sounds, and this is where the meeting of the minds truly occurs, he appreciates dance/futurist rhythmic music that needs to be punctuated with some kind of industrial clang; where we lock horns, electronic music that veers undanceable. We lock horns a lot. (It should be noted I am MUCH better dancer than him.)

He prefers classic rock pretty much exclusively. Like, 60s-70s. I love a lot of that stuff, but I wish we could share in more music together sometimes :( He says no good music has come out since the 80s at the latest lol.
